Eight stabbed, including children, after knife rampage in Southport | LBC breaking

- After multiple people were hurt by a knifeman on Hart Street, Southport, Shelagh Fogarty speaks to LBC's Liam Gotting to get the latest from the scene.
Eight people have reportedly been stabbed, with the victims taken to three hospitals, including Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Merseyside.
Police have confirmed a man has been detained and a knife was seized at the scene.
A North West Ambulance Service statement on social media said: "We're attending a major incident on Hart Street, Southport following reports of multiple stabbings in which we have dispatched multiple resources. "We're assessing the situation and working with emergency partners. "Please follow our channels and @MerseyPolice for further updates."

@@bassetdad437 You believe wrong. The RNLI are supported entirely by voluntary donations. Most lifeboat crew have other jobs, usually marine related, and are not paid by the RNLI. The only exception are the crew at Spurn Head (which is miles from anywhere), who are paid a salary so that they can afford to be based in a location where they can't get a day job.
International maritime law requires that any vessel should go to the assistance of people in danger or distress at sea but from what I know of the opinions of lifeboat crew, they are proud to do so, and to put their lives in danger, irrespective of whose lives they are saving. Still - why let the facts get in the way of an ignorant rant, eh?

He was on the MI5 watch list and known to Liverpool mental health service's.
