Pedia and Lydia do rhyme, if you pronounce the "e" in pedia the same as the "y" in Lydia. You can't make stevia rhyme, no matter what you do, because the consonants do not match.
We have different definitions of what a rhyme is. You're suggesting a general rhyme is fine. I am an English teacher and a purist. To me, a perfect rhyme is the correct form. With a perfect rhyme, the last syllable has to be identical. Since there is no "d" in stevia, it is not a perfect rhyme, and therefore not acceptable to those of us who teach rhyme as a profession.

In Don Rosas Uncle Scrooge comic The Treasury of Croesus, Donald always sang about Lydia (because they were looking for the lost city of Lydia). For a person who did not know about this part of American pop culture, it always was a weird song but when I found this I was like 'Ooh!!! Oh this is the song Donald was singing.' It was fun.
It's so weird hearing my name sang in a song by a voice I don't know. Like, seriously weird, yet flattering since it's even spelled like my name. =) Hard to come across many Lydia's. In fact, some of the older gentlemen I work with(I'm an aid) mention this song by greeting me saying, "Lydia, Oh Lydia", but they could never remember the rest of the song. where is the breaking bad part
My 6th grade teacher used to always sing the “Lydia oh Lydia” part everytime I walked into the room. 🤗
My name is Lydia and an old man at my church used to sing this to me when I was like 4..
This is easily one of my favorite songs ever... and probably why I love tattoos so much.
Aaaaaaaaah! Each time I watch this I feel like I have spent a wonderful weekend with Lydia. I am a relaxed, cheerful and optimistic. Thank you so much Groucho, Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg who composed the song. The song and Groucho's performance are true masterpieces and as entertaining anything.
yes
Is you’re name todd?
I remember my dad would sing this to annoy my sisters and I when we were kids.
And because of that I have a fond respect for this song. xD
This always gets stuck in my head when I take care of my fresh tattoos :D
i haven´t laughed this much for a long time! thank God for the Marx Brothers!
Todd's ringtone for Lydia!
Oh this is the song Donald was singing.' It was fun.
hah same
It's so weird hearing my name sang in a song by a voice I don't know. So, I went to look it up today, and here I am! I'll have to tell them I found it! X3
@SonicRanger Have you seen the film Beetlejuice?
@@comanchio1976 You kiddin'? Of course! I'm obsessed with the musical more though! =D Now I'm much more used to hearing my name in a song. Many songs! A whole musical! XD
@JayPlaysStuff XD No, none of the were, but that would have been funny.
I have a daughter named Lydia! We love playing this song for her. 💜
Folks, its just a funny song. I love it. Clever and memorable, it stuck in my head for a while. Appreciation of older comedy can be rare. Take it for what it is - silly and fun.
robin williams brought me here from one of my fav movies The Fisher King
Same. I have always loved him singing that song in the movie, which is also one of my favorites.
That was a great scene.
My bus driver in high school used to sing this to me when I got on the bus at 6am with 3 other half asleep students sitting silently listening hahaha gosh it embarrassed me at the time but now it's a fond memory for sure
❤ never knew this song existed .LOVE IS
I'm always looking for things that have my name
I love you, Groucho Marx.
Love the whole comedic family c/o Groucho, Harpo, Chico, Zeppo & Gummo, too!
So many _Breaking Bad_ references.
Better Call LLE
I love Groucho Marx. He would be so disappointed if he was alive today to see a world that has become such a terrible place to live in unlike the good ól days of the Golden Years.
The lyricist for Lydia..., Yip Harburg, also wrote the lyrics for 1932's Brother, Can You Spare a Dime, which became the anthem of The Great Depression; we are all much better off today.
i mean back then black people were segregated and women weren’t exactly treated the best. His world wasn’t so great
Fascists saying that the old days were greater than our current times very typical
None of these comments make any sense! Is anyone here for Groucho?
you need to watch Breaking Bad....
I am!
Are you a Marxist, too?
Me!
I am, though I've never watched a single movie from him.
I'm thinking that Todd had a ringtone song for everybody on his phone. For Walter White he had "Blinded Me With Science" because Walter taught him chemistry.
"You can see Captain Spaulding exploring the Amazon", such a subtle reference, I love it.
And I knew there was a reason I named my bong Lydia 😂
I want to preform this randomly with my family in a restaurant!! Lol!
RIP Mr White
Bitch!
No Mr White anymore RIP HESEINBERG
Groucho is the king of comedy...
Oh, the classic of the classics ! Groucho Marx and Marx Bros - never forgotten !
Never fails to make me roar! Jim Henson (of Muppet fame) requested this song be played at his funeral. Written by the same guys who wrote all the music for "The Wizard of Oz".
I heard jim Henson performed this as Kermit on the muppet show before I heard this one.
It is just so fun to watch such a great performance!! Fantastic!!
Those bros were unequalled! Appreciate this post more than I can express.
I believe this was the only time Chico played the piano to a Groucho song.
When ever I feel down, anxious, or just generally distre, I think of this song and it passes!
Yes thinking of Lydia from breaking bad dying makes anyone happy ;)
I have a friend named Lydia and she gets so annoyed when her mum puts on this song XDDD
does she have a lot of tattoos??
Lydia song is about breaking bad not ur high crackass friend
I love this song and the MARX BROS!
Come back her regularly to get a dose of hope for humanity.
That's why I'm here too!
