    Thanks Precision LED for making this video. The instructions are very detailed and were helpful for me to swap out nearly all of the incandescent light bulbs for LEDs, including the rear amber turn lights. The map light was the most challenging. My Prius has the SOS emergency button too, however, I was able to remove the housing and the lens as described in the video. I'll also be swapping out the front turn signal lights too, but the passenger side is proving harder for me to get to...
    Also, LEDs are also vastly more energy efficient than incandescents, and LEDs also help reduce the load on your vehicle's battery.

    Great video, I just got mine done. My map light assembly was the hardest and I ended up starting to remove the gray plastic from the bottom right which helped that top tab pop free. No room to get the pry tool up on the top of mine which has the Toyota emergency call system.

    I recently purchased the same kit about 3 weeks ago. What an amazing difference, I highly recommended it and I am extremely impressed with the quality of the bulbs. Note: The map light fixture is the hardest and the most delicate of the replacements. I only struggled because I didn't have this video to reference. Thanks for uploading especially for future PrecisionLED customers.

    Great video but I am trying to replace the map light switch. I turns on if I manually turn it on but not in the middle position when the doors are open (until recently the lights would flicker if I pressed on the switch with the doors open and the switch in the middle poistion). Have you ever been able to access the map light switch and find a replacement?

  • @rottiuree

    This is an excellent tutorial. LED's do make a difference. Don't know why the new cars don't have them.. Having a hard time with the map light. Was not able to remove the clear lens for fear of breaking the tabs. Any other suggestions? Purchased some special plastic wedge tools but still not able to remove the clear plastic. Almost removed the entire housing.

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 6 lety

      Yes, it is entirely understandable, as we had trouble with the map lights as well. However, if you just follow the tips in the tutorial, you should be fine. You would have to remove the entire fixture rather than just removing the front lens covers.

  • @pbasch
    @pbasch Před 2 lety

    I'm really impressed with the bulbs and the instructions. It was amazingly easy! I did have trouble with the door (or "courtesy" lights, because they were a bit of a tight fit. Also, they seem to come out differently on the driver side and the passenger side. But with some determination, it all got done. Even the very tricky map light! I was worried about breaking those little plastic pieces, but it all worked out well! And the light is so much whiter and brighter! Thanks.
    EDIT: there is one downside -- the vanity lights above the sunshades don't seem to fit as tightly as the originals. If I let the sunshade snap back into place, they slap the ceiling a bit hard and the lamps have popped out, and I have to fish for the loose bulb in that cavity. Annoying! So now I make sure to hold the sunshade when stowing them, so they don't snap back so hard.

      The 6000K Crystal White color is used in the video. Bulb color temperature is ultimately personal preference. The 6000K projects a warmer white color, as opposed to the 8000K, which projects a cooler white.

    What's the difference between the standard and premium kit?

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 6 lety +1

      The new Premium 5730SMD LED bulbs are the next generation of new LEDs. Compared to the older 5050SMDs, these LEDs have 3 times the light output per LED. The 5730 LED chip is designed for maximum light output while the aluminum housing helps to dissipate heat effectively for the longevity of the bulb. The new 5730SMD LEDs have a Constant Current Circuit design which helps maintain brightness if the voltage fluctuates within the circuit and has voltage surge protection up to 18V. And of course, all of our interior 5730 LEDs are backed by our lifetime warranty.
