In fact, Ms. Madhu Iyer is an enchanting singer, agreed, but, the vibrance and vivacity that the original song had in the voice of Mrs. P.Suseela lie in the pitch at which Mrs. Suseela sang the song. The almost hushed voice with which Ms. Madhu Iyer begins the song has taken away the liveliness of the original song. Of course, no one needs to imitate, but while rendering a song already sung and celebrated, the singer must do justice to the emotion that the original song kindled in the minds of the listeners.

After watching this video a few times over and over again the minor subtilities that makes this video so enjoyable to watch and listen to:
1. The stretching of the word "Thozhi" each time around - is beyond the stretch of imagination.
2. At 1:24, Mayakkathilae - the mayakkam feel was enacted and felt both in the voice (a P.Susheela trademark )and in abhinaya with the movement of the eye balls and eye lids ...vaarae vaa - vaera level.
Here Gaana Saraswathi turned Abhinaya Saraswathi - just too good.
With her facial expressions (for proof watch her "kodi asaindhadhum" video) Madhu would have made a damn good classical dancer too - giving a tough fight to her pal Malarvizhi :-)
