- This is a pretty rare find. The quality isn't too bad either. I love the lyrics to this version. I think it's really cool to see how a song evolves, kind of like In Repair with "One Song, One Day."
I would have been thrilled just to write a song like “Simmering”. But then he revamps it and it becomes “Belief”. Unbelievable.
Love that "I was gonna play 'Wheel' but I changed my mind". Great. Just great, this man!!! Love you, John.
Anna Johnson have you heard Lenny/Man on the Side from Any Given Thursday? He was planning on playing The Wind Cries Mary after Lenny, but said he felt Man on the Side more. That's a beautiful thing when a musician can be so fluid as to change his/her setlist so spur of the moment. Amazing.
McKay Carter I totally get that choice actually, I think man on the side would fit way better after the version of Lenny he produced. I think the emotion he poured into lenny definitely fits into man on the side better

This just goes to show that not everything you create has to come out perfect. It really takes guts to question your own piece of art and ask for what it needs to evolve to its best self and do it. This just inspires me to make more music and carve all of it beautifully, just like this man has done.

I was at one of the first live shows where he debuted this years ago, and I remember loving it, and then when Belief came out I was like, crap he changed all the words..I love both songs, but this one holds a special place in my heart just because I heard it in the beginning live.

That Wheel colaboration, if you can call it that, was ingenious! JM never fails to blow my mind.
As an aspiring song writer this is pretty inspiring that he basically took a great tune with bad lyrics and switched it up to make it a hit. That's awesome to me.

Hey John you always say you want to write that song that makes people cry. We’ll stop this train can at times or never on the day you leave….but I’d say for me it’s this song simmering (belief demo) it’s so sad and haunting. It’s so beautiful and yet it’s so heartbreaking 💔 like so soul wrenching!

This one reminds me a lot of Sting. Wait, so is this a live recording? Was he playing this at concerts before it was even fully written? Or he basically had an earlier version of the song and it gradually evolved into Belief?
Omg its so weird hearing this...the lyrics are so different i think the lyrics after this version are better and fit better with the song as a whole...but.maybe it's just cause i'm used to it the other way.....

@25Ragz Dude, I've seen you floatin' around Chaferbud's & other JM fan pages all over CZcams and all you do is put them on blast. I'm subscribed to yours along w/all of theirs. The only difference is they don't trash on other channels. You're the only one who talks crap on how bad their content is or how "un-rare" the material is. For most fans, it is rare so give em a break. Low key I understand you want to have the reigning channel but Chaferbud has been loved for years so cut him some slack.

@mickoallen A very small distance of musical notes.. Like the difference between 350Hz and 349Hz. Can't really explain it too well in English anyway =P. But to be honest, there's no singer who sings perfectly clear on the right notes, it's always some 'millitones' higher or lower than the note it should be sang on. Like.. 1Hz to 10Hz difference (just my estimate).
