I’d even accept a different voice actor if it will just keep people from going nuts. However Apu is an essential part of the series to me, and not having him is just messed up!
I thought the controversy was about large hats
the bear intro in Much Apu is like one perfect joke after another
"a large bear-like animal, most likely a bear has wandered down from the hills in search of food or possibly employment"
"looks like bad news for the... Impson family!"
"that's it! If I'm gonna be trapped in the house I need to go out and buy some beer"
"now to fall gracefully through the windshield"
"one count of being a bear. And one count of being an accomplice to being a bear."
"it's like a freakin country bear jambaroo around here!"
"were here! We're queer! We don't want anymore bears!"
"Son, this is where we're going. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day.
Later that day we sailed to America"
This is one of my favorite jokes in Simpsons, cracks me up every time
I love that Yearnings of the Wind at the end. 🤗
Barthood vs Mr Lisa's Opus. I know there's a clear winner here but I think it's an interesting discussion on why one is better
"He lied to us through song...I HATE when people do that!" - Homer
Me, too, Homer. Me, too.
“Oooohhh, he lied to us through song! I HATE when people do that!”
Before the introduction of James Woods Sir Michael Cain was going to be the substitute supermarket shopkeeper
Love both episodes, interested to see a victor
I think James Woods it's kind of a distractive influence in "Homer and Apu", when he leaves it's through a non-sequitur that creates more questions than answers and then they cut to "let's hug Apu!" (and literally point how they are padding out the runtime at this point)
"There's still time. Let's hug him again!" What makes it funnier is that Homer brought up the runtime at the end of the second act.
Next can you do Courier with Love vs Crepes of Wrath the two Paris episodes.
I'm with you. Homer And Apu is really funny, but Much Apu About Nothing is so smart in its writing and still scarily relevant 24 years later that it strikes a huge chord with me.
Well, Homer and Apu has the scene with Marge saying ",,,we need more Lucky Charms" while shaking the empty box. It's an image that's burned into my brain, I can't help loving it.
That old timey guitar is a lyre.
Both classic episodes. I’d be satisfied no matter who wins!
