Right 😭 Ponies can have similar talents, destinies, and occupations without having to be related. Hell, ponies who ARE related tend to have different destinies, such as Pinkie and her sisters! Or Twilight (Magic) and Shining Armor (Protection), or even Rarity (Gemstone magic + fashion) and Sweetie Belle (Helping ponies with their talents + singing)!! I think the only family who has similar talents is the Apple family, but I believe that's due to family being a huuuuge part in the Apples' destinies. Family means a lot to the Apples, which is why they tend to have a cutiemark theme between all of them

Scootaloo is canonically disabled. It wasn't that she didn't learn to fly, it's just like... Her wings are too small.
This, but also, even if she didn’t have the canon disability, it’s not because her parents weren’t around. She had to rainbowdash who was a good flyer. And we see in the episode her aunt has wings meaning, she could’ve been taught by anyone

I feel like it’s possible to combine the “not being taught how to fly” and the disability into one theory. Like maybe some ponies who are born with whatever Scootaloo has are able to fly (or somewhat able to fly, idk) if they start training their wings from a young age so that they’ll grow properly, but her parents weren’t around to teach her that so her wings haven’t developed correctly

The Scootaloo parent theory I actually give a 0 considering that the timeskip at the end shows the size of her wings still being too small as an adult. There's also the fact she clearly spent large periods trying to fly growing up. She's physically disabled, likely from birth, considering something like strength, which is implied in the theory, can be treated through therapy.

You're 100% right about the creepypasta about the 6 dead girls being easily proven as fake. When a character or concept is based on an actual person who died, it usually becomes common knowledge and results in that character/concept being handled pretty gingerly by creators (DC fans familiar with Stargirl know all about this).

@@alicepenns1029 She was based on the writer Geoff Johns' sister, who died as a teenager. So out of respect for him & her memory, people tend to be super careful writing her. Which is understandable but it's left her as a somewhat static character.
The design for Stargirl's costume was based on that of a vintage DC Comics character named Yankee Poodle from the title Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew. The animal superheroes are canonically a cartoon in the world of the DC Universe.
thats not a theory, but a small notice. if you looks ta the mane six, half of them represent stereotypical concept of their own race: AJ is an earthpony farmer, Rainbow Dash is a pegasus who manages the clouds, weather, and overall loves flying like any pegasus, and Twilight is a gifted unicorn, whos only job she does is magic. How ever, on the other hand we see Pinkie, who was previously a typical worker on a rock farm, but then become a pastry-cooker, thus breaking the stereotype, Fluttershy is not a typical pegasus who loves speed and stuff and more down to earth, and Rarity uses her magic only as her third hand or something, just to hold things while she makes her dresses.

Regarding the sun and moon, I believe the equestrian earth once had a real sun and moon, and then one day some thousands of years ago, the earth is somehow knocked out of orbit and starts drifting throughout the endless cosmos. This is when the unicorns step up and use their magic to simulate a functioning sun and moon in the sky so they don't all die and stuff.
There was a similar minecraft theory that the original planet was blown up and turned into a star, and everything moved to the cooled down sun.
nop, it is explicit that before Celestia and luna come around, it was a group of unicors who move the sun and the moon, and before there was unicors, there were the cats with 2 tails (which are supposed to be canon, cus it from the seasson 10 even though this season is only comics, and so on) so basically there was always magic creatures that make the sun and moon move, this is also confirmed in season 4, when in it finally twilight forget to move the sun, and it didn't move from when celestia raised it a the start of that day....
it is also canon by season 9, due to the clock which have celestia and luna magic, which helps twilight to move the sun and the moon alone lel
and yes this mean that since the g5 doesn't have magic, everyone should be dead... cus no day and night cycle and no weaither either (pegasus create the weather)

Nothing of what you said contradicts a theory of sun and moon being artificial in Equestria, actually the fact that basically any creature can learn to move them and it's not a trait that pony specifically developed works more as a proof for this.
But those satellites don't need to be made by ponies, they could had been created by any developed ancient species that lived on a planet a few millions years ago.
I always headcanoned that a few thousand years ago, before the existence of Old Equestria reigned by Grogar, there was a big world war for who keeps control on the satellites, in which ponies won. So all the knowledge of how to do this that other creatures had was forcefully exterminated by ponies.
This ability is an incredible political instrument, no? Everyone in the current world is dependend on Equestria, and even more so, this is one of the core reasons why Equestria is treated as the most important country in the world, and why ruling Equestria is sometimes considered an equivalent to ruling the world.
So it makes sense for me that for such power ponies had to fight.

Personally I headcanon the Pies as an Autistic/AuDHD family. they’re just different flavors of autistic. Deadpan, shy, confrontational, excitable, etc. Are all traits that are somewhat common in autistic people, plus both Maud and Pinkie have special interests. And autism is often genetic, so a whole family being on the spectrum isn’t weird (most of my family is somewhere on the spectrum, though most of them are sadly undiagnosed)
That's plausible. It certainly makes sense for 2 folks on the spectrum to have those kinds of chances as far as children, especially considering real examples.

Personally, I headcanon Pinkie Pie as having Borderline Personality Disorder. If you run her through the DSM5 criteria, she's almost a perfect match. Though, there's a fair amount of co-morbidity between BPD and Autism, so her having one wouldn't rule out the other.
Yeah. I dont know if i'm on the spectrum at all but me and both of my brothers all have a lot of texture problems which makes it harder to eat certain foods, wear certain fabrics, etc. So I'm pretty sure it has something to do with genes.

My guess would be that Applejack's first hat was her dad's, but it started to get messed up with time. So, being the pragmatic one, she stopped wearing it. But of course, no new hat is ever going to fit quite the same or feel quite right. So you KNOW she spent the rest of her life buying similar hats, trying to chase that perfect fit. And that's how she ended up with that many hats.

I had so many cringe theories growing up that were in complete contradiction with the cannon. my english was just abysmal back then but i still chose to watch the show with the original English dubs for some reason, so most of the time i pieced together the plot purly through visual context, and i also couldnt tell the difference between fan-edits and official material, which really worped my understanding of the cannon. Funny thing is i actually owe a lot of my english to this show, i went from not being able to string a sentence togther to being ahead of class
The "Pinkie has magic" theory is actually backed up by when everypony gets their magic back in School Raze II, a little spark of pink magic goes straight to Pinkie. And before anyone says "WELL earth ponies have magic too!", AJ received no such spark in the same scene.
Also I'm pretty sure Scootaloo is just meant to have a disability rather than be.. neglected/undertaught.
I think she's meant to be a representation for kids and adults with disabilities to relate to.

Mods can be lore-accurate, lore-friendly or completely lore-breaking just like fan theories. They can completely change how approach a piece of media or be barely noticeable. They can work with one version of a game and not with another just like how fan theories can be disproven with further canon. And some people really like playing with mods, and some people wouldn't be caught dead with them. Awesome way of viewing it!

Similar thing goes for Rarity being Sweetie Belle's mom, I think, where that was the original idea behind the characters but was scrapped because Hasbro thought one of the mane 6 being a young single parent wasn't appropriate.

My theory is that Discord is an anti-Tree of Harmony. I remember somewhere, it was either Lauren Faust or a Writer described Discord as just being a creation of the Universe itself. You can still adopt this into modern MLP Lore, as he Mysteriously appears aroung the exact same time that the Seven Pillars first plant the Tree of Harmony/when it starts sprouting. Not to mention he was responsible for the Vines that attacked the Tree in Season 4.
I like the idea Discord was created by the universe itself as a couner-balance to the Tree of Harmony. It also adopts a niche fandom idea about there being a Tree of Chaos; it's Discord.

I always imagine Pinkie Pie is a copy of her grandma, or very similar to her. In the first or second episode Pinkie sings the Giggle at the ghostly(?) song and she says it was her grandma that taught her to laugh in the face of fear. Pinkie's family doesn't laugh nor say stuff like that, so I imagine her granny was just like her and she took a lot from her and that's also why her family tolerates a lot of her shenanigans despite being annoyed - Because she'd remind them of their grandma and they'd love her even more because of that nostalgia.

5:56 something I will point out, is in small towns irl (ones the size ponyville or even a bit bigger) are less likely to NOT place a child student and a parent teacher in the same class, due to lack of teachers. Being that that's the only school house in Ponyville, if Cheerilee did have a kid, they'd probably be placed in her class due to towns being seemingly so far apart.
I don't support the headcanon, but it is something worth noting for those who do.

the pie sister theory 😂 I do think the sisters were just supposed to be extremes who played off one another (since the pies are comedy relief mostly) - maud was an inversion of pinkie, then marble and limestone of each other. i think also the mineral names signify their personalities - marble is placid and cool while limestone is reactive. at least the theory gave me an excuse to analyze the pies.
I've come up with a few minor theories myself regarding the FIM series, While I wouldn't say they are dumb I wouldn't exactly call them entirely accurate either.

Unfortunately allowed myself to be drawn into a ridiculous argument with someone over Cadence's love spell. I theorize the spell doesn't just make ponies all "lovey-dovey," but also helps them see past their anger, hurt, flaws, etc and work things out.

Something I thought about resently is all the characters has cartoon physics but Pinkie is the only one that knows about and can fully control it at whim. That or she got a small amount of chaos magic at a young age or was born with it. Cozy Glow couldnt control the chaos magic but Pinkie was somewhat able to control it, except it seemingly corrupted her.
As for the applebloom skeleton that was from a dream that might show why its way bigger, or more likely its just the animators weren't really thinking about skeleton sizes

A little theory I have is that Pinkie and her family are distantly related to Crystal Ponies. Nothing serious, but Crystal Ponies and Pinkie both get duller coats and flatter hair when they're not doing so hot emotionally, and, you know. Crystals are a type of rock, the Pies own a rock farm, etc.

The first theory makes me like the s2 premiere a lot more. The framing of the opening made it seem like the CMC were the ones who released Discord. It wasn't even a theory to me, just plain canon.
The “twlight created spike” thing kinda made sense if you consider that spike has teleportation magic with his flames….. but then G5 confirms that all dragons have magic flames that do different things naturally so never mind rip.
Although that begs the question why he never uses it in the show but ehhhh whatever

Discord being Q can be canon based on Star Trek episodes: In one of the comic issues, Discord changes reality to the Enterprise bridge, the CMC to TNG uniforms, and himself to Q's Judge clothes. And then he mutters "This seems familliar ...." And the Q race has exiled their people to other dimensions before and turned them into other species, too.
Rarity's talent CAN'T be mind control... That theory is the most debunk-able theory ever.
They had an episode where Rarity made dresses for all of her friends, but they went overboard trying to get it exactly how they liked it instead of letting Rarity do her thing. During the fashion show everyone _hated_ the designs, despite the fact that Rarity was the one who made the dresses. Meanwhile when the Main 6 (minus Rarity) remade the original designs Rarity made, everyone liked them despite the fact that Rarity did not touch them or incorporate gems into them.
In the Princess Dress episode, Rarity got sick of making dresses like an assembly line. So she tried to spice things up by adding gems onto them... But the person who got the dress didn't like it because it was "too different!" Did people forget that the entire reason people wanted the Princess Dress is because _Twilight_ was famous? It wasn't mind control. :/
A majority of Rarity's motivations in the first seasons are to get fame and fortune for her work. If mind control was her talent, she wouldn't have needed to try in order to reach that point, and she would have already been famous by the time the series actually started.

Pony Platforming games were such important to me for no reason. I remember how genius I found the idea of the in game canon of Minuette/Colgate having her cutie mark because of her ability to stop time, while blind bag Minuette having it from being incredibly punctual. There was also an easter egg about Romana (another Minuette/Colgate lookalike) messing with her as a joke about repeating background ponies, peak writing
Scootaloo not being able to fly all because her parents weren’t there makes no sense. First off, in Baby Cakes, we see Pound Cake, a literal foal able to fly very well when the only care takers he has are earth ponies. Second, Scootaloo could’ve just asked Rainbow Dash or someone else to teach her, which I’m certain she tried at some point, only to fail.
Jim Miller says it wouldn't make sense for Sunburst and Starlight, two friendship focused ponies, to have a kid who doesn't like friendship and finds it unnecessary. And tbh I agree. I also might be biased as hell because I'm a huge Sunburst lover, but I will never see them as friends to lovers. Sunburst is a gay man in my heart 😭
I also don't get the Sunburst and Sunset Shimmer are related thing. Tons of ponies look alike or have similar prowess in things but they're not related. Like Pinkie and Pacific Glow are both light pink with darker pink manes and are party themed ponies. They're not sisters. Or Vinyl Scratch and Shining Armor are both white unicorns with the same blue/lighter blue manes, but they're nowhere near related.
Like sure it's a cute headcanon, but I'll never get behind it being a theory or "canon"

iirc Scootaloo and Cheerilee being related is a throwback to one of the earlier gens (gen 3 I think?) where there are characters with the same name who are sisters.
re: Scoot's wings and not flying, I think it's less wing size and more a lack of magic. We KNOW there is magic involved in flying, as when Tirek sucked all the magic from the Pegasus they ceased being able to fly, which suggests that flying involves, to some degree, innate Pegasus magic. And we know small wings can still fly b/c Bulk Biceps has Scoot sized wings but can still fly(awkwardly, but he can). So logically, Scoot SHOULD be able to fly even with small wings. UNLESS the issue is like, a lack of natural magic or something. And you can't just train that away (as we see by Scoot literally never managing to fly. (Also we DO see an adult Scoot who ALSO still has small wings, so, perhaps a touch of both? but again, Bulk can fly with tiny wings so).
Might be some nerve damage physically or a similar idea for magic like leylines or channels in other media

One of my favorite theories is that the episodes don't take place in chronological order. Stuff like Celestia saying how its been a whole year since Luna returned in the season 4 premiere means the first 3 seasons have to take place within a single year, and Tank's first hibernation being in season 5 means that the entirety of season 4 has to not only take place before Tank's first winter with RD, but also has to take place after the first year because Twilight has her wings. As someone who's mapping out the timeline, I've actually made it work surprisingly, hopefully I can finish it soon.

My "Ye Olde MLP Theory" back from the early days of the show was that Celestia and Luna were accidentally birthed from the Equestrian national flag by Discord during his tyrannical reign, thus creating the alicorn race and leading to his defeat.

Afterwards, because she was able to use the magic so well, Discord theorizes that she might be very very distantly related to him, which might explain her weird abilities in the show
The “Luna and Chrysalis being the same pony” theory reminds me of a fanfic reading called “Love In All It’s Forms”. Where Chrysalis is Luna’s daughter.
With the "rocks are alive/sentient" theory, there's more evidence behind it that I've noticed. In the episode that Mud Briar is introduced, he shows Pinkie his pet stick. But Pinkie makes a comment along the lines of "it's just a stick" as if Boulder just being a rock isn't on the same level as having a stick for a pet.

The dead girls theory really took me back. I remember hearing that one and other "This kids' show was actually based on a really tragic real life event that totally happened" creepypastas when I was a kid. I also heard a very similar one about Hey Arnold that said the show's creator met some kid with a sad life while he was visiting New York and he based the entire show on him. Stupid creepypasta conspiracy theories about cartoons are pretty nostalgic for me. Dumb as they were, I know I listened to them as a kid thinking they were the darkest shit ever.
Let’s not forget an old classic that can’t really be proven or disproven: the Pinkie that remains at the end of Too Many Pinkie Pies is not the same one from every episode prior.
I think it totally checks out that pinkie wasn't adopted, as a ponies passions dont seem to necesarilly be a genetic trait passed down from parents to kids in the mlp universe.
Most ponies we see that have the same passions as their biological parents also live with them or were raised by them, if only for a little when they were small. (Or they were raised by an older sibling that also picked up interests from their parents, thus passing them onto the kid when taking care of them), so even if pinkie was indeed adopted, that doesn't mean that it would be the reason she loves parties, since she was still raised by the pies.
The show has more of a nurture over nature approach when it comes to passions and cutie marks i think.
As to where her passion for parties then comes from, if not from some other parents we dont know about, i feel like people focus a bit too much on her being a party planner, instead of *why* shes a party planner.
She just loves making people smile, and i think that's the most important part of her character.
This is more of my own theory ig, but i believe that this love for making others smile actually comes from the way she was raised by the pies. While shes def different from her parents personality wise, i still think they have a lot in common.
I like to think that the pies are very family oriented, and that they are also very hardworking, since you kind of have to be both of those things you wanna live in the middle of nowhere on a farm with no other ponies nearby.
Pinkie is both of those things, since she obviously loves her sisters and parents a ton. She wasn't as interested in the same things as they were tho, (that being the farm work and the rocks) so it would make sense for her to still want to be of use and to want to find an alternative way to provide for her family, one that she enjoyed as well.
Since her family never threw elaborate parties, she just hadn't considered parties as the thing that could help her do that before she saw the rainboom and how colorful and beautiful the explosion of colors was.
She could be a singer or a dancer or whatever if something other than the rainboom had inspired her, but as long as the motivation for her passion was to make others smile, i think it would still make sense for her character.
Regarding her different color scheme, im pretty sure it's mentioned in the show that she has an "aunt pinkie" so (assuming that she gets that name from her color scheme, i dont remember if thats confirmed in the show) theres people in the pie family with pink fur, but maybe the genes for having a pink mane/fur color just aren't as strong as the genes for having gray fur? Thats just a theory ofc, but its still pretty fun.

14:39 one of my headcanons for this is that the stars and galaxies are as big as in real life including the Sun, but there was some incomprehensibly ginormous magical feat (one that surely couldn’t have been done by one being) a really really really long time ago that shrunk the sun to less than the size of the moon and moved it closer to earth while lowering its temperature to keep earth alive, while also bringing the moon closer to earth and shrinking that as well. The manipulation of the sun like that absolutely destroyed the solar system, with everything flying elsewhere in the Milky Way Galaxy or burned up by the Sun, and the stuff the sun lost being left behind as a nova type remnant. In present day Equestria, there’s barely any documentation of the former solar system, with the most documented being Saturn (due to that ringed planet that shows up in I think Sparkle’s Seven?), but for the others, there are only some magically created photographs and some papers, or no one ever even knew they existed.
The Rarity Mindcontrolling theory reminded me a lot of the Howl's Moving Castle book!

I saw in one (literally just one) fic on Fimfiction that Discord and the Spirit of Harmony are related (brother and sister in the fic) which I like to think of, and even expand upon as the SoH being a Draconequus (but in the literal sense of the word as per Cheerilee’s definition of, “head of a pony, body of a dragon”, if ever seen to take that form) seeing as Discord of the Spirit of Chaos/Disharmony. Sadly, as far as I’ve been able to find, no one’s ever spoken about this / speculated on it. I think it’s a cool idea, especially for fanfiction, like maybe there’s a whole council of draconequi where each opposing spirit is assigned to a universe each.
Q is discord is canon to me. he didnt want his ponysona to be an alicorn so he came up with discord instead. (ignore me watching both mlp and tng as a kid fried my brain)
It was interesting and fun to take a look back at these fan theories and how possible they could have been. I always like seeing how they theories came to be and if they could work in the series. Awesome video!!

I think there's a lot more than people think to the theory that Scootaloo just never learned how to fly. Her wings are plenty strong enough to routinely propel her to high speeds on her scooter, but that isn't how they're meant to be used. We know she can use them the wrong way, but we aren't even sure she knows how to use them the right way. You'd think literally any pegasus could take her aside and try to help her fly, but it never happens no matter how much she struggles. Even after Rainbow Dash agreed to teach her everything she knows, it just... never actually happens. If even one time someone actually tried to help her, we'd have a lot more information to work with, but the fact is no one did.

I always thought it was a bit odd how defensive the Cakes seemed about their twins not being earth ponies. My high school friend group was very into MLP and I managed to half-convince them that Celestia was the Cake twins real father - obviously it was never actually more than a joke but we all treated it as canon anyway.
To my knowledge "Discord gets released because the CMC are fighting" is the actual intended interpretation, but I agree that's dumb and the Gala thing makes more sense.

One thing that could add to the egg fluke theory is that sunburst was in celestia’s school. Sunburst is seen throughout the show to have weak magic, he admits it to starlight, and in the crystalling he has to visibly jump to put in a shard of the crystal heart. Needless to say he would not have been able to hatch an egg as an adult, let alone a filly, especially since twilight couldn’t do it without the sonic rainboom.
But also with the scootaloo ones, isn’t she disabled? I thought it was confirmed/ canon that she had too small wings.
I've never heard the theory about the Grand Galloping Gala releasing Discord before, but that's actually really cool. I don't buy the ritual part, but the chaotic and disastrous gala being the first crack in the wall for awakening Discord makes a ton of sense.

The rocks one actually is canon on some level. Boulder has consciously done things on screen before. In “Maud Pie”, Maud puts a sandwich in front of him, and in the next frame showing him, the sandwich is gone, leaving behind crumbs. In “The Gift of Maud Pie”, Maud complains about Boulder wandering off. She also mentions Boulder having opinions. In “Uncommon Bond”, Maud is polishing rocks next to the mirror pool with Boulder beside her. In the next frame we see her, there are TWO Boulders with a puddle of water underneath them, implying that Boulder went into the mirror pool and duplicated himself. At the very least, Boulder is more sentient than we give him credit for.
