I have watched a couple of your videos and I will continue to learn from you. I love the fact that you are showing us when things don't always work out just the way you thought it would. These are things that will happen to us and it is good to see how you resolved the problem. Thanks!
Tim Singer has a very clear voice and the tone is awesome for presentations on CZcams. You are organized and your instructions approaches the sub matter methodologically. No misunderstanding is allowed the instructions presentation.
Greetings Sir.I would like to thank you so much for your kindness.Allow me to say this ... my professor couldn't make it simple like you did, so the class could understand it.You are a lifesaver.Keep up the good work thank you again.
Hi Tom. Thank you so much for the lession. I have a question for you: After I scaled my drawing in viewport to 1"=10', ALL the dimensions in the drawing disappeared. The only way I can make the dimension visible is print not to scale. Please advise me how to print to scale but STILL have all dimension visible on the drawing. Thank you very much again!
Tom, maybe you can answer a question I have or point me to another of your videos. I started using SSM and have figured out the title block fields including revision level. Is there a way to revise the paper space tab number to use the same information the title block receives? i.e. Using 01 as a tab number. The title block has a field for revision. SSM has the custom field set up and you enter 'A' for a first revision. The block updates with this information, but my tab still reads '01'. I would like the tab name to also index to '01A'. Thanks in advance - James
Hey there, I am working on this project in AutoCad 2016 and I made two layouts, one is Plan and another one is Elevation. Paper size is 11'x17''. I need to lock the scale to 1'=1' for Plan view while the elevation need to be set at 1/2"=1'. The plan layout just worked perfectly according to the scale but now I am getting a problem with the layout having elevation view, the 1/2'=1' is saying 4.17% which is really small. What am I missing? Could you please help. Thank you
Thanks for this video. I need a little help here. In the step described in at 1:24 to put a viewport in, when I clicked on the view tab, I don't have the option to select a rectangular viewport. What I have is Viewport Configuration which is disabled and on the bottom instead of Viewports like yours mine says Model Viewports. Thanks in advance for your help.
Arian Leon Hello Arian, i had the same problem as you... I went to the "Layout" tab (AutoCAD2013) and used the rectangular. Link helps a lot: autocadtips1.com/2012/04/01/autocad-2013-paper-space-viewports/
Why not just input 0,0 ENTER when pasting the title block to the layout? Why not just copy the first Layout with the A size paper for the B size? Why stretch the title block? It is better to just adjust the printable area of the paper in the plotter.
how do you link the text "Scale 1:1 with the drawing scale, so that when you choose a scale, the text will not say what the scale is (in this case, 1:2)?
Lindsay, it could be several items that cause that. most common: you have placed the text on the "def points" layer or on a layer that is turned off to plotting.
dimensions disappear when you change the scale of your plan from the original scale. Check this tutorial for clarification. Good luck with your work. /watch?v=SihSQByuD6I

A good AutoCAD title block has auto-populated fields, like page numbers. This is not it.
Thank you for good explanation
