This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences - Entrepreneur Lesley Hayes looks at Transforming Transformational Leadership - Switch OFF: Leadership = Power Switch ON: Transform Transformational Leadership. Switching leadership from a Problem of THEM to a Challenge for ME. The ultimate arrogance of leadership is others must follow. What if the only one we CAN help is ourselves? What if, ‘Being the Change we want in the World’ is leadership. That WHO we are matters most.
Entrepreneur, academic, wife and mom. I have founded, built, sold and been challenged by businesses since I was 25. Trained as a graphic designer, recently completing an MBA and working away on a PHD in Entrepreneurship. I am passionately exploring Leadership, in theory and in real life. I serve on the boards of a few public companies, love our small business in Costa Rica, am the Global Chair of the Leadership Committee for Entrepreneur’s Organization and volunteer in my local community. I am halfway through my journey to learn, love and laugh with amazing people from all over the planet, swapping stories and experiences to learn and grow.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
Thank you for talking about Transforming transformational leadership !
thank you so much. the "think', 'feel', 'execute', 'engage' is a very interesting concept of transformational leadership.
a good leader should always trust his/her employees and motivate them.. great talk on transformational leadership
OMG Thank-you. This gift is priceless, so very true and completely humbling
As a leader, whether elected or paid, it is your role to stand in the breech when something needs doing to keep things afloat; however, it is important to allow the people who need to follow feel part of the process. This is an excellent talk on how to do that, it is what Stephen R Covey calls the Third Alternative.

Great advice! Thanks a lot for sharing.
Thank you very much for the encouraging talk.
This concept is more aligned with servant leadership. Transformational leadership is centred around organizational goals rather than team members from what I have understood up till now. I appreciate your ideas and the concept of 'transforming' transformational leadership.
Because many are sharing their own experiences

Why do so many Ted Talk speakers discuss themselves rather than deliver a message?
Story telling is the art of communication effectiveness.
their experience is the message
Can someone share the essence of this talk?
Nice
useful
Good
આભાર
The wrap-up did not mesh with the proceeding 17 minutes...
The message was "listen and get out of the way." I played at 2x speed, and still it was time wasted.
well, she is from canada. suggest should should have just asked an NHL coach. problem solved in about an hour
who invited her to Talk.
