  • How I went about creating order out of a tangled mess! It had been two or more years since I gathered all my threads in one place and got them in order. What a job, but so rewarding! Now I know exactly what I have and that inspires my creativity!
    While this video does not contain any paid endorsements, I do use many different threads and mention them by brand throughout this video.
    The following are affiliate links for which I may receive a small amount at no extra cost to you, should you make a purchase through one of these links. Your purchases through these links help me to continue to make videos! Thank you!

    Holy sh*t that's a huge collection! There's just something so neat about seeing all those slightly different shades next to eachother.

    I once owned a craft shop so as you can imagine I have a massive collection of thread that is overwhelming me. Thank you for inspiring me and giving me a pointer of how to start.

    I was so confused when you called the bobbins cards. I learned they were bobbins and I didn't get what you meant! You have quite the collection. I wish I had this amount of supplies for bracelet making and crossstitching😍

    I did the same and used Artbin divided super satchels. I wound all my DMC on plastic bobbins and organized by number so I could pull what I needed for individual projects. I used bigger satchels for projects and threads I didn't want to put on bobbins, mostly specialty threads. Love your channel and videos and seeing your craft room coming along!

    Great to see your process. About 98% of my threads are dmc because they were gifted to me, so I just put them in bags by color family. I do have some on cards but don't like the creases. Love your channel.

    • @IvoryBlushRoses
      @IvoryBlushRoses  Před 4 lety

      I had a lot of mine in plastic bags... which led to the problem of not being able to find what I was looking for. I find that once I separate my threads and put them back together for stitching, the creases don't bother me. If they do, when I'm doing something like satin stitch, then I run them through a travel curling iron quickly and the creases are gone!

    wow...you are fast...oh, that was on speed dial...just kidding...great job...I got a couple things I will try that never thought of...I do have two boxes of extras or duplicates for my threads. but I use the same system of the cards...never thought of putting then on the sides like that...I do sort mine by type of thread, pearl, cotton, rayon etc. good job...

    This is so amazing! Very inspirational, and I adore your decor. If you would be so kind, I would love to know what containers you are using to store your DMC. I haven't been able to find any which hold the bobbins the right way up, like yours are. Thank you!

      The containers I use are either from DMC or whatever containers I can find at Michaels in the Embroidery supplies or at Hobby Lobby.

    Hi from France. I storage my threads in drawers with DMC cardboards, like you. But I discovered a new method to use thread, with Drop. But the inconvenient is that we can't use bobbin and Drop both. So I wonder which is better. In bobbins or in Drop. There is advantage and inconvenient for this 2 methods

    I did like you: cleaning the flush. But, why did you cut your thread? Me, I had the plastic like you and I just roll the thread around. Is there something that I don’t know??

    • @IvoryBlushRoses
      @IvoryBlushRoses  Před 3 lety

      I only cut the Pearl Cotton that comes in hanks. Making one cut across the hank makes each threat the length I like for stitching with it. All my cotton stranded floss is wrapped on plastic bobbins.

    Can I use this type of thread in machines??

    • @IvoryBlushRoses
      @IvoryBlushRoses  Před 4 lety

      The majority of these threads are for hand stitching only. Most of them are too bulky for using in a machine.
