This video came up randomly recommended to me. I've never heard of this guy or this game. I'm not sure what I just watched, but I'll be damned if it wasn't skill. That was awesome.
i still don't understand how the next thing to do comes so natural in your mind, i have over 300 hours only of playing, loved automating the rockets fully and building train rails from all over the map to supply the raw materials but i never was able to think so fast on what to do next, can you give us some insight on that? did you just memoriez everything you need to do? because it looks like the spark of a genius the way you just do things you supposed to do next. would really appreciate an answer
This + planning an effective positionning of things and leaving room for future buildings while thinking about what and when to craft, yeah pretty much everything in these speedruns amazes me, so much shit to think about and yet Nefrums looks so calm and focused, I never thought a speedrun would be that relaxing ^^ But yeah as Timey said this is all about practice, Nefrums tried a shit-ton of different designs that's how you memorize things
Yeah this guy practices doing it all over and over as fast as possible. He probably has 20x the time played as you and half of that is probably world record attempts lol
I would watch a video of you where you analyze your process and where time gains are, or where they were historically :) Also you seem like a programmer, there's a lot you can do with LUA in factorio. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to just load the seeds and read out the resources to look for the best map? Probably would take forever :)
There's the map generator screen, a screenshot command and probably some python library that will do a histogram to maybe filter out the resource types, idk :)
Shift+right click to copy, shift+left click to paste. Works on assemblers splitters, chests etc. You can even copy from an assembler to a requester chest.
Held Z key. It is the "drop" key, and it drops 1 unit of what you're holding. Can be used to drop ammo on turrets too, or other stuff into other buildings.
Very likely that he planned everything very well in advance but Any% rules say you must not bring any blueprints. So no blueprint for you, but you can repeat it in your own game and make a blueprint of that.
I started speedrunning because of you and i can proudly say that my first time was not bad at 5:34:01 i just need to shave of 4 hours and 3 min 😁

He makes it look easy but actually the entire build is carefully planned and practiced over and over to reach this high speed of playing.

After watching several videos of your speedruns, I started speedrunning myself. Current PB is like 5 hours but having fun all the time.

People have written scripts to find the best maps. I believe the map in use with this build was found that way.

What is he using to copy-paste the outputs of assemblers in one click? When I do Ctrl-C i always have to drag a little window first.
