He's right when people look at individual stats and not the performance, but look at United's games without him, then compare. He helps the team more than himself, and I think that's what he's trying to convey in all of his interviews - it's not himself, it's for the CLUB.

Grammar between English and Romance languages such as Portuguese are quite different and conjugations are often more consistent in English in the third person so it’s just easier for a non-native speaker to talk like that, especially when he’s talking about himself in the view of others.

@@ryangallagher1820 still it doesn’t take living there to be able to. I’m a Kenyan in Kenya and I speak English pretty fluently (with a Kenyan accent ofc...just like Bruno, Ronaldo etc have a Portuguese accent)
I am from USA living in Portugal and I speak with the locals in English. Majority of them speak perfectly.
