Bringing two different chamois to change every 12-24 hours is a pro tip and glad to hear you recommend it and practice it. Helps to put on a fresh clean dry chamois that has a different pad structure to reduce discomfort on soft tissue.
yes! makes a huge difference for me.
Such an informative Video 👌
Glad you think so!
Really really helpful video! Thanks!
glad to be of help!!
This video is a gold mine of tips. Thanx!
wooo glad it was helpful!!
Some top tips! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the tips, I especially appreciated the gear ration info, as I had previously a discussion with friends about it, and you basically confirmed my opinion.
happy to help! the more gears the better for these kinds of races!
Mucha suerte en Badlands 2023!!🚴♂👏👏
Gracias!!!
Great vid, thanks. Doing the Termes 53 in May so these will come in handy. BTW Bocadillos can have everything in there, queso, tomate, tortilla francesa etc. Not exclusively meat...
now someone tells me this!!! might have to go back to badlands again to get round 3 of bocadillos with the fancy fixin's.
hy Cynthia, with a list like this I could do an ultraride and look like a veteran. most of your tips are good for long distance travellers as well.
I'm impressed how you meticulously analyse every single aspect of the race, I think that really makes the difference when racing.
wow thank you! we learn from our mistakse and continue to get better as we go!

Great tip & explanation of why a different second pair of bibs: different hot spots. I will add that to my repertoire. Did I pronounce that right: repertoire 😂
lol I think yes you nailed it! And 100% using two different bibs. the only way to go!
Kind bars and nuts have a ton of fiber. They absolutely destroy my gut.
they destroyed mine too! I definitely avoid nuts when racing at this high pace. for something longer I would probably eat nuts occasionally for some protein.
I saw a bike check of Badlands just before this video... I wish they saw this before the race 😂😂😂
everyone makes their own choices 🤣
I took a titanium stove, mug and tiny gas. Made coffee (instant 3in1) and it was GOOD 🤪 Congrats on your ride 🚀🚀
I was wishing for coffee at some point 🤤 !!!! Congrats to you on your ride as well!!!
@@wattwagon many omelettes were consumed, some better than others! 🤦🏻♂
@@EvidenceofaFabulousLife the omlettes!!! I have to say i really like tortillas and I am not a huge egg fan. they are just so tasty.
Thanks for the tips. What is the cutoff time at the finish for Badlands?
the cut off for badlands is Friday at 6pm I believe! and thank you!!
128 hours (Friday 4PM)
thanks for the correction!@@TheRealMichaelB
@@wattwagon - Unfair advantage for me - You were racing FTW; I was racing the the timecut ! 😜
Long Chicken FTW! 😂
FTW!!!!!!
What camera are you using?
Depends on the race! The clips at the beginning were from a DJI drone. The video here was recorded on a sony (not mine so I can't say what model). When I am racing I film on a DJI Action 3 and my iphone 12 pro.
TUMS ftw, as well as Immodium juuuuust incase shit hits the fan
That person on that plane wishes they had immodium now I bet.
better to be safe than sorry 😂
oooh good point! I never thought about that- for the longer races I will definitely carry it.
Nice video but you are utterly mispronouncing brevet and it niggles the hell out of me :)
even worse I studied french for 8 years...
No she isn’t !
@@cathschofield7488 for the record, she is. but does that really matter?
