With the battery mod, the DJI Action2 is the most convenient to use between the 2 here. I noticed when I have the battery mod attached, it doesn't get warm too fast. And even with modules clipped on the camera unit, the Action2 still remains lightweight and portable.
How long can the Action 2 record in 4k30 and 4k60 after the latest firmware with the high heat setting turned on + the power module cube attached? Once it overheats how long before it can record again?
The Action 2 is a surprisingly handy piece! I had it on my last trip and got no issues with the camera during that time. I used it like most tourists do. Some quick snapshots of this and that and done plenty of short videos. No heavy recording and stuff but the camera was very well-used.

I have a sneaking suspicion that some of the samples in this video come from an earlier version of the firmware of the Action 2 (maybe also earlier GoPro firmware) so they have to be viewed in that light. Correct me if I'm wrong. As memory serves me, some of the earlier comparisons on this channel were used by DJI as motivation for the FW update - they confessed that they were not happy with some aspects of the picture quality. Personally I'm very happy with my Action 2 - but I suggest purchasers forget the name, and just assess it for what it is, not what it's called.
How is it a negative if te GoPro H10 follows the same mounting system? You can add a magnetic mount to the GoPro if you wanted...
Very nice video, the right mix with the drone-shots! Just a minor remark: on 5'25" it looks like it is so quick to change but it not that quick. You had the clip in between already which makes it impossible to lock with the two side-clips. Don't get me wrong, I love my dji action 2. On a side note, when you switch of the stabilisation while using on a tripod or with a very stable hand, it is unbelievable how wide the action 2 can film. (I have the 1100 euro Laowa 12mm zero-d lens on my sony and it doesn't come close!)

Hello does the action 2 camera truly have major overheating issues? Information across the internet is quite mixed.
hi bro. i have been filming for 15-20 minutes with it attached to my chest on my motorbike and no problem. You may have some problems filming indoors at higher frame rates for longer periods of times though - happened to me once, but I was with the heater on at home :)
From what I’ve seen, as long as you’re actually moving and getting some wind to hit the camera, that helps cool down the cameras. Also the overheating happens more when recording 4K 120fps

the best camera is the camera you will use more often, I don't do extrem sport everyday, I will go for DJI action 2
After seeing this I'm glad I went with the Gopro 10 to be honest, it looks like for an action camera to many things could go wrong, I still use the Osmo 1 as well, it is a tough little camera that has worked well for me on my moving vehicle but other than that I wasn't really that happy with it ether other than it's tough build, with the underwater case the number 2 actually looks a lot bigger and not as good quality as the Gopro 10 as well.
Have you encountered any bugs with the hero 10 ?. Im thinking of getting one.
@@silverpro8356 It can overheat at 5.3k. if you are using it out of the water for longer periods, but other then that I haven't found a problem.
Want to buy an action 2 for travel without taking my entire camera set up with me, but tbh action 2 & gopro video ootage both looks horrible like at 02:54 for example.

I will be sending action2 back. Seems like a good concept until it's a little bit wet outside. Then it fails outright. Small on board memory, small on board batt. Add to that overheating at 12 mins @2700 30fps. It's not good. Maybe for short vlogs only.

Definitely going for a Action 2 rather than a GoPro next time
With the SD card issues on the GoPro, I’ll be going with the Action 2
Zero issues with Hero 10 and SD card. If you experienced an issue it was either defective card or one with the incorrect white speed.

Unbiased opinion: Hero 10 produces a better image with longer recording time. Action 2 is more compact for mounted scenarios where size is paramount. I kept the Hero 10 and sent the Action2 back.
It's hard to notice it first because cameras nowadays have improved so much. But have the Action 2 shots on a side by side with GP10's and it will be easy to see that the Action 2 has a more superior image quality

Yeah, GoPro is definitely the Android, it's open in terms of API, mount copywriting, and they don't go around threatening researchers lol.
How long does it take for the Action2 to copy a 30min video file to the battery pack for copying over to PC / SD card?
I used to have the Osmo Action which was a great action camera but sadly I lost it in a bike trip. So I was waiting for the Action 2 before I decided which camera to buy. And to be honest I was disappointed.
I use the camera mainly in my motorcycle trips so what I want from it are some simple things:
1. To be rugged and the lens to be easily replaceable
2. To be waterproof or at least water resistance.
3. Be able to record 2 to 3 hrs of footage without much hassle
4. Be able to change settings quickly and on the fly.
5. Give recent video quality
Action 2 may be innovated and good looking but it doesn’t do very well in the first 4 points or at least is far behind the Go Pro. I mean they even abandon the quick profile shooting system which was so good in the Osmo Action and they didn’t even bother to equip the basic module with decent 64Gb memory and some better battery life.
It looks to me that DJI made another camera for Vbloggers and I don’t know why since they already have the Pocket in the market.
As for you comment regarding Android and iPhone, generally speaking Android is better, apart if you are an Apple fun boy .
Agree whole heartedly, the Action 2 should have been like an Action Air, and then release a real Action 2 built on the pros of the Action 1.

I prefer the GP10
DJI is not suitable for a blog at all. If you do not turn on the leveling of the horizon, then the whole picture floats, it makes you dizzy when viewing. And when the horizon leveling is turned on in 4K, it does not know how to shoot. Video quality is worse than GoPro. DJI only writes better sound.
