Oh my God! That sizing thing you said is so so true. I was doing it for a very long time. Trying to fit into the smallest of the sizes of everything and today, I realize how silly I was back then. Your mentioning it here is definitely going to act as a booster for me. Keep going!!
Turn this into a series so that we can also learn from your mistakes. Also, Prerna, you can try using the cleaning liquid which metro or certain other shoe brands sell, they really help me to clean all my shoes( even suede ) , maybe they can make your white sneakers a bit more white.
Could you suggest any cleaning liquid brand names?

I agree solidly on the sizing part: I'm an XS but I gladly take L in hoodies and tees. Like you, I'm also a pear shaped body, and maybe that's why when we size up in jeans it's more flattering. My waist is 24 but when I buy 28 size jeans, it flatters my bums more because it doesn't look like they're going to burst of the jeans. Great job as always. :)
The size thing is so true.
I generally wear skinny jeans and my size 28. When mom jeans, bf jeans and other kind of jeans came into trend I just couldn't fit into size 28 but having to go a size up and trying 29 made me think I was getting too fat. Even with size 29,i didn't look as good as other people wearing them. But I just didn't wanted to size up at all. Having a pear shaped body with thick thighs as insecurity made it even harder. Recently I tried a size 30 wide leged pants and it was perfect on my thighs and with a little alteration on the waist part, the jeans looked so good on me. It's my favorite jeans now. This made me realize that how stuck on we are about the size. But now I'm not afraid to try different sizes. So, just don't be afraid to try a size bigger or smaller. The clothes are meant to fit you and not the other way around.

Yasss!!! I always pick 2 or 3 sizes of the same product in store for trial or even online to make sure it fits perfect... doesn't matter if it's XS or M..!!

Agree 💯 with the sizing mistake! A lot of times, we look classy with a more relaxed fitting dress than one that clings and shows tyres around the tummy. Loose tees with sleeves ending at the elbow or even below look more cool and have a slimming effect than tight body hugging tees with short sleeves ending at flabby arms.
It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge our mistakes, and you are sharing yours with so much grace! Love ya💖
It was really heart warming to see you Sharing your mistakes ...❤I am a girl for whom sometimes xs becomes oversized ..so I always used to look for the perfect fit but then I realized it's all about styling and now I can slay even my father's sweater that is xxl🤣🤣 and trust me it feels soo good to see your imagination turning into reality just the way you have imagined that......❤

This would be so knowledgeable and a great tip. And I can not agree more on wearing a size larger than your size, as I too have found wearing a large size more comfortable and flattering.i love you so much ❤❤❤

Omgggg the last point resonated sooo much with me! I used to be the same up until last year so much so that I have two trousers in my wardrobe with "tags still on" that I purchased a size smaller (on purpose thinking ki nhi Main "M" kaise ho sakti hun, I am alwayssss "S" and that ki I would lose weight and then i was gonna fit into these trousers blah blah...). The point is that I too was sooo hung up on the sizing and I regret some purchases now but eventually I learned that sizing does not matter at all! It is the fit that matters! Lovely video Prerna ❤️

Nice to know your thoughts. After my 2 deliveries my body shape had changed, which I am sure is the case with most women with pregnancy and delivery experience. I am now at the weight I was targeting for. However, from the journey of pregnancy to post delivery weight reduction i have always had issues with bottoms since I have pear shaped body. Whenever I used to visit store I would always pick 2 to 3 sizes to see how different sizes look on me overall. Your last point on jeans actually reminded me of that.
I completely agree with the sizing mistake… I used to get angry on my husband when he used to tell me to try one size bigger just to see the difference, I used to take it as an insult, but now I have understood that it really makes a difference sometimes.

Yeah the sizing thing is true. Which is why i try pants before i buy now. To see what size is more comfortable
OMG I was finally giving up on heels and considering sneakers and everyone was telling me to get white ones and I was like no they will get dirty n I am too lazy. I am glad I was right.
My tip on sizing is partly from ur earlier video. I always get ethnic pieces esp the festive ones in one size up and get it sized to myself by tailor. They fit too well and not like the oddly fitted clothes that everyone is wearing.
The "sizing" mistake and the "white shoes" mistake is something that I too have committed and it's so relaxing to find out that sometimes our concerns could be so frivolous. Thank you for this video. Take care, Prerna Di.

Loved this video ❤️❤️ just a tip for the sneakers...coat your newly bought white shoes with either clear wax or clear nail polish topper..voila! It becomes weather proof

My clear na ilpolish hack is to coat all artificial jewellry with clear polish. It helps prevent blackening or losing the stones. Even ethnic chappals or heels with stones, a clear coat and they will never fall out.

i saw your video for the first time today, and i love your video. There are times when what looks good today, after some time, months or even years, seems to be why we styled it or why we wore it? you told everything very well, and how well you speak.

I think the low cut blouse with a necklace like yours uplifts the look and makes it more classy with the palla style you have. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Also, how the woman is shaped in the chest makes or breaks the blouse style, if you catch my drift. For example, imagine Katrina Kaif wearing this look versus Vidya Balan. Also, I agree with you on sizes! Depending on a brand, I fit in S, M and L clothes. 🤷🏻♀️ it’s what looks appropriately tailored on us that matters. And fast fashion brands like Zara, etc. make their clothes in sweatshops where the goal is to get supplies out the quickest, not good tailored clothes according to “correct size”. Lastly, chunky white shoes trend needs to go!! It’s been around since 2018!

Thanks for the white shoe tip, I was just about to buy some high end shoes and you saved my buck. But you know what now I have thought to buy some white footwear other than shoes like strapped sandal, boots or gladiators in faux leather or pu leather material so that it can be cleaned in one swipe and it would be an investments for long. Loved the video tho❤️💕

Hi Prerna, I've been watching your videos for a while, love your channel! ❤ Just wanted to suggest one thing for the white shoes in case you have not come across / tried this trick already. If they are made of normal sneakers material or cloth material (like Con verse) then you can wash them in the washing machine and they come out looking brand new. I have washed my black and white Converse shoes this way, and the white looked sparkling clean. Just a tip in case you haven't tried yet! ☺
Hey di! I hope you're doing good! I am 21 year old, This is something like your last point! I ordered a wide leg jeans and as my usual size is 28 n thin pear type, i ordered one in 26 n other jeans in 28. Now pear body type problems came hopping, just 26 wala jeans chadhane m tighs pr tight hai, searched the whole yt k bhai esa mera hi hai k sabka hai, n 28 is very loose on my waist, doesn't give me that look! Finally felt yaar me b moti ho gai kyaa.. then i thought wait, ye jeans hi to hai. Ab 26 pehnu k 28, it has to be worth the money I invest. Finally have decided 28 ko rkhege. Obviously I request a hack to make the jeans look perfect on my waist ( high waist jeans h)! Felt so, because of fashion but that I thought n same chiz aapne boli to mujhe laga I should tell you 😍 n btw you look gorgeous 😍

Good content!! In the first “mistake”, I think you were instinctively trying to hide cleavage without realizing. Like we South Asian women do 😊. The new styling with a thin sari looks great and I see that you hid your cleavage with the long necklace. I’m older than your mom but enjoy your tasteful fashion videos.

Thanks Prerna, super helpful video, and what you have said about tshirt on wearing a larger size is actually very true. I love my husband's collection of T-shirts but he buys L size and i wear size S usually but now as oversize baggy tshirts are so much in trend and comfortable to wear too, I don't think before wearing my husband's t-shirts.
