  • Today for the first #WolfeRidgeWednesday we have ‪@lillysfarmfirewood‬'s New #17VS splitter in the woodyard for certification testing on the new iGX390 engine. Thanks to all the hard work by the #WolfeRidge crew getting this new wood splitter dialed in even more! There is no question, this splitter has changed the game!!
    Also very pleased to announce that we added a great friend to the team here at Wolfe Ridge! Bob Nelson and I met back in 2017 at our first trade show in Oshkosh WI farm days. We have always had a great working relationship in the firewood industry and I think he will help us continue to grow in the years to come, please help me welcome Bob to the #WolfeRidgeFamily

    Good job on the vertical splitter. Like that the lift table rises last level to help those big rounds slide on to work surface and placement of pedal doesn't have you extending leg up under machine to reach it. No constantly supporting yourself on one leg.

    That thing looks slick! I watched a guy use one of those hobby homeowner tractor supply horizontal/vertical deals in the vertical position and my back hurt just watching him, lol, my boss built a few different splitters that we use for our firewood business but they are slow and the only commercial built splitter I’ve used that I liked was a spitfire and I know I can put out product with one but I dare say this vertical rig you guys have put together looks damn good, 1 cord in an hour is pretty damn good, it takes me 2 hours with the one I use at work because of how slow it is

    Can't wait for the video of the "sister machine". With a bigger motor and I'm guessing higher flow pump. It should be even faster if that's the case or stronger if a larger cylinder is used. I'm thinking your guys got this model dialed in about as much as possible at this point. Thanks for showing the "tuned in" version of this model Chris. The more I look at this design, the better it looks to me.
    On a totally different subject, who is that Bob guy? I am not making a joke. It seems like folks in the comments know who he is but I don't have a clue. Anyway, thanks again for the video.

    Verticle machines are great for the ergonomics and fast when splitting to a specific size. They just don't work well for a one-legged🦿 dude. Good to see you at Wolf Ridge Bob!👍

  • @DaleFarrish
    @DaleFarrish Před 8 měsíci +3

    I was pretty sure that Bob would end up here. He will do well for your company Chris. I think a table extension for the tote side would be a great option. Same as the log lift but just a manual flip up one that doesn't kill the price. This would allow the stacker person time to move behind the operator and stage the next round while the operator continues to split then go back to stack the splits. Would also give the stacker more time to change out totes too. And nice machine.

    Just looking at it I think cosmetics need to be played with a tad as it seems a bit drab looking. I don't like the large model placard on the front of the operators station, I feel that space should be for the large Wolf Ridge placard and the model sticker should be off to the side or up on the stripper blocks. The machine is awesome but cosmetics do matter to the consumer and getting that correct alone can increase sales. The one thing I've always loved about WR spitters is how badass they look, you guys have always been above everyone else in that respect. Just my opinion as I look at it.
