The john deer that smoked like a tuned diesel was pretty awesome, how'd they get a chainsaw engine to do that?
It had an added smoke machine, something used in airplanes to create that effect. Thanks for the comment

Chainsaw engines are what is used. Different classes have different size requirements. The tractors are all hand fabricated.

Why didn't they wet the track down to keep the dust way down?
It was wetted when the pulls started, but dries out in minutes in the heat, and with the top layers being chewed off of it every run.
Where can you get one
All custom fabricated. You can show up to an event, and sometimes members will have one for sale.
