When I look back on my healing journey, I always think about how big of a role therapy has played in helping me become more self aware and love myself deeper. Therapy is a such a great tool for shadow work and recognizing our negative core beliefs, where they come from, and how to unlearn + heal from them. In this video, I share with you guys the life changing lessons that just a few sessions with my therapist taught me.

Childhood trauma really affects our adulthood but I completely agree that it can be unlearned just takes time.

Healing your inner child is so important. 🌟 It's crazy that we are only children for a short time, but it affects the rest of our lives if we don't address the trauma.

Can we talk about how great you are at expressing everything so clearly and with real intent on helping others work through their own trauma.

Yes sitting with negative thoughts! It’s so easy to forget sometimes that we’re still HUMANS at the end of day and we’re supposed to have things like emotions and feelings!

I was a very sensitive kid, I do think that temperament is a huge factor regarding what affects you as a kid. Learning that my childhood affected how I reacted to things as an adult was huge.

Sometimes we seek out therapy as the only way or the answer, but you’re right in that we can do shadow work on our own too. I love to do shadow work through journaling or meditating and then bring my revelations to my therapist to further process with her.

It's actually so easy to relate our feelings to our identity and that's kinda sad. What you said about going from feeling positive one summer to getting negative feelings and questioning your identity is so relatable! Sometimes it's due to things we say to ourselves & other times we take other people's perception of us as the "truth". Your videos always get me thinking and to me, that's honestly the best part!! :)

Literally just got off of video chat with my therapist from Better Help. Literally the best decision I could've made for myself. Constantly seeing all the CZcamsrs I'm subscribed to talk about it finally convinced me to check it out. If you have doubts just go for it. ✨

You know what's the worst part? Most people hear these things all day but minimize them to 'cliches' or think it doesn't apply in their case :( For example, the childhood thing... So much more healing would happen if people just ALLOWED themselves to believe these lessons and teachings

Wow powerful as i too dealt with trauma not being accepted and teased and people not liking me in high school and dealing with truama and people making me feel less valued as a kid and as an adult has carried me to where i am and have experienced people not valuing me as an adult and now knowing this came from childhood and i have never dealt with it. I know that therapy would help me. Thanks for sharing as i become a better version of me

Sometime when you're over saturated look at your environment your plants in music your hobbies the hygiene take care of those things first little by little it actually feels your soul. Just little baby steps it won't go away you just have to get comfortable and how to navigate it in a different direction. You'll be fine and get rid of the negativity in your life the loud voice like friends social media things that doesn't matter that will trigger you self-love self-care self-awareness that all that matters look within your Divine self the answer is always there.

A really good book that takes a deep dive into childhood and it’s effects on our development is “For Your Own Good”, by Alice Miller. Such a powerful study of pedagogy and childhood traumas that we sometimes don’t even realize was actually traumatic.

Hey lynette this isn't a question relating to this video, But i was wondering if you could direct me to that website you use for advice/help on finances. I remember watching one of your videos talking about a program or service you use that helps organize or an accountant that helps with the finances as a self employed creator! Thank you for constantly inspiring and motivating me to be better :)
