Hey I always take my carts to the staging areas in the parking lot, but if they're full I still take them back inside, but that's my choice. Doing that, I still think the Cartnarcs are the true "Karens". It's not illegal to leave your cart, but harassment is. The first cartnarckaren that I see in-person harassing someone, i'm going to enjoy hearing/feeling their lil hollow birdbones go "snap". Cartnarcs are going to harass the wrong person one day and earn themselves a well-deserved Darwin Award.

So, while yes they do pay, it's better to put the cart in the corral or the store because she then has to take an extra 10 minutes to retrieve the lone cart allll the way across the lot.

I used to gather the carts at Walmart and I can tell you we hated it when people wouldn't put their carts in the corrals and it happened hourly. The places we would find carts you wouldn't believe. And on windy days we had to run after loose cart blowing in the wind trying to keep them from hitting cars.

This is why the shopping cart theory exists. People not caring whatsoever about others and their property but would hate if that cart hit their car. They arent capable of simple decency or responsibility.
This is one reason that so many supermarkets in the UK now have a £1 cart deposit; The carts are all nested together, as usual, but you need to put a £1 coin in the slot on the grip to free it up. You get your £1 back when you return your cart properly and nest it back in. It's a simple system that has drastically cut down on these lazy bones just leaving carts everywhere.

Agreed. It would be easy to have an argument with the narc as long as you don't take him/her too seriously. Just riff off of their requests/demands. As long as they don't cross the line and place a cart in front of or behind my car to prevent me from leaving.

I would make the argument that when he placed his hands upon the cart it became his responsibility, so why is he being a lazybones and maliciously placing it behind my vehicle? This is very interesting to me. I am someone who always puts the cart away because I love the rush of adrenaline i get from running to the nearest one (because I like to park far away from the cart returns for a list of reasons).

Yes and the narc could have legitimately not stuck a camera in their face. Human nature being what it is, if you ask me nicely I might put it back. But what good outcome do you think will come from tactics like that? Once you start getting in my face about it, narcs like that make me want to go back to the corral, take all the carts out and surround them with it just out of spite. It's not about the cart at that point. So to say "He could have just put the cart back" doesn't wash. You have already escalated things to the point where climbdown is not possible.

I do too. I used to work in retail and we would have people come into the stores and mess up/destroy displays, pee on the floors, knock down mannaquins and such. When we would ask them to stop, they would always say that they didn't have to because we (the employees) were paid to clean up after them. Just because people are paid to clean up doesn't give someone the right to make things more difficult for them by deliberately leaving nasty messes.

Sitting here in Germany, where every single person puts the cart back, in order to get the 1€ deposit back.
That tiny 1€ has raised us so well, that we never would have thought somebody would leave the cart on a parking spot, unless something really bad happened.
Some of us don''t even know these carts work without the magic coin.
Exactly the same here in the Netherlands. During covid, the shops actually made it so that you didn't need to put a coin in any longer. But this didn't negatively change the behavior of people at all. They still bring them back where they should go. Not doing so is really seen as 'not done' by any normal person.

@Cushingura Is that Aldi, or every store? I know that Aldi is a German company, and it's where I exclusively shop. If I went we elsewhere, I'd still put my cart where it belongs, but at Aldi I get my quarter back. It's the one I keep in the car just for Aldi.

How are people wrong, They have been doing this for years. It's actually the stores job to bring their carts back, and they have paid employees to do it. People are just going by their day, and one dude is trying to ruin it for them, They didn't bother him, but he is bothering them.

I really appreciate this man standing up for the handicapped spots. A lot of ppl don't know the blue lines on the side of the ♿️spot is so you have enough room to get out in your wheelchair
