Hey, another guide :D This time Its for my Frenzy Barbarian, witch Ive been tinkering with.
New build, new gear since back then, but its still a work inn progress as off uploading this video.
I forgot to mention two things: Damage vs life. You can choose to max Battle orders, and not put any points into taunt more than the one. If you are max level 99, you get some better options ofcourse :) Because I took 10 points into taunt and BO, I loss about 600 life, but I get more damage.
Also forgot to mention: If you are using Enigma for PVM to tele, 2x hoto on switch for FCR is very nice, but Im not :)
For you're merc you could also use a pride with prefferd 20 concentration aura. That is really nice damage boost for your own damage, but I still 100% know reapers toll is better so meh :D
For this character to be perfect Id need a better Grief, better Amulet, High LL ring, and 1 more skiller, and some better charms.

Hey just a tip, when using frenzy, you can put it on your right click and use that to move and your barbarian will automatically swing at any mobs you get near.

This really brings me back. I used to play softcore EuNL as well, used d2jsp, made countless of builds. Think I started about 10 years ago and played pretty much every day for 3-4 years. My favourite game of all time and the PvP aspect was legit, although quite frustrating at times(PK and script hammers).
It's amazing to see people are still playing, but you mentioned you stopped? How long did you play for, and if I may ask, how old are you?

I've tried all the classes, and I always go back to the barbarian. Just something about a sword wielding killing machine(and he can use about every weapon in the game).

Okay ill just play around with diff combo. Was just wondering what you thought because doesn't make sense to have two might auras on when I have last wish on my barb right. Thanks for the help
What would do you think if I were to use this same merc set up. But hire a nightmare defensive merc instead and couple holy freeze with decrepify instead of using a nightmare offensive merc for the might aura. I currently have level 17 might aura on my barb because of last wish. Would holy freeze combined with decrepify from reapers slow enemies further then decrepify alone?
David Brunskill Meh, why would you need slow? Id say its only usefull for PvP, but dunno if mercs is allowed inn PvP. Just go with defensive aura then, or other auras. But up to you.
Just a tip, don't use "-windowed" in your launch. It will make the game run smoother. Press enter and type /fps if you need to see specs. This is 2018, I am level 16, all areas discovered, all portals activated, etc...... All that matters is dexterity and strength. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. Now the game is easy to beat at any level. Im 16 because 16 is my lucky number, but you can do this at level 7.
huh O.o To much going on. First of all, performance and Diablo 2 shouldent be a concern outside of bugs or really old hardware. Windows moved mode is the superior way to play any games, at least for me; Down side is the stretched image, but I can live with it.
Glad you find the game easy at 16....If you solo play offline it becomes another game once hell.
Don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but "x% damage goes to mana" does not mean that you lose mana when taking damage, you will actually get the mana. So there's no point in being annoyed of that affix.
Also, deadly strike and crushing blow will never trigger both on one hit. The combined chance of those two, if more than 100%, rather gets corrected down to 100% in total.
For example, if you have 80% crushing blow and 50% deadly strike, the actual chances are ~61,5% for cb and ~38,5% for ds. So stacking those two affixes well beyond 100% is pretty much useless, especially if you are using death in one slot, which already has nearly 100% triggerchance.
Rest seems really well thought through, plus I like that you don't promote enigma. Sadly and wrongfully it's still considered the best chestpiece among most frenzyplayers.

Hey, Djuntas. Very nice build. Just I think I want to mention. For high damage Frenzy Barbarian Grief is not recommended for Frenzy Barbarian because you will lose some of the damage due to 35% chance of Venom on striking. My idea is to use 2 "The Grandfather CB", of course ethereal, because this sword is the highest damaging Unique sword and socketed with Shael rune. This sword has some good stats - max dmg on lvl, stats, bonus to attack rating, life and the most important one it can not be repaired. But this sword is a hard one to find.
How does 35% chance of Venom on striking diminish the damage?

Just so people know, deadly strike and crushing blow do not count on off hand weapons. Main hand is the weapon in your right hand. So on his build here that death is useless. It has to be in your main hand to count the deadly strike and crushing blow.

Really nice. Im making one frenzy barb right now. Im actually going to try tyraels armor instead of forty, and prob botd instead of death. And maybe evem angelic ring+amu for extra ar if needed. Otherwise im so stoked about this build. However im wondering why you made a vita build if you have draculs on? I believe you could still get atleast 2,5k hp and survive, and instead put all remaining stat points into strenght for more damage! I even think this build will rock in ubers, but i have to try it out.
Yea, see my more recent WW guide. Take inspiration for that...this is rather outdated by now in terms of vitality and maybe gear :) COOL to try out tyreals armor, why not its fun.

Death is fucking awesome, one of the best affordable weapons you can make
yep, on ladder etc its not even that exspensive. Kinda like obedience for your merc act2 etc. But death on non-ladder sucks to trade for :)
why is more expensive on non ladder? wouldn't there be more?

Very impressive build and a thorough explanation. I'm staring from Act I on normal and am looking to build a Frenzy Barbarian as well. What do you suggest in terms of points and skills to build to early on? Also, if I wanted to not him him as fast in order to control it better what would you recommend. Thanks very much.
We'll, gotta live with the run speed, else just make a WW barb :) You can re-spec in the game so just experiment with build while lvling.
I'm impressed. Not everything in this video is rune crazy like adding Guillaume's Face and using the blue +3 warcries. I'm a bit surprised you didn't add Myth as a Warcry booster if you're also aiming for a +6 Battle Orders helm as it's pretty easy to make.
Modighen We'll at some point stash items gets to bloated. I carry a +6 bo helm and +3 bo amulet, but thats what I can bother. Yes the babarian is not to costly to make - Just hard with the weapons. Gotten some upgrades on it since making the video.
I usually like to have an enigma in stash for my frenzy barbarian, change fortitude for enigma (fortitude in cube) just teleport for example until baal throne/begining of cs and switch back to fortitude with enigma in my cube, with only a HotO in switch is usually enough with 40fcr you teleport as fast as almost any pvm assasin/hammerdins/necros and i like to have a cta too in switch for the extra +4 BO/BA
+1986Maria1986 CTA dosent work for barb, down-graded to +3 sadly. But yes hoto and spirit shield combo on switch with enigma is fine.
+DjuntasGaming but +3 from down-graded cta +1 skill from the cta itself +3 from HotO give you +7 to BO/BA in switch, with HotO +spirit you only get +5 (or double hoto +6), if you are good with only 40fcr from one hoto, cta is pretty nice option.

Is the max speed 5f/s for frenzy?
I'm thinking on a Dragon Claw assassin, which also has 5f/s max speed. The damage will be not the same, but the sin has other tools to use for that.
Djuntas, could you give me some tips? I've made barbarian for a 1st time and it was easy up to act 3 normal, act 4 was ok but kinda slow and now in act 5, problems started. I am not dying, but killing monsters takes ages, because I have low attack rating (65-75% hit chance) and low damage. Stuck on double swing because I dont have enough mana steal to manage with frenzy even with mana potions, too much backing to town. Is this normal for barbarian or is it just me not getting items?
Play online and get rushed? I don't have any exsperience with Single player, but playing a paladin to hell act3 one time. Soloing Diablo2 is actually not....easy. Completing the game un-twinked can be hard.
Hi Djuntas , done with Diablo 3 and 4500 hours into Path of Exile . Now to play the real game ( i have hardly played D2 at all )- quick question - why does yr life drop from 4000ish to 2100 half way thru the video ?
Thats just buff running out. Its a pain when using call to arms runeword :p least barbs BO's last longer. Even a +6 CTA is like 2 mins only. so yea...much fun keeping buff up every 2 min...

Have you tried holding two Echoing weapons on your weapon swap? That's what it's called I think, the +3 to warcries modifier. That's a +6 total, and I think you can simply shop them once you're in a high enough Act on the right difficulty.
It has been years since I last played so I'm not positive on this one, but I think you may even be able to get them as early as Act 5 Nightmare, at Larzuk's shop (the blacksmith). Once you're in the right act, just keep popping in and out of town with the waypoint until you get what you seek :).

Bit of a old video, but never did re-visit frenzy. Don't really like the build, or to say it another way...WW barb is better for me, and probably also the better build overall for pvm and pvp.
Djuntas really... that’s interesting, because I thought you were more Frenzy invested. Your videos convinced me to try Frenzy as I have always made WW builds.
We'll, frenzy lacks AOE, fuss damage, also its playstyle, while fun for a bit, can be tiring.
nice guide what do you think about ebotdz and beastz for a frenzy barb, would it be better ?
It wont be, also go with dual wield grief and best of all consider making it a WW barb :)
Zerker axe is more for pvp for +1 range.
The hard part is finding all that great gear.

Hector Lamar that’s the fun part. That’s one of my biggest gripes about D3...gearing up is WAY too easy. D1 and D2 made you work for your gear. D3 all you had to do was craft the pieces you needed.
does ur build items still work and for soloing chaos baal runs its ok ? also i was wondering how good does this build do in a 8 player chaos / baal runs ?
+Adox561 WW standard build prolly is better overall, but yes its great for 8 player and solo. CB on weapon is nice for MP.

It has nice balance of CB and enhanced damage....what do u think?
+LooxGood gullis dont um it, grief + death is better, enigma pointless if you cant get fcr for PVM imo, verdungo no good for pvm, get strings, gores, raven + leech ring.
....Im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt 1 time, you might actually be able to respond properly.
Damage reduction is very poor in PVM, it caps at 50%, doesn't work on all mobs such as elemental afaik, and you want leech for this build, hench why strings or say bug belt if you play on EU NL is prefferd

Any tips on gear for guys who aren't unfathomably rich and are not on ladder (people forget, but they exist)?... I mean finding the best in slots is easy enough, everywhere online essentially, there's virtually no guides on how actually get to a build like this, you have to search the whole damn internet, asking on a ton of different sites. Also how does CoH do on this build (I have never found an ohm or lo so I can't make it for likely quite some time)?
Hello there! Yes playing online is way different from offline or self-found on ladder.
I don't have any videos on this, but other channels do. Basicly, get out there and play a crap ton killing specific area's efficiently. Diablo 2 is very grindy if you want good gear offline or online with no trading.
Oh and COH is great for this build. Loads of survival which is good if you aint got the best gear.

I do a lot of player 8 difficulty baal runs by myself with my whirlwind barbarian. I'm trying to reach lv 99. Anyways my question is in regards to your merc build. I was thinking about using this same merc build but I was wondering what you would think about tweaking the build in order to survive the final baal wave on player 8 difficulty. The only real merc Ive had current success with surviving constant baal runs with is a act 5 merc with last wish sword (life tap, fade, and might aura for me), eth fortitude armor for the defense bonus and an arreats face mask socketed with a cham to prevent being frozen.
What do you think about this build for my act 2 merc. Keep in mind the goal is to survive multiple baal runs without reviving and mostly support me with decrepify and his might aura.
Act 2 nightmare offensive merc. Eth andys socketed with a 15% ias jewel 15 to all resistance jewel for 35%ias. life steal etc. eth fort for defense buff. use the same weapon as yours but socketed with a shael rune instead. Giving him a total of 55% ias to reach one break point with the -10 ws weapon then the merc you just showed. would have 10 jpf and 10 apf versus yours that has 9 jpf and 10 apf.
The goal would be to have him cast decrepify over and over while i kill everything

That wouldent be much better. Treachery gives a big ammount off IAS, fade proc and some other things. IAS makes him leech faster, cause he....yea, attacks fasterr.
But a eth fortitude and standard andy is like 6-10 hrs max, so go for it and try it :) On JSP I see that eth andy is quit hard to get trough.

Okay Ill give your current merc set up a shot. I already have eth fort in my stash so I can always swap it out for treachory. I see how your current merc build would be awesome on player difficulty 1 or even up to player difficulty 8. Its just like I said and you know the last wave on baal runs player 8 difficulty can be pretty difficult to survive for a merc lol!
My only reasoning for this build was it would be one attack speed frame rate break below yours but have higher defense rating and more life leach from andys and reapers toll. Looks like I have some experimenting to do lol. Bored of my act 5 current act 5 merc and his set up lol. If you could post a vid of this merc in player 8 baal run survving it would be appreciated
why ? so many HP?? is for a PvP?? I mean , what happens if I do not want to hurt anyone? or avoid PvP? just for play harder ( slayer? hell mode?) etc..should I need more and more life?
Outdated now a days kinda, see my WW barb guide, its not frenzy but gear etc is more updated. You dont need more than 2000 life really, but see the WW guide

Btw: Could you tell us something about the different weapon-speeds and their impact on a frenzy?
You don't want eth armor on merc, more def = slower treachery procs...thats how I like it. IAS has no impact on frenzy but the normal stuff, or how do you mean?

DjuntasGaming I am doing a mf barb... My whole gear is mf... So i m using Lw Pb and cb eth botd, 2 nagels, goldwrap, steelskull, highlords, war travel, chances and enigma... But i m doing no dmg... Im having problems on cleaning maps. What peace of gear i should change to make him better? I got no mercy yet.. What option do u think its better
Dont use 2 nagels. Get more AR. Ditch goldwrap, Steelskull blows, get gullis, Chances are abit over-kill aswell but meh. Get a merc.
You can get 2mf weapons in you second slot, like 2x alibaba. Always switch to the second weapon slot then before you use find item then. 200% free mf for just a slightly lower chance of finding things
Is this build able to uber? If no, how would you change this build to do efficiently?
Threshers toll would proc decrepify on the ubers instead of life tap which is helpful

+Dan Cook Use draculs always, maybe have lifetap switch wand. Maybe verdungo belt. Else it should be fine, alot off CB from weapon and boots.

Depends what you are doing. Weapon choices aint just A or B for Barb. Dual wield grief, or grief + death, or grief + lastwish, or grief + botd are all options. But I go with dual grief for general PvM.

Thanks, your comment is something I avoid on most physical builds. Dosent make sense to talk weapon choices often. So many choices, ubber, pvp, normal pvm etc
for an ebotd a grief zerker, doom zerker or beast zerker combo really well...
the only thing that sucks is you're going to repair a lot

You have to bot to get this type of gear on all characters right? There is no way you can play normal and get this?
I have never botted, nor needed to :) Trading and playing online is enough. JSP is also a big help.

JSP is a online forum/trade site. I did videos about it, you can see them on the channel :) JSP uses forum gold (FG).

Should the phase blades and archon plate be ethreal?
I’ve heard of people using mage plates and dusk shrouds.
PB can be eth, dont make archon in eth...it breaks, also avoid dura on it...15% etc, costly to repair.

Its totally needet now days. You won't get anywhere trading in-game, game is to dead for that. Also all the dupes and whatnot. I trade alot in-game, but I do so with a very big knowledge about pricing and risk.
DjuntasGaming Yeah it can be extremely hard to trade in game, I only started playing again from last ladder reset (November) and had a pretty decent season.. I was able to eventually get Fortitude and stuff but no HR gear :(
Anyways though I will give D2jsp a go I guess, are there any good price guides for how much FG items are worth or anything? Also sorry one last question.. are those items store bots that spam every public game and channel legit?

how do you develop one magic skill more than 20 times because on assassin I cant develop the tiger strike more than 20 times where your sword is extra ?

Oh man you did so many thinks wrong in this guide Ok lets start with attributes
- The Babarian has Bo so you didn't need 400 vit give him 200 rest int str for damage every point str is 1% ed
Then lets look at the skills
- Max Bo = more points into str. = more damage
- why you didn't set one point into warcry it is much better then taunt and Battle cry
- faster run on a francy is usefull as Convition on a Hammerdin
Then let's look at the gear
1. you didn need a Clossusblade you need the lefthandbug put the Grief on the Schieldslot and the Death on the weapon slot then go to a random place and pick up the colossusword and change your weaponset with w 2x after that your grief is the mainweapon and then put the death back as the secondary with that trick you only need 7% IAS look at this calk (it is in German but i think you can translate it into english)

I'am using it every time with my Babarian and it works
And why are you using draks when you have LoH? more damage = more leach
And by the way did you know that every offensiv stat on a weapon only works wehn you hit something with that weapon you don't get the 50% CB of Death on your Grief and thats why the DS on Highlord is very important to increase the damage of your grief.
and you don't need poison damage you have open wounds on gores
and the skillers are useless just use more life/Ar/maxd.

So how well does this build do in an 8 player game? How about clearing chaos in 8 player?

Is this build still viable after 2 years? :) Im currently using it on my Barb, but i still have my Respec/ Reskill if anything goes wrong :)
See my WW guide, copy his items for the most part, then go back to this. Go with dual grief unless you want to do ubbers or maybe run in 6-8 player games.

Hey guy in case I use a grief+breath of the dying and grief+death, what is the better choice. death gives more deadly strike per lv while breath of the dying gives more attack speed and attributes..
Singapore Intime Death, but its really also a personal thing, but I choose death.
...I have all three combo grief+death, grief+breath, breath/death + fury.
These three kinds are so strong that only one-or two hit all hell demons, hell boss come to death, ubers so easy then I can't see any differences hahaha

I know it won’t happen, but I really want D4 to be a prequel to the original Diablo. I want them to go back to their roots and make it more like D1 and D2. D3 your character was a demigod. You were way too OP. I didn’t think it was as much fun. I preferred being more or less a mortal human with normal stats. Doing over 1 billion in damage doesn’t really mean anything to me. Make D4 a prequel and go back to the roots of Diablo. There’s really nowhere else to go with the story otherwise in my opinion.
To be fair, you dont have your numbers displayed in any of these games besides your charcter sheet IIRC, so hard to tell what damage we sort of did to mobs. But I get your point but I also wanna say this; Diablo 3, or any modern ARPG is just like this. Fast gameplay with OP AOE spam. Grim Dawn has it, PoE defiantly has it. I think you more want a normal RPG style of game where you fight 3-4 mobs?

banmia suadi Ladder, non-ladder. No difference exspect the prices you shell out at the beginning until bots has infested that aswell. If there we're no bots at all, ladder would make more sence.

Angelic combo is not needet. I get plenty of AR, also my grief ITD mode. Zerker axes aint better, its range vs stats, I find it to be worser.
I do about 7k with my tuber frenzy born with Seth zeta Botd and grief
I wish I still had my barb he was much more dangerous then this. Use BoTD and LastWish. My gear and skills were different to. keep tinkering you can make him better. :)
Weapon choices are always controversial. I will not go into that debate. What works from some, won't for others....:) I believe grief + death is the best combo.
I tried Death Eth CB.. i found that Last wish in a PB was even better. the might aura alone from that + fade and CB%. no need of Gulli helmet. i used a simple arreat or any other arr rating helmet/circle. Just to boost the Attack rating for bosses.
Last wish for sure is good :)
SoE isnt worth it since you can use a Dual leech ring.

I trade for my gear :) You can do that rather easily playing online. No need for spending actual money on this game ever imo.
DjuntasGaming ok cool thanks. just fired up the game after years of being away. I'm in Acts 3 now trying to build a Frenzy Barbarian but my damage output is a little low. What can I do to get that up to get through act 3? I don't think you can farm Duriel
Act 3 normal? Just do whatever, its not really too hard, more about out-levelling the place you are in. Do tomb runs if you are level 18-24 etc :) You can re-spec for free, so just put skillers/stats as you want.
Also if you play online, just group up or get rushed :)
Is dungo's good too ?
Nah, its more PvP. String of ears is much better

Lawl... Dungo is better than SoE. Dungo has Vit on it where SoE only gains you the DR and other random stats which is worse. a Noseferatus would be even better tho. Life leech attackspeed and so on.
We use strings because of life leech. Life leech is what matters :)
