I've never heard of MapCrunch before, but now I'm going to be using it all the time!! :D
That drawing is from Viseu in Portugal!! I immediately recognised from the thumbnail that it was a Portuguese sight!!
Love it
Everytime you do a video like this I'm just absolutely fascinated by how you turn something seemingly not interesting into a masterpiece xD. All the beautiful texture details and the color treatment for the lights ar just amazing. More map crunch / environment studies would definitely be awesome!
thank you so much!!
Me for the last 5 minutes: wow it looks so good I bet she’s done now
Laura: *keeps going making it even better*
You're so good at using tools in photoshop to your advantage! The lighting looks so good!
thanks so much!
More speed paints. Love speed paints. Also character stuff is fun to watch and learn from too
for another video can you do more of the gaming studies you have done they're some of my favourite videos of yours! The animal crossing and the Zelda Botw ones are amazing. I loved that there was a lil bit of you gaming at the start and getting your reference then painting it after. It would be cool to see what other games you play. This is amazing so glad you're getting the time to do more speedpaint!! If you're looking for Q's for another Q&A soon I would love to know what tips you have to balance your personal art with your full time job. So happy you're posting more again can't wait to see what you do next !!
Ooo I’m trying this map crunch 1 hour challenge now! Great work love all your textures!
Cool channel. I am currently working on an Elsa and Aang animation for a small project. I am going to put it on my next reel so I can apply to Disney and other companies this Summer. I did the Pixar animation internship in Summer 2019. It was the amazing place I had ever been to, and I miss being in the beautiful Bay Area and California. I am trying to get back into animations.
That looks freaking good. Big fan of ur work.
I know this may be a lot to ask, but can you please break down the process of coloring, or even overall the painting you´re so talented specially texturing I´m just speechless
It turned out so beautiful 🥰🥰🥰 I could watch you draw all day haha 🥰
Great video! Def want more Map Crunch videos!

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love watching your speed paints and this was a great way for me to take a break from my own projects. It's almost finals week and i've been working non-stop lately!
It's such a pleasant and calming experience watching your speed paints. I just binged the playlist so I'm happy to get a new one so soon after :)

Yay! I love watching your speedpaint videos! Also, thank you for introducing us to MapCrunch! I will definitely use it for my environment paintings!
Thanks for sharing the map crunch website (honestly I haven't heard of it before) I wanted to improve my digital painting skills... SO I went to the website and it literally took me to a Bob Ross style background, aka Spray Lakes Road in Canada. Nothing like improving your skills with a challenge. :P
This is such a great idea! I’ll definitely start doing this! Great work, as always Laura!
I just love watching your process. Having been a digital and conventional artist for many years, this is inspiring. How you did those paver stones in the foreground and textured them!!! 🔥
Saw this on your insta and stared at it for a while haha, so happy to see you uploaded the process too!! Love your style keep it up :)
what a great idea! I have been just taking pics in Burbank like a jerk! lol love it!
you should do a video on the problems of being left-handed! as a leftie myself it is INFURIATING how we live in a right-handed world
More speedpaints, love doing those virtual plein airs
That’s soo good, sooo talented
Can we see more relaxing content like this?!? :D Your speedpaints always amaze and inspire me to try backgrounds every time I feel like giving up on them!
Big fan Mam, I love this. Mind-blowing art work.
Accidentally read your name as Lauren Lopez when I got the notif, then I realized you actually look like her. lol
aha! you're the second person to tell me that!
I love this!! This is such a good resource for quick environment studies. I was wondering if you do a MapCrunch video again if you could talk a little bit about your process (aka breaking down the image, framing the image)? How did you get so good at painting without color picking? I can't wait to try out this website 😊
yes, I would like to see more map crunch speed paints, please ☺️✍️🗺
Can you please do an environment painting on procreate? That would really help me! Love your work 💕
New subscriber 💕
Can you make a vid abt/showing your portfolios pls? Like the ones that got you into college/uni, internships, Disney and other jobs pls xx
Hi Laura, amazing work! How do you make so your brushes are pointed at the tips? Thanks 😃❤️
Yes i got to be the 4th
I'm in a discord where we do daily 5 min mapcrunch studies. It is basically frantic shape-making. I really enjoyed watching you tackle mapcrunch!! I find a lot of times the images are washed-out, did you feel like you had to take a lot of liberties with color?
that's awesome!! I actually chose one in bright sunlight with a lot of contrast which made the shapes easier to see. I took a bunch of screenshots for the future and many are very washed out, I think I'll paint them washed out, but maybe adding some extra contrast here and there
@@lulusketches Good to know, thank you! I love seeing your process!
I've never seen so much attention paid to a railing 😂 great work!
I'm all vaccinated in bed and watching this and how come we aren't in adjacent cubicles anymore? LESIIIIIIIGH. This was beautiful.
😭I miss you Jolly!! and thank you!!
Sorry for the late message, Laura, but what is this style of painting called? like watercolor, gouache, flat, etc.
Painting was really educational too, btw
hey can you make video on your techniques pls
So, when getting an image from map crunch , do you place a solid color over it get get a light outline, the add layers of paint?
nope just view it on another screen and draw it freehand! great practice!
What do you use to record your speed paints on from your computer?
What’s that stand you use to hold up your tablet?
Is there an artistic reason you have the canvas more zoomed out during the sketching portion? Does it help with making looser sketches?
it helps me see the composition as a whole! for a loose painting like this, I don't like to draw and paint too zoomed in and get lost in the details :)
@@lulusketches thank you!
I'll watch it later
how long did this take :O
I was kinda wondering how much speed of this timelapse.. I'm sure it took longer time to this.
How you feel when you become an animator? Thats my dream.. But.. 😞thats the dream that can never came true
i miss her
Me who tend to do everything in one layer 😬
Hello there, I'm from india and I want to work as an animator in Disney. So, is work experience required or a degree from any animation institute is enough???

You should be a teacher. I’ll take your class looks interesting
Oh you really thought you’d get away with making a video and have me not comment about it not being twilight content ? We will not back down !!!
just posted a bella/edward drawing on my instagram 💃
Laura. I would like to know the dimensions of your canvas and the resolution you use. (you have to tell me cos I am a subscriber and its my birthday!) Ever thought about doing step by step tutorials?
Has she left Disney?
