10:40 VIS 100 was created for the 100th anniversary of regaining independence after the First World War. Poland as a state was established over 1000 years ago.
I really enjoy what you call "rambling on", especially military history. Never get tired of hearing about different countries military history. Keep up the great work and I for one appreciate you shearing your knowledge, thank you.
Then you'd love me with a couple drinks in me lol
I do like the aggressive look of the pistol. Kind of makes me think of the Walther PDP. I also really like the aggressive slide serrations on the Polish Tokarev. Great video as always
Almost $1000?! Dang they are proud of these pistols.
Yes, whatever else, FB is definitely proud of these guns.
@@misha5670 VIS-$1000
😂
A lot of import costs involved, from what I can see it's one of the cheaper options in the Polish market for a current production "tactical" pistol (about 585-620 USD compared to 800+ for HK, Walther etc new models).
@@_car5323 exactly. And for example Sig M17 in polish stores costs around 5300 PLN which is roughly 1100 USD. It is a lot cheaper in the US.
Definitely attractive looking pistols especially that dark gray model they had available
Its funny how people either find the VIS100 very attractive or very ugly; little in between.
This gun so ridiculously weird and funky. Just a weird design. I'm gonna buy it. 😂 I love guns like this.
Exactly, weird can be good and is certainly fun. Remember the Croatian HS PHP?
Its a good looking pistol. Needs a factory threaded barrel.... hopefully it operates with a suppressor.
Great video/review on something unique and different that I haven't seen anyone else do a video on this before this one! Keep them coming buddy!
The dude knows his polish guns. Really cool, never seen those old ones before. Kind of intrigued now. The vis 100 caught my eye recently, kind of hard to find tho.
I've been extremely interested in it as a lefty. There's very, very little market for metal framed, DA/SA handguns with ambidextrous controls. Very nice that it actually has some nice modern features, like the modular grip panels and optics cut slide. Hopefully as more shipments come into the country we start to see some holster options available for it, too.
Unfortunately, i wouldn't count on these ever coming in in large numbers. This will most likely always be an odd curiosity here in the USA.
@Mishaco I love when you ramble on about historical things for to long! Thank you for Sharing your knowledge sir, I really appreciate you.
It's interesting watching videos from Poland on these and translating the comments. Seems like alot of polish people think it's outdated and prefer polymer striker fired guns. Alot of comments saying they have one only to be patriotic.
Don't treat that TOO seriously, complaining is the national pastime over here in Poland ;) Plus a political scene divided in the middle similarily to the US. So whatever the government does, good or bad, will come under heavy fire by half of the society.
Not every Pole loves striker pistols... just throwing it out there ;)
Not only poles believe single action, plastic frames and light strikes are better. Stupidity has no boundaries. Even real gun users don't know where to look at.
A thorough, worthwhile video. The 100 is a fine firearm. Thank you for this review!
I believe it is pronounced "looch neek" I presume it means archer because it is basically the same word in russian and also some of their AKs are called archer
Wooch-neek
its just łucznik
Translate comments? What's the nonsense? I only see comments in English! Only one comment is in Polish! The Poleish comment means wonderful Vis model!
piekny model VIS-a
czesc…mysle o zakupie, nie wiesz moze czy pasuja do niego inne magazynki? magazynki wygldaja podobnie do sig 226
I have been waiting for this one to show up. Figured it wouldn't be inexpensive. I have noticed that there isn't much out there currently that's a huge bargain. Recently I found out that steyr is discontinuing the zephyr 2 17hmr and .22 rifles. I just bought a 17hmr as I think they are stunning. Hopefully I can cobbler together enough to get a pistol. Never know. Great video as always.
Yep, nothing inexpensive these days, especially when it comes to imports. I think people will look back at 2005-2019 as a bit of a 'Golden Age' for modern style firearms, especially imports.
@@misha5670 I have to agree with that. Thankfully I feel like I've done pretty well with your help and others. Getting ready to sell an m1a as I never really warmed to it and super match has been discontinued making it somewhat more valuable. I don't really shot it sell it to friend who will, if they can stay in gold medal match. Not an inexpensive item to run.
@@nedanschutz I'll still buy a gun occasionally, but i think the days of me getting one every-other week are over. I am mostly past the adding to the collection stage in my life and into the enjoying what i have already one instead.
😎😀👍🏼 Nice Review Misha & Booch 😎👍🏼
Nice save on the manual Samurai J 👊. Great job Mishaco 👍👍🇺🇸
It’s definitely looks cool.
It makes the 226 look like it has a low bore axis but I still want one
Excellent presentation 👏
Thanks, this was one of those videos that was just fun to make.
I like it will be trying to find one
I really think it’s worth the grab. Once you have a range day with it you’ll be happy you got it
The reason this gun attracts so much interest is that it is the new standard sidearm of the Polish Army, and therefore it needs to be satisfy high expectations.
argh, I was so tempted to get one....
I never understood why all the gun tubers rant and rave about the original WW2 era Polish Vis pistol. It holds 8 shots of 9mm and is big and bulky. The P38 also holds 8 shots of 9mm and is a lot slimmer. The Browning P35 Hi Power held 13 rounds at the time and the 1911 held 7 rounds of .45 ACP, which is a stouter cartridge than WW2 era 9mm. At the time, there was definitely better options than the old Vis. I just don't see why everyone praises it as the best WW2 pistol.
I understand why people collect firearms. It’s for individual historical preservation purposes and it’s fun. I get that. It’s an awesome hobby. But you want to know what I don’t understand? I don’t understand why people think these ancient designs can keep up with and match the performance of modern firearms. Not only do people think the old Vis is the best pistol design from WW2, you actually have people who are still trying to carry one and swear it’s better than a modern pistol. People think that for a lot of surplus guns. Surplus guns are great. They’re available and inexpensive. People can get into the hobby relatively easily. But you can’t tell me anything from WW2 is superior to any of the modern double stack wonder nines with optics cuts, light rails, and high visibility iron sights all in one package.
I don't know about the Vis being the best pistol of WWII, I have had 2 and they are smooth shooters.I have one now because it's part of my collection.
@@leroyjenkins4811 Understanding flees from you.
Polish stuff has sort of a cult following like German stuff, they did tend to make some of the better examples of "soviet type" weaponry. Plus I anecdotally think a lot of people have polish roots in the gun community, or slav in general, they seem more drawn to it imo
I'm not an expert, but even the Germans appreciated it, since they continued its production for the German army when they took over.
The pistol looks weird. The grip has almost no angle to it, it’s almost vertical. It also has a very high bore axis and an extremely large trigger guard. The gun had a lot of muzzle flip when shot. It doesn’t seem very ergonomic. Shooting this gun with gloves might be a better experience.
Poland has snow so the trigger guard has to be big for winter gloves....
I own the gun and the guys at my FFL and myself think it actually feels very good in the hand and I like a more angled grip. I've seen other people say the same thing in comments but looks can be deceiving
Looks like they use the same case manufacturer as B&T. Also ever consider doing meet ups? It kills me too because I'm literally just hours away.
Is it compatible with any other mags? I would hope it has cz75 mag compatibility, it was hard to get a good look at the mag. I do agree it's a nice looking pistol. Kinda Jericho vibes but futuristic . "Easy to look at" indeed
Totally different type of mag catch compared to a CZ75. Good point on being similar to a Jericho. I should have brought out my trusty old 941 as a comparison...i'll do that next time.
I bought one. Any idea where to get a hostler?
Reminds me of Ruger P89
That’s a nice pistol
I wonder how these were approved with the serial number being printed on the frame and not engraved. At least it doesn't look engraved.
As long as it is deep enough, the ATF doesn't care about the method used.
I'm sure it's a great pistol. But the price of admission being a thousand bucks is steep for me atleast.
especially without a factory threaded barrel.
Can you explain someday why you go by Misha?? Isn't your name William or something. If that's an interesting story I'd love to hear it. Thanks for the awesome video as always!
Because its my name, well one of my names at anyrate.
Hey Misha I have a polish circle 11 tokarev with 1953 stamped on it. It looks the exact same as that one in your video except the left grip panel has an indent for your thumb to rest in. I’ve never seen another one like it. Does that indent in the grip ring any bells to you?
Yep, it was for the added safety lever.
Have you figured out any magazine designs that are close to the Vis-100's?
Every metal frame gun seems to take Beretta mags if you can get the locking notch correctly cut
except, its not a notch. It has a niple that sticks out at the fron tof the mag.
@@misha5670 then you're screwed
Was the disassembly portion in fast forward?
I like it.
Price is high. It’s about the same as an HK USP in 45. Has it been tested as extensively and used as much by military and LE as the USP.
Yep sure
Is it accurate?
I can say sincerely that I hit everything I could see to aim at.
@@misha5670 Thanx Misha it seems like an awesome gun. At what distance were you hitting? Did you shoot as far as 50 meters?
Um I don't think you got what i was saying in my reply.
@@misha5670 50 meters too! So good gun. Comparable to German made Sig X 5 ...
It is a clear quality made gun just like all FB firearms but what i dont like is how high the bore is above the dovetail definately makes it hard to control rapid fire with more muzzle flip the lower the bore the better
i think its a really cool design, but its about 25 years too late
Looks like an interesting gun but it's at that price point where a P226 would probably be the better option. If it were maybe $700, it'd be a solid option. Would have preferred a threaded barrel as well, seems like it'd be a nice suppressor host.
Think circle 7 has one on discount
🤣
Nice, but I don't like the thin trigger guard. The Beretta M9A1, M9A3 and M9A4 have a thicker trigger guard as the thinner trigger guard on the M9 would all too easily break if you had to hit someone hard with the pistol. A stupid omission on an aluminium frame pistol that makes me wonder what other shortcomings it has. The Beretta 92 is also much more silencer friendly that Browning type pistols like this, while the M9A3 and M9A4 come with a threaded barrel. So for a versatile service pistol the M9A4 rules IMO (I like the decock-only Centurion variant best).
The squared trigger guard was added for finger placement. It had nothing to do with strength. Find me a single instance of a broken trigger guard in the thousands of 92s that have been put into service.
The squared trigger guard is for ergonomics and Idk what kind of fudd lore you've had to consume to think that the browning tilting barrel action is bad for suppressors or that the beretta fixed barrel is better in anyway (it's not) lmao
You will never strike somebody with a pistol, get real
@@airsoftreaper99 I agree but it’d be nice to be able to without the guard breaking.
I dont drink coke, i dont like the shape of the bottle..
Cans are ok, however i dont like red..
Forks and knives are troublesome and i decided to use my fingers..
(just a little sarcasm)😉
I like it, I can't stand striker fired pistols, can't stand the triggers.
Does anyone sell magazines for it?
Yes, AoA (the importer) ordered spare mags when ordering the pistols themselves. So i suggest checking availability on their website.
No one has mentioned this pistol is in R6 Siege
Germans not Natzi
Naaazzzzzziiiiiii
Kurwa ...
👋😜👉🇺🇾💨
Radom is pronounced "RAH-dom."
Not by me.
I''ve got a sig p226. That's good enough for me. Your cousin is a noob. Throwing around a lot of incorrect terminology.
We all have to start somewhere.
He was absolutely jargoning the living hell out of that whole gun. Dude had zero idea what any of those words meant.
That newest polish pistol just looks like a really terrible design.
