What a great looking, healthy recipe! I’ll have to add this to my vegan playlist. It looks so delicious, it won’t be just for Lent! Thank you!
I grew up in Texas having black eyed peas every New Years for good luck. Might be a tradition I need to start up again. This recipe looks delicious. Thank you
Nice!! Which part of Texas? I live here too 😊
Dimitra's Dishes I’m in Ohio now but I grew up in Humble outside of Houston.
Looks great!
Making this today to take for my lunches for the week!
Yummy thank you this recipe over the top
Looks delicious! I love black eyed peas. My mom cooked them a lot when I was a child and it reminds me of home. I look forward to trying this recipe! 😊
I do too! They’re also delicious in salads! Enjoy 😊
Greek food, as much as people think is simple, is hardest to replicate! And as a non-Greek, we visit every 2nd year ! Unfortunately, I am finding it hard to go back as it was my mums favourite destination, and she passed away in February! But, time will heal and I will go back and smile! Love Peloponnese and Pelion!
Wish I had this recipe on New Year’s Day. 😊
Great idea and recipe for my toddler! Sharing with hubby now. Tyfs💞
Yes, this is perfect for the little ones :)
TY sweet Dimitroula mou! I'll make this during my fasting period. I have to buy fennel.
I love black eyed peas so I will definitely try it!!

Greek food is similar to Lebanese food :) I just uploaded a Lebanese black eyed beans recipe. Thanks for sharing!
Great recipe! Similar to a Moroccan bean stew called Potaje. Btw, sugar doesn’t neutralize acidity, only salt does.
Hello Dimitra. I love pretty much all your recipes, but please tell me how I find the list of ingredients with the measurements.
I think this recipe was in the new Blue Zones cookbook.. looks delicious!
Cool! Where can I buy one? 🤗
I bought mine from Amazon- but the book may be in bookstores as well.
@@DimitrasDishes Yes! Katia LaManna, you're right! It's in the Blue Zone Kitchen and the recipe is called 'Ikarian Longevity Stew'. This must be a common household recipe from the Greek islands. Sooo delicious!
Looks delicious Dimitra, can we replace the fennel in the recipe with.... ?
Yummy !! Very close to a Persian/Indian dish called Sabzi (herb stew) super healthy (and a cleanser 😉). I'm going to try your version !!
Healthy and delicious! Enjoy 😊
Nice recipe thank you. Where is your island accent?
Where did you get that gorgeous soup pot?

Would this stew still taste good without tomatoes, (allergic to them) :-?
I'm not a big fennel fan. What can I substitute?
Bell peppers work well as an alternative to the fennel.
Is it ok to use canned black-eyed peas ?
I made this recipe minus the fennel not a fan of that and it was very good...
I love Greek cuisine this shares alot of similarities with East African Cooking
Love you videoed. I thought you were Greek but I saw your bio your Pakistani. Did you family migrate from Pakistan to Greece and you lived there in your childhood?
I am Greek. Both parents and grandparents are from the island of Crete. My husband is from Pakistan...
I will make this on our next camping trip.
