Whereas in most places two people can look completely different and still be equally beautiful, in Korea there is a list of very specific traits that you HAVE to have to be considered beautiful/attractive. This list includes pale skin (as well as double eyelids, high nose bridges and "v shaped" faces). And people will not hesitate to tell you if you're not "beautiful". And will give you suggestion on how to "fix" yourself, sometimes even suggesting plastic surgery. But there's no ill will or harm meant by it, though. They think that they are actually doing you a favor by letting you know that you're not good looking and by giving you suggestions to fix it. because they think that if your better looking you have a better chance to succeed in life.
