I love the DTS, it was the last "real" cadillac and after 06' the northstar was actually a pretty reliable engine just wish the one in the video had a bench seat and column shifter to complete the whole package but it seems like most people optioned the floor shifter for these. Too bad the one in the vid had a rough life.
Hello Randy. The 2023 Toyota Corolla is a good looking car even though it's got hail damage. The 2009 Cadillac DTS is a good looking car even though it's got hail damage and with a little dent on the hood.

That DTS is a Platinum package and it’s BEAUTIFUL, that color is super super rare and it’s also rare it’s a platinum package one too, I had a 06 DTS performance that was wonderful, the mirrors coming off it common and the Northstar after 04 is better
I like corolla, I owned over than 6 Toyota during the past 35 years. I put 160K on each one before I sold it. Only factory that I claims was Chao Canister that worth $850.00 but cover the factory warrenty for 150K.
I lived in Illinois and needed a tow from Missouri. Tow trucks in MO can have blue lights, but he told me they have to turn them off when crossing into IL.
Similarly, Iowa used to not allow volunteer fire fighters to have flashing lights (just hazards), but Illinois allowed blue and red lights.

Yeah, when he says "ITS ONLY AT 50 BUCKS (or whatever)" it's totally irrelevant. Auction aint over. I recognize its work to do this, but not closing the loop doesnt paint the true picture. I bet that Corolla is gonna go for real strong money due to the low mileage and cosmetic damage that means the car is essentially 100% driveable.
It may help with him needing to replace the videos he can't do at that the other auction.

I work for a Major Rental Car/Truck Rental I could tell stories on the care they get.
I know rental cars have a reputation for getting beat on. However I rent cars from Enterprise at least once a month for business travel. And generally they are in good condition. With up to date oil change stickers in the windshields. I just returned a car yesterday after a three day rental. Travelling over 1200 kilometres. The car was a 2021 Volkswagen Passat with over 92,000 kilometres on the clock. The Enterprise clerk told me that I was the last rental for this car. His system told him the car was to be pulled from the fleet and sent off to auction. The car ran fine handled well and returned decent fuel economy, it had winter tires in it with plenty of life left in them. I’m sure that will make a decent car for someone down the road.
I had a DTS it was a great car.
On Toyota when you drive first thing in the morning it will tell you each time you turn everything off turn back on again and start moving which tire has problems

Had one of these as a rental i believe it was a 2021 or 2022 only thing I didn't like is the electronic parking brake Squeele's when apllied. The charging port is in the glove box(stupid design)& i hated the big ass touch screen
Toyota was also known for putting the starter under the intake on their V-6 and V-8 Engines.
Say what you want about Toyota, their starters were known for failing.
Also, according to Scotty Kilmer, a starter and alternator is considered regular maintenance, on a Toyota his works.

Except for paying cash, can you even get a loan on a salvaged car? And could you get full coverage insurance on a damaged car ? Thats what would worry me trying to get into a car like the toyota.

34mpg for a Corolla isn't really a great stat in 2023. They got the same mileage 20+ years ago.
Get a Camry hybrid instead. Bigger vehicle that will ride much nicer than a Corolla or even the Prius. 50-60mpg all day in city driving.
I hate the Chrysler 200, I bought one new in 2015. Factory tires would not pull forward on level ground on snow. Not even 1/2 inch of snow. No weight in the front, Avoid at all costs.
