- AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi held the UP government responsible for the controversial death of gangster Mukhtar Ansari in the Banda jail stating that what happened with Mukhtar can happen with anyone tomorrow and questioned how justice would be served when the fundamental right to life is snatched. Owaisi recounted the death of gangster turned politician Atiq Ahmed who was shot dead in April 2023 while in judicial custody and said that it is the second time a death has taken place in judicial custody in UP in recent times. He also questioned the reason behind not getting Ansari’s post mortem done by a set of independent experts as demanded by his family. Owaisi whose AIMIM has tied up with three other smaller parties in UP and formed a PDM (pichchde, Dalit, Muslim) Nyay Morcha- a third front in UP against the ruling NDA and the SP-Congress led INDIA alliance also talked about forming a strong alternative for UP public before 2027 assembly polls. Opening up on allegations levelled by opposition leaders that his party is a vote slasher, Owaisi asked why such allegations were levelled only against his party and why not on BSP and Congress which fight 400 seats in UP but still fail to defeat the BJP. He was given food from his house if there is poisoning then maybe we should arrest his family . Regarding cases on other politicians most PD case , traffic disturbance while protesting , corruption , only few like Muktar have grave cases . Very less in BJP but less overall including other parties because they are dead or convicted .
