1st thing to know: The transmission may, or may not, last up to 40 miles. 😳
I bought one last week , and time will tell, but so far, the ride is amazing, and the safety features are mind-blowing to me.
May the odds be in your favor
@@larryinnova2745 I had a 2016 Kia Sorrento 235k miles , I was religious with regular maintenance. Kia has been good to me.
Let's see how long the engine lasts... Hopefully longer than 30 miles, that is how long their 24 sante Fe dct transmission lasted.....
@@1976axerhandwell, I’m still driving my 2014 Santa Fe 2.0. 150k miles and counting
@@mintprint6430 because it's an old one. Hyundai didn't start making crap engines till 2015......
I’ve owned three Hyundai vehicles in the past ten years. Zero issues. Great vehicle
Consider yourself lucky. My wife works at a Hyundai dealership, and they replace engines on a daily basis.
@@shawness93 Doesn't it happen at every factory though? There are always bad products.
Great job guys! Truly valuable insights.
Fantastic video!😸
I test drove one today, my first time driving a Hyundai. Very impressed.
I want you to know your videos are the most informative I have found on CZcams. Thank you so much!
Glad we could help! Thanks
I just got my white & black calligraphy.
love it
Congrats!
This video was perfect to me, to the point and short. Looking forward to see the one about the Hybrid when it comes out!
Glad you liked it!
I think the XRT trim is the way to go for me. If they made a SEL with a package that adds the sunroof, then i would've settled for that. But the XRT is standard with AWD, which is a plus!
Spoken for the limited hybrid. My dealership said 7months before I could get it. I will wait. I want the 7 seats hence why I won't go for the calligraphy hybrid.
Do they have auto parking ?
Do you know if they will have hybrid soon ?
Thanks! Do you know how the 2nd row compares to the VW atlas?
Could you please tell location of catalytic converter in 2024 model? I had to sell my 2015 Santa Fe after cat was stolen 3 times. Can't risk buying another one if location of cat is same.
Another good review, guys. Question: is it possible to get a smaller wheel size (18”?) on the HEV Caligraphy?
Thanks! Not as an official option but you could replace the wheels aftermarket. We look forward to testing a Calligraphy VERY soon to test out the ride quality compared to other trims
I bought the limited and I wish it came with 18 rims. I hate 20s. Almost bought the SEL because it had 18 inch rims. If I need to replace a tire every other month because of damaged tires I will trade it off and get a car with 18 inch rims.
Rear reminds me those old school cab over 🚚
Which trim level give you the transmission that lasts more than 40 miles?
Great job guys. I actually like what they've done with the new Santa Fe.
Nice! I like y’all Hyundai Santa Fe
Wrong. It’s ugly
Best value I feel is the calligraphy hybrid for the price difference and what u actually get
Can you confirm the hybrid will also have the 6 speed like the gas as indicated on the screen specs you posted?
Yes, 6-speed automatic on the hybrid
@CarConfections awesome thank you!
The only thing you need to know is the transmission of your new Santa Fe went out driving back from the dealership. I haven’t heard of anything like that since the 1970s-80s.
then you havent owned many hyundais...we have 3 on order two of wich were just placed last week....Hyundai is the most unreliable brand in the world IMO
Replaced tranny at 23,000 miles on my Santa Cruz. This is a huge problem they seem to be ignoring. Stay away from the dual clutch transmission at all cost.
Yeah and after new Trans put in they're having issues again.
@@BarefootVloggerI agree. The dct gearbox is trouble.
I bought one. so far so good. Warranty is no good if it is in the shop every month. I told my wife if it is in the shop couple times a month it will be traded off and take the loss. So far rides nice. Limited edition green. Went black interior was afraid to keep the white clean all the time. Wish you could get 18 inch rims on the limited edition. I hate 20 inch rims. I like rubber between the rims and ground.
OK guys.....been watdhing your videos on the new Santa Fe for a while....and it sold us.....we took posession of our new Limited model a little over a week ago. HUGE drawback to the Forward Attention Warning system. While using the smart cruise control, the FAW kicked in and turned off the cruise control because it said it could not recognize my face. Upon researching this, I discovered that wearing sunglasses prohibits the system from seeing your eyes, therefore shutting off the cruise control. You CANNOT turn this feature off! Hyundai needs to fix this! I wear contact lenses and sunglasses are a must. The only option is to never use the cruise control when wearing sunglasses, which is totally unacceptable. There are other instances listed in the manual where this would happen as well, but again, you should be able to turn this off. If I missed something....please advise!
We have heard the same thing from other owners… hopefully Hyundai will update this issue very quickly!
Is there adaptive cruise control?
Yes, standard on all models
Toyota transmission problems have been cropping up in 2017 to 2020 models of certain vehicles. There have been a number of complaints about the power train made to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but no safety recalls to date. The Toyota transmission complaints over the past several years have been so numerous that attorneys are now assembling complainants to join a class action lawsuit against Toyota.
The most common Toyota transmission problems logged with the NHTSA involve a lack of power or acceleration in the vehicles, or the automatic transmission remaining “stuck” in a particular gear.
Complaints also include:
Rough, delayed or sudden shifting
Failure to accelerate from a stop
Transmission shudder
Sudden loss of power
Premature transmission failure
You must work for Hyundai to post about Toyota in this review of a car that they already replaced the transmission. At under 100 miles on the odometer.
@@PeterGreter It's a legitimate point to make because people always bash Hyundai when you can spend more to get a Toyota and have transmission problems just outside the warranty so you're left footing the bill. If your transmission fails in a Hyundai at low mileage, it'll be replaced for free. Much better warranty terms. It' also helps illustrate that Hyundai is not the only manufacturer having reliability problems. The highly regarded Toyotas are as well and probably shouldn't be regarded so highly anymore.
@@PeterGreter Nah I am just an average Joe like you, but for sure you are a Toyota Fan Boy (TFB).
Thank you for blowing this whistle!
Have a 4Runner bought brand new in 2017. 94,000 mi. Not a single problem.
I just wish they would bring out the calligraphy model without the blackout package with the regular wheels and not the black..... Hyundai is sure making us wait for the model we want!!
18 inch rims is the ticket.
Boy the back of this suv looks like a really weird minivan! 😂
It’s hideous. These guys have no taste.
Seriously, ugly comes to mind
@@lstruble9848 I saw one on the road yesterday, the back looked even worse in person 😳
They just ruined the whole car with that ugly looking taillight
Roverish design.
The base model sounds nice. Moonroof. It's tight. The Palasades! Yes, more room. The SEL is about 40k. Interest rates are high. Smaller tires equals better ride?
Are you able to share the features sheets you share screenshot of?
www.hyundainews.com is a public website that Hyundai uses to provide media with information
You gotta talk about which versions have AWD standard when comparing prices.
Yes, thanks for mentioning. Only the XRT has standard AWD
@@CarConfections none of the hybrids?
@@stargate25645every other trim will have both fwd and awd options
As a dog owner, the major point is can the 2nd row seats fold up like the old Honda HRV 2nd row did. That is a major feature that seems now days to be impossible to find in an SUV.
that is why I bought the santa fe. I like the bench seats. Kia doesnt have them.
Tow package is not yet available. Sadly, you can’t get the Bose on the XRT. In a totally cheapskate move, XRT doesn’t include the electronic rear view mirror. Finally, additional colors will become available over time.
Bose is amazing on this. Best sound I had in a car.
their definitely stepped up their game with that infotainment center. Tesla should take note.
The calligraphy model does not show up on their website anymore. Looks like the dealers don't have it either. I wonder what happened to it?
Based on what we are seeing, they are beginning to ship around the dealerships slowly now. Almost all of them to people who pre-ordered
They need another trim level between SEL and Limited. One is too basic. The other is too expensive
They need to bring back the premium package for the SEL. They tried to simplify the trim walk by taking packages out, but it just left gaps in the trims.
That said, the XRT is the gap filler in the ICE models, but for those of us waiting on the hybrid that’ll be a big leap to make.
We completely agree. Would love to have a few extra features in a Premium or Convenience package
1:10 where can we find that PDF?
www.hyundainews.com is the press site that journalists use for the most detailed model information
The suv is GORGEOUS but that rear. I cannot get past it. Hyundai needs to switch the Rear lights and the Santa fe badge. Itll break up the bulge back there
So I’ve looked at dealerships in my state and the palisade xrt is about 500 to 1000 cheaper then the Santa fr xrt . I don’t understand the logic on why build it if the better 3 row is cheaper . My 2022 Santa Fe xrt was 37000
Is there going to be an xrt hybrid?
No. The hybrid will only be offered in SEL, Limited and Calligraphy
@@CarConfections would you guys honestly buy this car knowing about the transmission issues if you didn't have a car Career/channel?
Do you have the Bimmer?
Yes
Wow, the calligraphy would be a great trim to go with, but the 21 inch wheels would be an absolute dealbreaker for me. #1 would be the ride quality. You would feel every single bump and expansion joint on the freeway. #2 would be the cost to replace the tires set a tires for that vehicle would be well over $1500 To $2000. That is a big decision when buying a vehicle the cost of changing out the tires and most of these tires only have a life expectancy to a maximum of 50,000 miles so two sets of tires and 100,000 miles will set you back almost $4000 plus the ride quality is not good with 21 inch tires.
We will be driving the Calligraphy VERY soon to see if the ride quality is greatly diminished compared to the other trims
@@CarConfectionsCan you also comment how the ride characteristics compare to the ioniq5/ Genesis gv60/gv70 ?
I really wish the XRT with the 18 inch rims simply had a fully loaded version for itself, would have been such an easy choice without compromising anything.
hi guys-- in 10 to 12 years (when i might be ready to sell), would y’all have any interest in a 1999 Celica convertible 5-speed? Low-mileage, metallic yellow with white seats; im 2nd owner.
If you get the Limited, what don't you get that is on the Calligraphy?
Double wireless charger, captain chairs, C-pillar grab handle, larger 21- inch rims, digital rear view mirror, Just to name a few.
@@jraheemjefcoat429 plus nappa leather seats, suede ceiling, different interior color option, so not a huge amount of differences
@minutemanmuster I forgot Napa seats! Calligraphy is a 6-seater instead of 7 as well. The rims are actually better on the Calligraphy, and I like the gloss black cladding instead of plastic on the rest of the trims.
I would just get palisade for around same money if your looking at Sante fe top models
Also a heads up display
Would love to have one of these and they look even nicer in person but after reading about several people having issues with the transmission, I am either skipping this all together as we're in the market some time this year or waiting for the next year model with hopes the issues have been resolved.
how tall are you guys, just want to see how my family would fit in this vehicle. Thanks
5'8" and 5'9"
The egine sounded like it was rattling when you had the hood up. Is that how it is supposed to sound? Didn't sound good.
😂 my 2.5 Mazda engine sounds the same and it’s a 2016 with 98k on it… so yes most 4cyl engines sound like this
every engine with gasoline direct injection is going to sound like that
SEL 2.5T gasline engine no soft top most suitable for malaysia market.
Does the 2024 Santa Fe have a spare tire?
Yes for the gas models
I can’t decide between the 2024 Santa Fe or the explorer
Explorer if you can afford a major Engine or tranny job in about 5-6 years
The only thing i don't like:- THE BACK LIGHTS SHOULD BE MORE IN THE MIDDLE NOT JUST ON BOTTOM
nobody mentions that the new Santa Fe is inferior to the older one in acceleration. I have the 2021 and it does zero to 60 in 6.1 sec while this 2024 does it in 7.6 sec. after my test drive of the 2024 i drove home in my 2021 and enjoyed the acceleration my 2021 provided. they added 500 lbs and kept the same hp !!reviewers are ignorant! I am keeping my 2021 Santa Fe. it is more enjoyable to drive.
crazy thing.... in EU Caligraphy model is 85K euros, which is roughly 93K USD
😮
Isnt Hardesty a Scottish Highlander last name?????😊😊
I iesh they had done this redesign to the Sa ta Fe when they did the Palisade😂😢
Can it park itself?
Higher end models can
Mine does, forward and reverse while you are out of the vehicle.
This is the most powerful car ine the world
I saw one yesterday at a stop light. The rear is even uglier in person. Geez 😒
The dealership made our 2019 Santa Fe burst into flames, so they are giving us a good discount on a 2024…
Reminds me of charade from daihatsu.
I treat new cars like the new iPhone when it first comes out.... I never buy them cause they have to get all the kinks out before you can fully enjoy it.
Most angles on commercials or ads don't show the back, it looks bad.
The back is very pretty and is considered as a fact to be the nicest car of all time.
Looks like a Ford Flex... along with Ford-like transmission problems!
They’re really saying don’t buy it cause transmission problems start right away 😂
While kia keeps making classy n beautiful cars, hyundai designs look cheap n tacky .
Just one thing that irks me. Hyundai old dated logo does not go well with this new redesigned futuristic boxy SUV.
I am disappointed with the external design, the rear is the worst so far. Biggest turn down?
Transmission is crap.
I would pick the XRT so I could get the Bronze exterior color! 😂
Just be aware that the matte colors can NOT go through a car wash. Will damage the surface.
@@geoffreykline5470 thank you.
I think half the people on the road will think it looks awful, and the other half will be impressed, but regardless, it's going to turn heads for a while.
I don't like the outside, Kia Sorento looks better. It is a pity, before it was the opposite
Only buy the hybrid the double clutch on the 2.5 liter is junk . Dodge that bullet .
The outside looks terrible! What have they done 😢
They should drop the name Santa FE and call it Santa Brick. The previous Santa Fe's had style. This almost looks like a delivery truck not a SUV. The inside looks almost as ugly as the outside.
I though the previous model was kinda ugly, but this one is just horrible. Like a 12 year old designed it.
Number one thing to know is the transmission failed on your NEW Santa Fe!
Looks like a PINBALL MACHINE.
You two look like so much, are you twins?😆
Kia Sorento is for me way better look than hyundai and many more
The rear looks like a fridge
#1 your transmission will break
#2 it doesn’t matter
#3 still it doesn’t matter
#4 did i said this already it doesn’t matter
#5 read number #1

I like how the video was in English, but you ask a question in another language. Rude.
@@MaxPaxton there is a translator.....portuguese to english......and the transmission???? ...my question
8 speed wet dual clutch automatic transmission
@@seansean681 i am aware that there are several cars with problems with transmission...replacement of transmission
@@MaxPaxtonhow tf is that rude
#6 get rid of it before the engine gets too much oil dilution
This vehical is a poor man’s Land Rover. Hyundai killed it with this design
Zero % of this vehicle is comparable to a Land Rover
I have the all black calligraphy and it’s so much fun to drive. Features are endless and safety festures top notch. Oh did I mention power and heated captains seats and 3rd row has its own climate control. Homerun for Hyundai
Gonna be a NO for me
Horrendous SUV
I still think the reliability is an issue… I’m happy for you guys that you like it.
I agree. I have just heard too many bad things about Hyundai and Kia
Google massive toyota and honda class action law suits and current recalls. LOL
Hoda Pilot transmission issues, roof leaks, Toyota sludge, Subaru head gaskets, etc...
Every manufacturer has their issues.
People are quick to jump on Hyundai reliability, but don't want to turn the mirror on Toyota and Honda, who has active recalls right how. One is transmission related!
@@jraheemjefcoat429cuz they think Toyota and Honda are bulletproof. Which is false . I had a Camry xse. . The panoramic roof had problems. 9k to replace it .
If this car sells well, then the definition of “beauty” must’ve changed in English language!
Amen
That thing is ugly 😂. I bought a Buick envista st and it is sexy as hell. So good looking for only 28k
The back end is terrible looking.
I can't get past the rear of the car, looks like they bought all the old Ford Flex inventory and slapped it on the back of this thing.
I cannot stand the rear end styling on these!! 🤮 🤮 What was Hyundai thinking?? 🤦♂️
I don't think they were thinking about this new ugly design. There new design team must be DEI hires.
All you need to know. That is one ugly SUV.
Guys it’s hideous. It has all those H’s. It’s not Hermes it’s a car that used to be seen as pathetic in the Excel days and now it’s just ok.
Zip zip!
@@katmanjenks1961 MUAHAHAHAH
it will sell by the tens of thousands, just cry.

too much cheap plastic especially the doors and center console......horrible
The rear end is just ugly in my opinion. I like everything else.
