This is a killer power ballad. Kanami would have been a guitar legend in the 80's. She is the Riff Goddess.
DAYDREAMING is about the heartbreaking agony of longing to be reunited with a lost love who can never return. And you could pick that up without knowing the lyrics. It gets dusty every time I hear this song. BAND-MAID are amazing.
You are close but she is face to face with that former lover. She asks him to stay the night and you can't do that if he isn't here. It is more like the only thing he was good at was love making and that is not enough for a relationship but it is good enough for a no strings attached roll in the hay for old time's sake. Regards.

I've never needed to see the lyrics to this song. Miku singing "Daydreaming, dreaming of you" is all I ever needed for context.
Drums are really good in ALL of them.... this tune is one of their signature tunes.

"Daydreaming," "YOLO," "Puzzle,” and a host of others are world-class masterpieces. Although I love Daydreaming just the way it is and believe it may be Band-Maid's best composed and overall accessible song, I've always wonder if it was sung in English, how deep in the international market Daydreaming would have traveled...? Gaijin Guys Band Maid fans recently voted Daydreaming as their No.2 favourite BM song. I was surprised but not surprised if that makes sense, it's a top 16 song in my highly scientific list which is constructed with the help of a dartboard.
All I know is however many times I've heard it, the solo still makes me a little misty every time. 🙂

i had the same reaction you did on first listen - it's not my favorite but it's really good. but after a couple more listens it really grew on me and eventually became one of my top 10 from the MAIDS. it really sneaks up on you

I don't see where you've ever done "YOLO". It's been one of my favorites for quite some time, simply because it's crammed full of little things they add that they didn't have to but make the song that much better.
The video was filmed in Taiwan in 2016 .

Actually, the song is about someone daydreaming how a failed relationship could have been made right. The ruins in the video are a metaphor for that relationship.

I love how this song builds and builds and builds until Akane is just pounding the cymbals over and over, which you'd think would be this awful cacophony, but it's somehow fantastic.
Dude just admit it you got all choked up during the kanami explosive sole you literally could not speak or the tears would be unleashed if you rate this anything under a 10 I will lose my hit also on a side note kanami Composed this on her piano just like all the others
Your guess is very close and there is a ton of English in the song. Specifically, our lady comes across a former lover who was an asshole but was great in the sack. She daydreams about could she have a roll in the hay without getting re-involved with the bullshit aspects of the former relationship. Musically this still is probably Kanami's opus rex. For those who say the lyrics don't matter l think you are very wrong. That position completely discounts Miku. I don't care if people are lazy. I do care when crap like that is posted. Small pigeon deserves far better. Regards.

THEIR MULTIPLE WAYS OF WRITING CHARACTERS CREATS LIKE A "3-D CHESS GAME" OF LYRICAL LEVELS. ALL JAPANESE EXPERIENCE LITERARY EDUCATION THAT EXCEEDS THEIR MUSICAL EDUCATION.
