Saiki sounds phenomenol on these ballads in concert. When she sang Endless Story in Chicago their last US performance Akani the drummer cried. Never had a drummer make me cry before. Saiki sings Daydreaming followed by Endless Story.
I knew they would play Endless Story at the show, but even still definitely a highlight to me. I have always loved it as one of my favorites. It's always been so beautiful. It was the 4th most song I listened to this year according to Spotify (the others being Moratorium, Puzzle, Liberal, and I Can't Live Without You).
Kanami's (relatively short) guitar solo is one of the most moving ones that I've ever heard.
"Daydreaming" is Kanami's fave B-M composition & it's not hard to see why. After all she was daydreaming about me when she composed it....probably.😏
Oh, I'm sure she was dreaming about you, Gary. Kanami told me so. She also told me that she was going to use a flute in the solo and I talked her out of it. I showed her what I thought the guitar might sound like for the solo and played it for her. She said it was unbelievable and put her spin on it. At least that's the way I remember my daydream about it. 🤔

Great reaction! I think you'd enjoy their latest video From Now On. It's more of a rocker than a ballad.
That solo still gives me goosebumps even after listening to it hundreds of times.
Doesn't matter how many times I hear this. The one spot that just makes me pretend I have something ins my eye is the Miku emotional backing vocal. They are just a phenomenal band and whatever they do they just hit the right chord with me.

"Daydreaming," "YOLO," "Puzzle,” and a host of others are world-class masterpieces. Although I love Daydreaming just the way it is and believe it may be Band-Maid's best composed and overall accessible song, I've always wonder if it was sung in English, how deep in the international market Daydreaming would have traveled...? The rock ballad to end all rock ballads as far as I'm concerned. This song never fails to lift me up and put a smile on my face.
Jynger, I am proud of you. You lasted until 3:15 until that Band-Maid watcher smile broke out! And you do have a beautiful smile. ;-) I've said it before, there is no other way to watch this band than with a smile. This is a great song, as usual, from these wonderful ladies.
Ty for the wonderful reaction. This is a surprisingly versatile band, which is a big reason why they've endeared themselves so strongly with some fans. They have quite a few mid-tempo songs which, imo, are some of the best they've written (Awkward, Anemone, Matchless Gum, among others). Judging by your channel, you seem to like a harder, more metal sound, so I'd recommend their latest music video "From Now On." It's actually an instrumental, and imo a masterpiece in its genre. You'll love it!
You're right "From Now On" is a masterpiece along with "Onset", & you can never have enough "Rinne" if you want Metal.😁
one of those songs that never gets old or loses it's magic. as of feb 2023 it will be 5 years i've been listening to it. i'm not done yet

I swear one of the only guitarists who has made me cry with a guitar solo. It’s so well written, perfect length and somehow has so much feeling in it. This band is so amazing. They deserve all the love and support they get. WORLD DOMINATION HERE WE COME
Remains my favourite Band Maid song, feels old school yet fresh, the solo alone makes it iconic.

Saiki began singing when her mother would take her to the local bar to visit friends. Saiki would sing Karaoke for something to do. She began vocal lesson at about 14 yo. She was a backup singer and dancer for the agency that Miku was signed with. When it was decide that Miku's voice was too soft for her be the primary singer. They tricked Saiki into joining Band Maid. A great moment in Rock is that Saiki did not walk out when she realize she had been tricked.

They are returning for another US tour this May. Dates and locations have not been finalized yet.
They will be at Rockville in May which I am lucky enough to be attending! Looking forward to it!
@@JyngerSlapz I’m sure you will enjoy it. They will also be touring for their own shows. So if you can get to one of those you won’t regret it. It’s 2 hours long with no opening act, just them. I saw them in DC and Chicago. They vary the set list so no shows are exactly the same.

Rock is Band Maid and face it Rock came before Metal...without Rock there would be no Metal. And I've been saying that for decades. Judas Priest Rob Halford claiming Metal came from the U.K. in a 'Live Concert'... that's fine...and recently in a video of Sammy Hagar's travels interviewing Rock and Metal musicians, as being in the music industry connections he asked Rob Halford in a brotherly endearing way "So where did Metal come from?" And Halford smiled and said "It came from Rock"..."it came from Rock and Roll!"
Rap, hip hop or Pop, is not Rock or Metal, Band Maid or Baby Metal 'but' they are considered Rock or Metal at the Grammy awards...Ha-ha ha!
They are both great artists that make wonderful music. Babymetal fans going "apeshit" or vice versa are a few loudmouths. Your crusade against one or two fools makes no sense, and gives them unwarranted importance. I've seen both bands live and what struck me was the absolute gentleness of both of their respective fans. Seeing the sophistication, humbleness and beauty displayed on stage, how can you not be?
Have to stick with Nightwish,to pop rocky for me.But they are good at what they do.
Try their song Rinne/Reincarnation or their instrumental From Now On.

@@jennyarriola324 One of the struggles with Band Maid, I think, is that they often get described as a metal band, and then metal fans hear them and get disappointed. I'd call Band Maid a rock or hard rock band, but in terms of subgenres they can do whatever they feel like when the mood suits them. They have 70's style bluesy groove rock, they have 80's style heavy metal, they have punky stuff, thrash style stuff, prog rock type stuff, classic j-rock "anime theme song" stuff. That variety makes them interesting to me, but it also means someone checking them out with strong/specific genre tastes might easily hit the "wrong" song and think it's more representative than it is. Also, Saiki and Miku are clean vocals only, so if screams and growls are your metal lane, Band Maid is probably not going to be your jam, which is fine. There's a sound out there for everyone.
Some of their songs are too poppy for me, but a majority of their songs are unreal hard rocking riffs.
Is this the only BM song you've heard? Because if it is, you're way off base on what their sound is.

I really can't stand rock ballads...or so I thought until this band.
