What about starting on your driveway or in your garage? That is what I did / still do :)
Just gotta know the area, and sometimes it takes luck in making sure places are clear. You WILL get some odd stares regardless. Some people find it really cool, others think you're onto some kind of espionage and could even call you in to the cops.

If you run out of idea for a video, I would love to see a 7 - 10 minutes POV video of pure drive in the 360 and the 911, no editing, no music, no review, just the drive

Can we appreciate what massive strides the cinematography has taken recently? The part with the Gold in the carpark could've been a TV ad! Been loving the fantastic videos! Also those videos about getting into automotive CZcams sound fantastic, and would love to see them!
My channel blew up 2 months ago to 158k subscribers, til this day im still in shock and some people even recognize me on the streets, keep on grinding your time will come!

I’m a massive petrol head but also a musician and over lockdown I’ve made the jump into creating some CZcams music/guitar content so I would absolutely LOOOVE for you to do an editing video because that’s been the biggest hurdle for me! Videos like these can be helpful for automotive youtubers like myself wanting to know how to do better. Luckily I’ve recent bought a S15 Silvia and have loads of plans for it so hopefully this year will allow me to get myself out there a bit more and work with more people!

I’m absolutely loving the road test content you’ve been putting out while the road trips haven’t been possible. They put me in mind of Top Gear in the 90s, which I loved! I hope they don’t completely disappear once normality resumes

Great advice. I think the "just do it" part is key (please don't sue me Nike). I'm not on this level *at all* but my experience getting started was I think typical: Have an idea, sit on it for a year because "it's not a good time" , stress and overthink the first video, first video sucks anyway because you don't know what you're doing, learn from that, get better, eventually find a style and niche and start growing.

Hey Sam. Just wanted to say well I’ve been watching you career for years and that you are a real inspiration in the game! One of the automotive CZcams OGs!
Totally agree with the “just going and do it approach”. I started with a £50 cheap camera with terrible audio and been having great fun. My videos are very infrequent and always me just rambling on while driving my 996 or 912 or Golf R or MGB (that feels like a weird set of cars when I see it written down). I don’t have many subscribers but that’s mostly because I don’t feed the CZcams algorithm in a consistent way. I think the advice I’d need is what kind of editing software to use how to set up multi angle shot cameras but I guess that comes with experience.

I just rebooted my car youtube channel by uploading a video after 3 years about the new Mercedes C Class because I'm stuck at home due to covid and Sam uploads this 😂 Liked the vid and I'm only 2 minutes in.

Great video, Sam. Out of the plethora of car YT channels out there, you always come across a genuine and passionate about the subject matter. Would love to see a kind of behind-the-scenes on how you approach filming, setup, editing etc. I think people here would find that incredibly interesting.

The bit about making videos, That’s always been my advice to people is just go and do it with what you have. Your first videos you look back on and think wow I wanna vomit just watching it but it’s how you progress through the years on your channel that makes it interesting

If you're into adventure/lifestyle, check out GeoWizard's "how not to travel across Europe" series. He goes from geneva to bratislava without paying for transportation. He also has a good series where he hikes across norway, never deviating more than 20m from a straight line across it.

Where I live (South Carolina), there aren't too many supercars if any. There's a McLaren dealership in Charlotte and Ferrari, McLaren in Atlanta. So it might be something big here.

Nice, Thanks for the heads up on the Hero Audio choice. Being a sound engineer i.e. boom op sound is important. I started reviewing cars I delivered for work and have had a lot of views but not a lot of subs. I started my car playlist through watching you Sam, Seb, SOL, TGE, AHR, mr JWW, Shmee, STRADMAN, Burlacher, Vehicle Virgins, DDE... Yes a lot of car channels. I'd love to colab with some but being up in manchester makes it hard. Love all content and just gotta push. I do Motorbike and skiing videos too.
Sam really have enjoyed this and your behind the glass podcast you and Tony are a great pair ... Tony’s perspective as a professional dealer is interesting as is of course your ability keep things going.... love to hear your F1 thoughts on schedule, drivers etc when testing starts

Video editing and the software that you use would be great, as your editing and music choices are excellent - would love to know more and your experiences with software and hardware used.
He uses Final Cut Pro, MacBook Pro and Epidemic Sound.

I reckon I could Rustle up some quite interesting content but have little in the way of personality which has to be 80% of a successful channel!
