  • Lauri blade 120 mm modified to my specs what i like.
    I tapered the knife and polished it so it looks better than it left the factory.and then to stop it from rust i did some blueing what turned out really nice and i sharpened as it should be.
    The wood i used is olive wood and some wood from a prize that i won in 1992 with shooting.
    I put some copper on the back en leather in the handle.
    The leather sheath is functional but as i said before leather working is not my thing ;)
    The music is free from jamendo "the zero project"

    wenge wood seems so beautiful until it stains, even the lightest natural stain ive tried has been too much. But that marblewood. It stains wonderful, has amazing grain and is one of the hardest woods ive worked with. Beautiful crafted knife though, i give you props for going the extra distance on every step. also the music made this video very tranquil

    The knife turned out lovely and I'm not surprised that you cherish it.
    I also recently heard the zero project and like it.
    The use of end grain on the handle, and the splitting into two pieces of the length grain with separation - very pleasing to the eye - and the brass end cap.
    Ziet je dat al in het begin, of vormt het zich in de loop van het vervaardigen?
    Mooooi in ieder geval.

    hi very nice knife. I am planning to make my own soon from an old file, first time - my question is about your bevel. it begins in the middle of the blade but at the cutting edge, does it end in a microbevel? Are you just grinding with one main bevel of 22 degres?

    • @Mario-z3p
      @Mario-z3p  Před 10 lety

      NO micro bevel here on this blade as you can see in the pictures i removed the micro bevel.

    • @Mario-z3p
      @Mario-z3p  Před 10 lety

      Ja gelijmd met araldite en wat vulcanized fiber er tussen dit krijg je echt niet meer los.
      De touwtjes zijn om het plaatje er stak tegen aan te houden aangezien ik geen scheve klemme heb.
      Het achterplaatje heeft geen functie is alleen maar optisch mooi maken.
