Before I was saved, I was just living my life and wondering why I kept hitting all these roadblocks, I was just sleepwalking through life. At some point, I realized that God was trying to get my attention, and once I started being intentional about getting in the Word, and made some life changes, eventually I “woke up” out of the matrix. I believe once you “wake up”, this is when you’re truly saved, but it’s also unfortunate to see so many people around me (Christians included) who are still asleep. Why God chooses to wake some of us up, and lets some people stay sleep, I have no idea. But I’m thankful to have been chosen, thankful to be awake, and thankful to be free of the matrix!

It isn't a mystery. The answer is higher dimensions. There's spatial dimensions outside of the 4d universe dimensional universe we live in. They are curled up and can't be accessed directly. That realm of existence is much greater than the physical universe we are in.

People are quite easily pushed into various worldly ways. I live in an ex-Christian nation where people see Biblical faith as a mental disorder or a sign that someone might be a terrible person. Being surrounded by an entire culture of people who insist that you must be a crazy person will make you sometimes feel like you must be a crazy person.

i brought this up the last time this topic was discussed:
the issue with the line of reasoning here is that God is the One who regenerates the heart. We follow that- none of us causes ourselves to be saved.
However, if God does NOT regenerate a heart it cannot be saved! Therefore whether we want to say that God is not actively choosing to predestinate a person to hell, that is EXACTLY what is happening. God does not change a person’s heart so he CANNOT believe in a saving way, therefore it is LITERALLY God predestining them not to believe!

Look at the family unit established by God and its symbolic significance. Our freedom mirrors the autonomy we have as children under our parents' guidance. When a parent intervenes in our decisions, what is said? “As long as you are under my roof, you’re under my rules.” Similarly, as children of God, we are under His roof, His guidance, and His will always takes priority over our own.
Why is it that we're totally fine with the government pulling our strings, but the thought of our perfect almighty God intervening in our lives is just un fathomable… smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

The hatred for Calvinism blinds people from the truth of scripture. I don’t consider myself a Calvinist because I’m still working their doctrine out in my head. I am a member of a Calvinist church because I love expository preaching and I can’t see any holes in the preaching. The Bible says what it says, I can’t help that it goes against free grace, free will doctrine. Until listening to Corey here, Calvinism was the only view of scripture that harmonized the entire word of God. Every other view was man centered theology that only partially adhered to scripture. As much as we want to have the control (free will) , scripture says otherwise. I don’t want to be a Calvinist because of the hatred it receives but it’s closer to the truth than Arminianism. Arminianism leads to some unbiblical soteriological ideas like loss of salvation or salvation not being a gift of God. It diminishes the power of the Holy Spirit. It allows for charismatics to think they can be apostles. At least with Calvinism you know you can’t do anything without Christ.

This topic has always been interesting to me. Corey when you said "that he has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation," the very next verse says "that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us." I will watch the rest of your video to see if you cover this, however it seems like God has determined that we should seek Him. That's an action of the will. If perhaps, there's a choice. We may or we might not. We should and believers do. This leads me to conclude that God's will is for our salvation and He puts us where we are so that we will choose Him. He is not far from each one of us so the only way I can see someone being put in the place where they would seek Him and not doing so is free will, a gift of God used wrongly. Our will should align with God's for our salvation. If I'm wrong that's ok I still have put my trust in Jesus whether I have free will or not. Brother Corey if I get the chance to speak with you on this I'd like to. If you are busy that's ok too.

I worry that a lot of people believe that God is beholden to our free will. Paul was on his way to destroy some believers, when Christ knocked him off his horse and in God’s mercy gave him a new heart. I do not remember Christ asking Paul if he’d like to suffer for the proclamation of the gospel. Christ told him what he had been called for. Christ elected him. Some people call that a violation of Paul’s free will, Paul called it MERCY.
“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;”

Paul was a Pharisee. Paul knew the Scriptures. When Jesus appeared to him, he understood that it was God appearing to him. How is that a violation of his free will?
God choosing to "prove" Himself to someone in a manner in which there can be no doubt is not a deterministic violation of Paul's free will, it's persuasion with a guaranteed success rate because of His foreknowledge. Even though the outcome might still be the same, it's a huge difference.

👆This is SALVATION. God in His mercy elects someone and chooses to reveal Christ to them. Paul believed in Christ because he was a Pharisee?? He literally says he was a blasphemer and a violet aggressor. He did not believe because he was a Pharisee, he believed because God showed him mercy.
Finally this is what Paul thought of his pharisaism…👇
“More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;”

@@childofgrace1234 Are you purposely misrepresenting my point, or did you just make a mistake?
My point was that Paul was a Pharisee - he was educated in and knew the Scriptures. Which means that, just like any other Pharisee, he was equipped to recognize Jesus when he saw Him. Some didn't, obviously, because they were blinded by their own status, traditions, self-righteousness, etc. Others did recognize Jesus, like Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea. If Paul had seen Jesus during his earthly ministry, he likely would've recognized Him for who He is then, but he didn't. Jesus, in His sovereign timing, revealed Himself to Paul later. This is merely persuasion, not an example of God overriding someone's free will.

Very informative video. I understand calvinism much better now. No matter how old it is we all know it as calvinism. The most important thing is that we are all saved. Most of people anyway, if not all, who are watching this are most likely saved people. Whether they believe God chose them by his grace and gifted them salvation because it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Or whether they believe God chose them by his grace and gifted them salvation because it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that he chose to believe. It doesn't matter if you're a calvinist, baptist, methodist, presbyterian, dispensationalist or whatever. If you believe, you're saved. This little issue gets people heated and sows discord among believers. Do you believe or does God make you believe? Doesn't matter. Once you believe you're blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places and are sealed with that holy spirit of promise. Amen. God bless brother.

If we recognize the unbelief of our heart we can ask the Lord to correct this condition.
6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE." 7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you. • @ericdrasmussen
    @ericdrasmussen Před měsícem

I go by the understanding that God is eternal who lives outside of space and time, who created space and time. We know in the scriptures that God is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. He foreknew before we were even created. So by this understanding it is my belief that because God already knows the outcome, He also knows who will receive His word, and who will refuse His word.
We also know that God is never changing, does not lie, and is good since sin cannot exist in His realm. With that understanding it is my belief that God does not make us believe or disbelieve. However, He can make His presence known (Saul who becomes Paul as one example of many) and by this new understanding will open the heart and mind of that individual who will then believe. God can move in ways that He knows will make us a true believer in Him. That does not mean he forced that person to believe. I look at it more like He lifted the curtain for a moment for that individual to see or know the truth.
If God decided to give us the same experience as He gave the Apostle John, we would pierce our physical realm and see with our spiritual eyes all that God wanted to reveal and experience. It would most likely transform our thoughts and minds in ways we cannot understand right now unless we experienced it directly as the Apostle John did. We would most likely become true believers.
With all this as my current understanding and belief, I am so eternally grateful that my heart and mind were in a ready state to hear His word and truly believe without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. That only through Him can we come to the Father. Only through Jesus our sins are paid by Him through our belief in Him. My heart goes out to all who are not open or willing to hear His word and invite Him into their hearts so that the Holy Spirit may testify to their spirit and the truth will set them free.
I love you all and desire none of you to perish in disbelief. Nothing is more important in life than to come to know the truth and believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To have eternal life in His presence instead of eternal life forever separated from His presence. We may stumble along the way, but always be diligent in coming to our Lord in repentance and prayer. That the fruits of our salvation is made known by our walk in the light of Christ and the salt of the Earth.

That you were born was not your will. Whether you will be born again will not be by your will. When Jesus said, "Ye must be born again, or you cannot see the kingdom of God", He was explaining the resurrection. We had to be born to come into this physical world. We will have to be "born again" in the resurrection to come into the kingdom of God.
John 3:3-6 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water [physical birth, born] and of the Spirit [resurrected, born again], he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
We are still flesh (dust); we are not yet spirit.
John 3:7-9 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
We are not yet like the wind.
1 Corinthians 15:53-54 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Ezekiel 37:11-14 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

We know that God could have just made humans to do whatever he wants them to do, and be however he wants them to be.
So if that is all God wanted, then all the gory pain and sufferings of humanity would be so vain and unnecessary. And would be an indictment against the Biblical character of God.
The Scriptures you read in 2 Peter 3:9
"The Lord is....... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
This verse of Scripture alone totally destroys the notion, that God totally chooses who will be Saved without any participation on the part of the one receiving Salvation.
This verse of Scripture is the truth, and being the truth means that if a person being Saved has no part in accepting God's Salvation, but are totally and completely Saved by God's sovereign will, then according to this one verse, God would Save EVERYONE.
NO ONE WOULD BE LOST, Because that is God's will.
We know that we are ALL born spiritually dead towards God, with no ability whatsoever to reach up to God.
Death cannot reach up to life, life must reach down to death.
So that is what the Holy Spirit does in the world. He touches every heart, giving each person the opportunity to either run to the light or run deeper into the darkness.
So, God is the initiator, but he does this for everyone.
    John 1:9 KJV
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
    John 16:8-9 KJV
    And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: [9] Of sin, because they believe not on me;
Christ, in the person of the Holy Spirit enlightens the heart of everyone, but not everyone responds in their heart to seek God, but many choose to reject Him.
The following Scriptures clearly says the predestination and election of God is based upon the foreknowledge of God.
    Romans 8:29 KJV
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
    1 Peter 1:2 KJV
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Any understanding of other Scriptures on this subject, must be rightly with the truth of these Scriptures.
No. It is a straw man argument to say those who are Saved, and believe that there was a choosing by their own heart involved in their Salvation, means they think they have something to boast about. That is not what any of us have EVER said, believe or express. Except God touches us first, we would all still be dead in our trespasses and sins.
That is your Strawman, beat him, burn him or drown him, who cares, its your Straw Man, not ours.
    God Bless

Why did Jesus speak parables, he said it was not for them to know, If he spoke plainly they would repent, this scripture alone say it is not all men. Jesus also said it was hidden from the wise and the prudent, you can't repent of the gospel is hidden from you. Stop calling God's scripture a straw-man he will hold you accounting, he inspired the scripture.

God gives a new heart, it is called being born again and Jesus was referring to Ezekiel 36:25-27 when talking to Nicodemus about being born again, in those verses God is the one who puts his spirit in us and causes us to walk in his way, he is the that takes out our heart of stone (will) and puts in heart of flesh (his spirit).

God can do whatever he wants to, however he wants to. As long as it doesn't violate his personal holy character.
So the question is this, if as God, I want to make human creatures that will serve me because that is how I made them, then why would I put them through the current human experience, except if I didn't make the human creatures to serve me just because I made them that way, but made them with a freewill to either accept me as their Creator or reject me as their Creator.
Then the current human experience is a valid, and perhaps the only way to allow the human freewill experience to play out.
And the truth is this, Love Demands A Freewill.

I’m not sure why you made a distinction from Gods definition of Free Will offering vs Man’s definition for Free Will.
Why would we change the meaning if it’s Gods definition not ours.
Also I don’t see a difference from a Free Will offering vs what we need to do for God to work in us and step in with our Free Will.
Why are you making it mean 2 different things?
Can we choose to offer our soul to the world and not God?
If God tells us over and over do not worship any other gods then we obviously have free will (Gods definition not man’s) to choose.
What is Love according to God?
What is different in our inner man that makes God choose one and not the other?
What do we have to offer as a free will offering? Is it not our soul? Does God not tell us this is our choice?
Did Jesus not offer his life for ours by choosing to do Gods will over his own will?
“saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.””
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭42‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
    Is Jesus not our example?
Is this not what we are supposed to do?
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
So please explain to me how it’s different from a free will offering.
What is it that we all have in common?
We are all born with the same ability to choose to sacrifice for another. That is called Love. It’s called having a pure heart even if it’s for a moment or moments. God doesn’t say we need to be perfect because it’s impossible. But there’s something God sees in us that he judges who is his people and who is not.
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.””
    ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬
There’s way too many examples in the Bible to ignore.
God still doesn’t give everyone new heart.
You are saying we have to circumcise our hearts for him to work in our life but I don’t agree. It doesn’t say that in the Bible.
He is giving a new heart because if he don’t we will not be perfect for him and Holy.
No one is Holy inwardly but that doesn’t mean he chose people based on nothing of our own.
He chooses to make our spirit perfect so we can please him.
Then one day he will also make our Body perfect as well.

@@kgar5String It’s important to look at why Abel’s offering was accepted and not Cains.
Then what does the Bible tell us on why God does not accept our offerings?
Paul touches on this later when he tells us in Corinthians how we are to give offerings to God and how not to.
Does God force us or does he want it to be genuine?
I will leave scripture but if you can’t see it then I suggest you pray for the Holy Spirt to show you Truth.
“‘Take from among you an offering to the Lord. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as an offering to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze;”
      ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭35‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“The children of Israel brought a freewill offering to the Lord, all the men and women whose hearts were willing to bring material for all kinds of work which the Lord, by the hand of Moses, had commanded to be done.”
      ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭35‬:‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”
      ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
      ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Not everyone has a willing heart to sacrifice for their brother or neighbor.
The Bible says none will choose God unless he chooses us but it never says we can’t have a giving heart to people.
Jesus says even an evil person gives gifts to thier children.
We were made in Gods Image so he gave us all the qualities and what we need to be genuine. This is explained in Romans 2.
“for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them)”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
No man will be without excuse.
Saying some are chosen and others are not no matter what is contradictory to the Bible and there’s no way around that at all.
So I suggest not reading scripture to fit your understanding and changing it. But read scripture with love and try to understand God and what he’s telling us throughout the whole Bible.

The dilemma with freewill is …. God knew before the foundation of the world those that would choose him, yet he made them anyway. So we could accuse God of being unfair for creating those he knew would not choose him.

You are either a slave to Christ or a slave to sin as a believer in Christ. Natural man has not been purchased by Christ hence, they are a slave to sin only. Natural man will only exercise his sinful nature of me, myself, and I. Slaves are not free by definition. What gives the Christian the ability to choose right or wrong is truly knowing the truth of God’s Word which offers up a choice of right or wrong in the path of obedience vs disobedience.

    Does man have free will?
No. The carnal man has a will. And this will that man possesses is not free but enslaved. The enslaved man makes choices according to his fallen nature, due to the fall. And because man is dead in trespasses and sins, he has lost the moral ability to choose what is good. He chooses evil of necessity due to a corruption of nature, and cannot do otherwise, so his will is in bondage to sin.
Jesus said "he who sins is a SLAVE to sin.. but if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed." Here the bible defines freedom relative to our relationship to sin. Last time I checked, a slave is not free, which is why only the grace of God can set us free from bondage. Jesus declared "the Spirit quickens, the flesh counts for nothing... that is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me grants it." - John 6;63, 65

@@kgar5String well, according to calvinism God had chosen that people are sinners. I haven't chosen to sin I am born a sinner so I had no choice.
I had no choice because my natural behavior is to sin, which God predestined for me.
Do you expect me as a 5 year old to have the knowledge that I am damned to hell if I lie because I am scared of someone?
Christians say - And so say I - That we are born sinners.
I didn't choose to be born a sinner.
I'd rather be born a godly and perfectly holy man. But I am not.

It’s a genuine free will offering.
      Without compulsion.
So maybe God is lying and saying he makes you give a free will offering.

Maybe we should change what God says or the meanings of words to make what we say sound good. 🤦🏻‍♂️

He clearly showed us here how his will wanted a different way but his choice to do the Fathers will is what he wanted to do.
