  • As crazy as blackholes are, they are fairly difficult to create. Not every star will collapse and break physics.
    Before we learn about when and how blackholes form, lets look into the process keeping stars balanced and what separates one stellar corpse from another.

    While working on my next video I realize I made an error in this video. During neutronization (or formation of the neutron star) The electron does not form a positron but rather becomes unincorporated and a neutrino takes its place. I apologize for not checking that section better.

    • @ButWhySci
      @ButWhySci  Před 2 lety +39

      @@MrRohailbootwala Honestly I've spent like two hours trying to find the exact mechanism for this process that explains it in simple english. So far everything I've found is more or less "protons and electrons fuse to form neutrons and release neutrinos". My guess is that the weak interaction causes the electrons wave function (a lepton) to stimulate the creation of a neutrino (a lepton) and as a result the electrons wave function ceases. It's perhaps something that's explained mathematically somewhere and not in simple english hence why I haven't found it. "protons and electrons fuse to form neutrons and release neutrinos" is more or less good enough, but I always like to ask Why? or How? Disappearing particles are more mysterious than appearing ones so I'm curious where exactly the electron went.

Nevertheless, I received new information for me in your videos. It is probably just as the commentator wrote. Other science explainers just leave out these interesting aspects.
      By the way, there would be a very extensive set of topics that many science people don't talk about, but where I would be interested in your opinion, research and assessment. It would also be great if we could write about it in more detail in a private chat.
      Roughly speaking, it is about three different reality models, which are similar to each other and which I consider very promising, developed by rather unknown scientists independently of each other. These three people could not be more different. One is an American IT engineer. One is a German civil engineer. One is an American physicist. The explanatory models of Jim Elvidge, Axel Klitzke and Thomas Campbell have in common that they assume that the (human) mind is the basis of our universe. Campbell cites as one of the indicators that in the double-slit experiment it is not the measurement itself that makes the difference between particle and wave, but it is whether a consciousness can take note of the measurement result or not.

    This channel is absolutely fantastic, I just discovered it, and truly you have a much more understandable way of explaining this topics. Keep up, and I ve read a comment before which made me laugh, "The only thing more confusing to me than quantum mechanics is how you don't have 10 million subs" (Dolan Duck), I totally agree :))

    Hey, I love your videos. You have a keen sense of explaining a lot of things that are normally counterintuitive. If you take requests, I wonder if you could work your magic and explain time dilation on the basis of constant velocity, acceleration and gravity? It would be great if you could explain the differences AND how the three relate to each other, are manifestations of the same effect, etc.
