    R E A D Y!?
SHADOW MAN - Without a SHADOW of a doubt I knew this one would be fun. Not throwing any SHADE on other boss themes but I really had a lot of fun remixing this one!
Although the video didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to - and the lighting could have been better - It's still something I'm proud of! I wanted to push my self a bit further and start working on animating a charachter.
Namely Onion Knight! Took me hours to model and rig him up. Still needs work but it's been fun trying to animate the little guy 🙂
As for the music, I wanted to go for a bit of a lighter approach as opposed to the last remix. To be honest I didn't really like how the last one turned out, way too noisy. So this one was a bit more jovial and rhythmic!
But that's okay, I'm not going to worry about it too much - because now we have: 22 bosses down, 62 more to go!
    🥳🎉MEGAMAN 1- 3 HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN REMIXED!!🎉🥳
    THE MEGAMIX CLASSIC CONTINUES!!

Woo, yeah! Man, Titan, this one is so dang groovy, and I'm especially fond of the music here. Prior to listening for the first time, I'd never heard this song before, but you made it so easy to get into. And the visuals! Dope, as usual... well, let's get down to business!
First, the audio! Man, I love the way it leads in gradually with that tightly plucked guitar - that's a sound I haven't heard (much) before in your music, and I really like it! It has kind of a retro-cool feel, and really fits the theming of the robot master on stage with its darker tones. And those grace notes are super slick and they imbue the melody with extra character. I feel like it's an underutilized technique, and it's awesome to see it being used here as a core part of the arrangement. But what _really_ got me is that piano - so good! Leading in hard and heavy with those bass notes just got me hooked right away - I love when piano is used as, or in tandem with, a bass instrument. But then you went in such a stylish direction, with all these wild ascending phrases. The one at 0:42 in particular was incredible, in tandem with that riser, and it's such an amazing buildup. I listened to that segment ad nauseum just to get my fill of it. 😁 And the distorted guitars work really well in tandem with the saw synths to create a rich, buzzy texture that contrasts the clean and crisp piano and the aforementioned plucked guitar. The melodic elements are so on-point here!
But not to overlook the drums, because those are tight, as well! I know I mention this often, but I really enjoy and appreciate that you constantly keep the rhythms and drum elements dynamic. No one could _ever_ accuse your beats of being stale (I mean, who would in the first place) because they're continually shifting and morphing in a way that's subtle during larger segments and more impactful between parts - as it should be! Even something as minor as the addition of a hi hat, or a more complex rhythm, or even dropping out a particular drum... all that stuff keeps it sounding varied and interesting throughout! One thing you're already doing that I'd love to see even more of is the use of drum fills, risers/downsweeps, transitional SFX, and other stuff like that. Like I said, that buildup beginning around 0:39 was just too cool!
And speaking of cool... how sick is it to see Onion Knight in a Megamix Classic video?! When I saw the helmet pixelate away (and great object transition, by the way), it threw me for a loop for a brief moment before I saw something that looked like a little samurai appear in the peripherals. And equipped with the katana and his onion stalk looking like a high ponytail, he _totally_ looks like he's ready to slice things up and make the bad guys cry (🧅😭) traditional Eastern-style! The animations are great, between his ready stance and the variety of directional sword swings. The backhand in particular must have been pretty tricky to pull off, I imagine, and I love that your videos utilize the Z-axis as a core aspect of the animations. And even the way you programmed an entire fight scene, with him batting back the enemy Shadow Blades, coming in for some Melee strikes, and finishing up with that big counterattack right at the end - what a finisher!! Seriously, I love the effort, creativity, and thought that goes into your videos, and you continue to find new ways to surprise your viewers while keeping that Megamix essence intact. Producing music, modelling 2D and 3D assets, an integrating it all into a series of detailed videos... you can do it all!
Keep up the amazing work, my friend! I know the road ahead is long, but I have huge admiration for your dedication to remixing the entire series' soundtrack. Congrats on seeing the first 3 games' level themes to completion, and I look forward to many more! 🌟

Thanks for always writing out such detailed comments. I know they must take a lot of time and effort to put together especially with the timestamps. It's always fun reading through them and learning new terms like grace notes!
You just know I gotta use that piano as a bass! I think it's becoming more of a staple of mine similar to how you use your synthetic violin 🤖🎻 among other instruments and techniques in your own music. And while I do enjoy using the more grittier stuff, it's always good to branch out and try out some new sounds. I'm really glad you mentioned the "Buzzy" texture for the synths and guitars. I just couldn't quite describe it until now, thanks!
I think I just subconsciously work more towards the drumming because it's just so fun to fill in those drum patterns. Sometimes I just get a little carried away and end up wanting to use it all before the track ends 😂. Regardless I'm glad to hear that you enjoy all the little variations!
Ahahah funny you mention the samurai thing. I wanted to rebuild Onion Knight for a while since it was pointed out to me that he looks like a pear. And seeing how this video was a milestone in this project I decided now would be a good time to bring him back and practice some charachter animations. The samurai thing was COMPLETELY unintentional ahahah. I just looked up an actual onion and tried to mimic the green stack coming out of his head. I guess it kinda does look like a pony tail though. And yes the backhand swing took me the most time to get right. You my friend would make for a great animator!
I'll admit though that I wish the animations were a bit better. I had plans to include a little dialog box to select an attack (like in an RPG) and maybe like a "limit break" charge up before he goes for the attack. Oh and the lighting could have been a lot better. Regardless I'm still happy with how it turned out and with how well this series has been received so far.
It's good comments like yours that remind me of how much fun it is to work on this stuff. To see someone take so much time and effort out of their day to give you their thoughts on a video you spent hours on means a lot. See you around EQ! 💎
