UCLA blocking was the big determining factor in this match. Also UCLA hit 386 (and that was with K. Kobrine having the worse hitting percentage I can remember since he has been starting) and Pepperdine hit 167 for the match.
Before the season started, I thought this would be a critical match for seeding for the NCAA Tournament. I though the top three teams would be UCLA, Pepperdine and Long Beach State. Pepperdine has moments and have the talent but haven't put it together for long enough streaks to beat some teams I thought they would have been able to beat.
