Hey everyone!
What are the most useful apps to use when you are blind or are visually impaired?
Today I’m doing a video on Apps and specifically Apps that I use as someone with a visual impairment/disability. I talk about Apps that I use that make my life easier and how I use an iPhone with accessible features. I talk about Apps that help me with traveling, reading, writing, shopping and other tasks.
If you enjoy my content and want to support me feel free to buy me a coffee: ko-fi.com/A2587HJ

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to come on here and say a huge thank you to everyone for your awesome app recommendations! This is what CZcams is all about, conversation and sharing ideas and inspo. This is also why I love you guys xx
hi, can these, or any other apps be used offline? my dad has itouch but refuses to get wifi, he has internet through broadband so he can get online, but im looking for something he can use at home and out and about that do not require internet
Loved this Emily. Very informative thank you xx
I still have trouble finding apps for my wrists problems other than the same voice text
I’m glad you showed this because I was a bit outdated on assisted technology. Last I remembered was Jaws.
Zoom and magnifier on my iPhone are my main 2 features that I use. The camera can see better in dark or low light places so if I have to find something quickly or drop something I turn on the camera feature since my peripheral vision isn’t the best.
Kindle app is great because I can comfortably read with bigger font and night/dark mode turned on. Black text against a white background hurts my eyes too much.
Thanks for showing us the apps. I'm a member of RNIB library too and will try this.
Hi thanks for the info I go to check out some that I heard from your vlog that might help with my vision Impairment
Hi! Are you familiar with the app called Be My Eyes? It is an app that will connect you to a cited individual and they can see through your camera to assist you with whatever you might need. For example, I use it a lot when I drop something and I can’t find it on the floor.
I use my magnifying glass to read the phone screen. Really not too familiar with phone apps for VI people. thanks for this video
Nice one. I love the magnifier on the iPhone on a daily basis.
As you embark on this new challenge, I want to express my sincere appreciation for your hard work and dedication. You have shown great skill and professionalism in your previous role, and I am confident that you will succeed in your new one. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Good luck!
Great video, thank you 😊❤️👍
Hi fashioneyesta, I found your channel through charlottes and I just wanted to say a big hi and I will continue to watch your vlogs. Your vlogs are very informative and enjoyable. Your very pretty too!!!!! :)
Thank you for helping me
Great video as always and I must say the thought of you walking around a bar or restaurant "tippsey " is a site I would love to see I bet it's priceless and ofcose I have the notes button turned on as if I could run the risk of missing you
Ps I must say as always are so very beautifull 😍😙😍😙
Hi, wow! you are so beautiful and amazing. A friend Alex who hosts VI Critic shared you with me today and I shared this video on my live streaming broadcast. You are very clear easy to understand and love your energy. I subscribed and followed you. Thanks for the great video.
Hi Emily, I am in the US and use a Samsung Android phone. One app I use to help with font sizes is called Big Font. You can also add custom sizes too. I also love Audible for reading books. Thanks for the great video.
I'll look into that one, thank you! Also yes Audible is the best!
Great video! Like the phone screen inserts on the right. Magnifier on iPhone is also good, and Google Maps can give you directions (use with headphones). Smartphones have made life with a VI much easier.
Goggle maps tells you to go round round about that don’t exist and yes I know I’m 4 years late.

The wallet app that comes with the phone is the same as store card you can store your bank and loyalty cards
What's great about the iPhone you can use voice over and also on the iPhone accessibility feature is built right in so you can turn voiceover on the iPhone out of the box and you can even tell Siri to turn on and off voice over
I have diabetic retinopathy which causes me to see the world in a big blur
Aira/be my eyes should defo be added to this list.
Nice nails. I’d love to be able to paint my own nails. There is only one problem.
Hi Emily and I’m also one of your viewers here in the UK we have quite a bit in common and have you ever considered using the app be my eyes is and she better than seeing AI in so many aspects in which it connects you to a real live volunteer
I personally haven’t tried it yet, but I may in the future for some things
Hi im a blind from phillipines
I didn't even know that Wetherspoons had an app. 🙈🙈 I must ask though, how did you scan that barcode so quickly? I can never find it so give up most of the time. I use iDentifi on a regular basis. It's an app that if you take or inport pictures, it tells you what it is, and if there's text in the picture, you can change it to read text. What's your favourite game to play? I use the overdrive quite regularly also.
The app finds the barcode.
Android, the best! To make it even better, use Jieshuo (Commentary)! An app that can help you a lot is super sense. Thanks!
Iphones are the best. My bone anchored hearing aid app isn’t compatable with android.
I use tiny scanner at my local bingo hall to log into my bingo bee as I can’t read my number on my membership card.
wow!!!!! that's awesome!!!!!! you are beautiful
tkuuu
Great video x Can't find seeing AI on my apps

Hi is only for iPhone I have a Samsung.
@@toniedudley6108 Then it will have to be envision.
A woman on a bus once told me I couldn't be blind/partially sighted because I was typing too quickly. Of course she also didn't see the 7K typos I'd made.
Moley Mole 😫🙄 I’ve had that too or the other one “she’s looking at her phone she can’t be blind.”
The ever classic "you don't look blind".
Moley Mole URGHHhHH!! Right?
Oh yeah!

You are awesome. There are so many misconceptions about Visually Impaired people.
Scribe is a pretty good service for a 8.99 as well check it out if you get the opportunity
Is there any free app where we can chat with each other as a community and just hang out . That would be amazing thank you
Facebook.
Hello my name is edith Shannon and I am visually Inmpard and I have a I phone are all of the Apps that you have are ther available in the United States and can you get them all of the Apple store thank you so very much love you 😍
You’d have to find out yourself, can’t see why not though some apps available on iphones are not available on android.
Next time you get asked about reading or typing ask them if they’ve heard of screen readers like jaws. When I got my sony phone the guy well meaning set it to talk. I don’t really need it so we told it to shut up.
Emily do you remember me Sophie
Hi Sophie ❤️
