  • in this simple design we attempt to show how we can recover lost amps due to using LED lights on solar panels, this is just one way to do it maybe not the best way but none the less is one of the ways we integrate a battery into a circuit in which to recover amps
Let's clarify the situation with the MPPT charge controller and the flow of energy in your setup.
MPPT Charge Controller: This type of charge controller is designed to optimize the power output from solar panels by adjusting the voltage and current to match the requirements of the battery being charged.
Connecting Solar Panel and Battery: When you connect both the solar panel and the battery to the MPPT charge controller:
The solar panel generates a higher voltage, let's say 36 volts.
The battery is at a lower voltage, say 12 volts.
The MPPT charge controller adjusts the voltage from the solar panel down to the battery's voltage level (12 volts in this case), while simultaneously converting the excess voltage into additional current.
Energy Flow: In your setup, the excess voltage from the solar panel does not disappear; instead, the MPPT charge controller converts this excess voltage into additional current. This current is then used to charge the battery efficiently.
Direction of Flow: The energy flows from the solar panel through the MPPT charge controller to the battery. The controller ensures that the energy is converted optimally to charge the battery, even if the voltage from the solar panel is higher than the battery's voltage.
Efficiency: The MPPT charge controller maximizes the efficiency of this process by dynamically adjusting to changes in sunlight and battery state, ensuring that the energy produced by the solar panel is effectively utilized to charge the battery.
Efficiency: The MPPT charge controller maximizes the efficiency of this process by dynamically adjusting to changes in sunlight and battery state, ensuring that the energy produced by the solar panel is effectively utilized to charge the battery.
Therefore, in your setup, the excess voltage from the solar panel is managed by the MPPT charge controller, which converts it into usable current to charge the battery. This ensures that the energy produced by the solar panel does not sit unused or disappear but is efficiently utilized to maintain and charge the battery as neede doYes, when you connect both the solar panel and the battery to the same junction or connector in your system, the amperage (current) from both sources will combine. Here’s how it works:
Voltage Equalization: Initially, the voltage will equalize to the lower voltage level, which is typically the battery voltage (12 volts in your case). This means the 36 volts from the solar panel will be effectively brought down to 12 volts when they are connected together.
Current Integration: Amperage (current) from both the solar panel and the battery will add together. This allows the total current available to charge or power devices to be the sum of the currents from both sources.
System Integration: Your MPPT charge controller, or whatever charge regulation system you have in place, will manage this combined current and optimize the charging of the battery or the powering of your system devices. It ensures that both the voltage and current are utilized efficiently and safely according to the requirements of the connected devices or battery.
So, to directly answer your question: Yes, the amperage from the battery and the solar panel will integrate together when they are connected through the solar junction or connector. This integration allows your system to utilize both the voltage and current from both sources effectively.
