How did your revision go today?
I hope this video was helpful, I am going to be uploading lots of videos over the next few weeks and during GCSEs too with all of the advice I have - so make sure you're subscribed :)
To summarise:
- prioritise paper 1, but do not neglect paper 2
- spam practice questions
- flashcard lots, especially in the days before the specific exam
- read exam reports (video on this soon ...)
i havent started :/ i think im finished. my worst subject is scienccce (on a 5-4, im happy with a 6-5 / 6-6 or even a 5-5. english history are okay for me, maths is a little hard, getting 5s rn but want 6s and 7s and french is mid.
i havent started, content for science especially i havent fully leartn, how shall i start revising?
@@paint1068from what I’m understanding u defo seem more of an English/history person rather than science/ maths person, so defo revise lots of maths and science, for maths do the 5 a day Corbett maths like he said, and do practice questions on topics u find hardest, and do pass papers
for science, since u haven’t started learning much content, I suggest doing practice questions, id suggest doing those 6 markers, and depending on what topic the 6 marker is on u can look at ur text book and read over it for about 10 mins and then answer the 6 marker, if that’s makes sense, for example, if the 6 marker is on comparing xylem and phloem cells, read over that chapter in ur text book about xylem and phloem for 10-15 mins and then answer the question.
revise required practicals for science, they r very important as there will 100% be a 6 marker asking about a method of required practicals, so revise as many as u can
ur defo not finsihed bro we still have time, don’t stress or else ur gonna waste more time and procrastinate, you’ve got thissss💪💪💪
@@aleezahqureshi4438 idk man, i feel like for science its too much work to do, i tried to use freesciencelessons videos whilst making flashcards a few days ago, got overstressed and gave up. now im stuck. i dont really know how to benefit from past papers cause theres too much topics to go over..
@@paint1068awh man, i totally understand u, tbh with u I’m also rly behind in sciences, my fault tho for not starting earlier, I’ve made like some A3 mind maps on the units and am going thro them and have done some practice questions on cell biology, but I just feel like it’s not enough
But bro I still suggest u do at least a few 6 markers on the topics u struggle on most and do what I said before, it doesn’t matter if u don’t get thro all of them, if u do this u will defo few more confident and better than you’ve done some revision, rmbr some is better than none!
im desperate atp lool tysm i need to stop watching these 'how to get 9s' videos and start actually doing the revision
true i made that mistake so i just revised past papers the day before the exam and i think im doing decently.. also Jesus loves u God bless ❤
same here lmao, good luck!
no worries! yeah that's the problem with having a revision channel often what helps is actually going and revising 😭i did the same tho in gcses, it's useful to have an idea of how to revise and what to do - just as long as you don't spend too much time dong that!
rn im just doing tons of past papers then seeing what I've done wrong then learning that
Any tips for chemistry? I get stuck even on past papers, and then confuse myself. In my mocks, I got 7 on average for chemistry. I do triple, higher.
@@1lham_editsI’m almost certain that was just a way of flexing your grades 😂
@@1lham_editsprobably just focus on content first and use seneca and free science vids and pre made quizlets online
@@Thepianoman. it wasn't meant to be. I'm aiming for a grade 9, which is my predicted grades for bio and physics. If I don't get a 9 on chemistry, it may not affect me much, much I mustn't have any regrets because I can still work towards it. Am not sure what I want to do after school either, so having the best grade would give me more options. My friend, for example, gets higher marks and grades than me. I wanna beat that.
@@1lham_edits honestly ik u dont mean it in that way bro in my country 7 is sorta meh, gave igcses btw

i mean shit, i was thinking i was unprepared for paper 2 since i haven't reviewed it yet but i'll start revising it then
by covering flashcard is it 1 hour a day or 1 hour split between several
1 hour a day is what i did
defo start revising it is my advice
i’ve been revising from march mainly priortising paper 1. Won’t lie it was a bit lethargic but i’m doing paper 2 content early morning. i think rn my biggest concern is math, i can do grade 9 topics but drop marks
w bro you've been helpful so far, if you have anyone that has done other languages like chinese or german that would be really helpful for me
i'll ask around - glad i've been helpful :)

hi Henry, could you do a video focused on Geography Paper 3? My teacher isn't great and we've only just started doing work on it so bit unsure about that one. good video as always!
Just to let you know, we have a lovely teacher who is really good. So, we have only just started paper 3 right now, so you are starting at the right time but I completely understand that you're worried
If it makes you feel any better, I've just started Paper 2 content!

omg same we only started going through paper 3 after easter

Hi, I have a question. Right now, for English literature I have a website which I use that has grade 9 quotations + analysis for every theme. The only problem I have is that the analysis is really bulky and big since it’s detailed and I can’t seem to memorise it like I can with science or other subjects. I’ve tried using flashcards but for some reason I can only memorise science, geography etc with flashcards but I can’t seem to memorise all of the analysis and make it stay in my head. Please could you give a suggestion as to what to do ?
What’s the website you use?
the best thing i can think of is to slim down what you write on the flaschards much more- maybe add a couple words that can help you analyse in the exam
Which shoudl i prioristise pastpapers of specific topic questions, if my timings are fine?
both! both if you can, tr past papers and then topic questions on your weak topics
Hello Henry, I have done every past paper for science and I’ve had this problem for around a month now. I don’t know what to do now as I go through my flashcards every time but I want to apply my knowledge. I’ve asked my teachers what they would do but all the recommendations they make I don’t find useful. Any help would be appreciated thanks. Do you also think it is a waste of time doing those papers again or not?
hiya, firstly - that's a good problem to have!
i also ordered some cgp papers and primrose kitten predicted papers :)
they're not amazing but still helpful
Is it okay if I haven't finished all the content for paper 2? I'm aiming to finish going through it at least once before next week!
yeah that's defo okay :)
My teacher does the Corbett maths 5 a day in our maths lessons for starters 😭
its goated
Hiya what would you advise I do as I haven’t made all of my flashcards (have done some topics but not full papers) as they take hours to do. Do I pull all nighters to finish them or use others or what? (Some of my topics are pretty niche so there aren’t many available)
you should get pre made ones, as making new ones right now is just a waste of time except case studies etc, only be hitting past papers atp
I got CGP flashcards for science and there help a lot
@@laynnn3 yeah I agree ur right it’s just my brain takes so long to remember content I don’t know how to do past papers without knowing anything agahaha
make flashcards for required practicals though
@@adminone9149 definitely for required practicals keep them seperate and then just get the premade ones bc there’s no more time left😭😭
you would get it
I'm really worried about english lang paper 1 question 5 and I'v tried to write a plot to fit every question but I don't know how much time I'll have to practice loads- how many times do you recommend that I just practice applying it to different questions?
What is ur plot? It would be greatly appreciated if you could share because whenever I get to question 5 I'm completely stumped
worst comes to worst, just come up with a couple potential ideas the night before the exam - at least then your mind won't be completely blank. my advice would be to do around 3. they only take about 50 minutes so in terms of revision it is quite efficient.
Hi, just wondering would 10 days enough to go through all bio, chem ad history? If I just bang on pracitce questions and flashcards
defo
What’s the best way to revise during the actual exam period? Is it best to just do a few subjects at a time depending on what’s coming up on the timetable
will be doing a video on this :)
do you reccomend the quizzes on cognito for science?
i didn't use them, but defo recommend them
Do a video on predictions please, how to predict English igcse for example.
dont rely on predictions. theyre never 100% correct, just revise bro
@@makSyak for English you can narrow them down by a lot and it’s pretty accurate, of course not the exact one but it can narrow it down by more than 50%
i don't think i'd be able to predict anything!

i want to get a 7 in maths but when i do a past paper im only getting marks around 30 - 45 when i need around 45- 50 what do you think i shud do??
do you have any tips?
usually just keep grinding out past papers and marking them bcs that made me go from a 5 to a decently high 7, if ur really stuck on questions then usually there might be videos of somebody going thru whatever paper ur doing and imo that helps a lot
@@vitamins6611 thankss, but the thing is right the first bit of the paper ik the topic but i am finding it hard to understand the question

@@_z.ao_3175 I’d review the flashcards for that specific topic in Chem,Bio or Physics and do it anywhere when you’re out,on the bus,on a walk and just having a digital way of carrying all those flashcards without having to try and carry and accidentally forgetting the ones you’ve hand-made at home when you’re out and about.
@@Ash-up6ot I haven’t really made any so i will just use those and some other digital Flashcards I found that r rlly good I’m hoping for an 8 I got a 5 in my mock do u think it’s possible with the time I have left 😪
@@_z.ao_3175 OMG! Definitely if you put in the work the time and the effort you’re so bound to get the grade you want especially with the time we have right now it’s definitely time to get into action and reviewing flashcards everyday when possible!Do so much past paper questions and work on topics you really struggle with. Also make sure you aren’t burning yourself out cause that can really cause you to be de-motivated. Just be really consistent with the revision you’re doing now and just have belief you can achieve anything cause it will definitely come true if you truly want that grade! Good Luck! 🤞
do you think getting all 9s was worth it?
interesting question, which I've actually done a video on: czcams.com/video/8IROQpUnUBk/video.htmlfeature=shared
I think overall it was worth it, but mainly for the skills that it taught me. i don't think getting 10 9s wouuld have been much better for me than majority 9s.

Pls someone help me out here

im just tryna do past papers but i dont know anything, so i just watch walkthroughs and guides of the papers and try to learn there and repeat
maths just do tons and tons of practice questions & pass papers, and defo do Corbett maths 5 a day
do practice questions for sciences, do 6 markers since they r a lot of marks, and bc u may not know the answer look at the chapter in ur text book (which is based on the topic of the 6 marker) and read over it for 10-15 mins and then answer the 6 marker, example: 6 marker on phloem and xylem cells, read chapter in textbook for 10-15 mins on xylem and phloem cells and then answer 6 marker
for English I suggest watching first rate tutors since has done last min videos for Macbeth and inspector calls and oml they r so helpful, wait do u do inspector calls and Macbeth??
For science watch (free science lessons), for english watch (mr bruff) and (mreverythingenglish) and maths watch (corbettmaths) And ofc do exam papers, they are available on (Physics and Maths tutor), it has english and other subjects on there too
