Wow. That is one immaculate R90/6. I own a 1976 one myself...but it's not that pristine. That one looks like it came off the showroom floor yesterday. Impressive.
I had a set of those colors. Only one year if memory serves. 74green or some such designation. I put them on a 90/5 "bitsa" that I built 85-86 that had the mainframe, crankcase and crankshaft of the original '70 model 75/5 only.
There were no /6 short frames. The longer swingarm became standard during the '73 model year (they are known as '73 1/2 models) You undoubtedly have seen extended swingarms on /6 models but that was just the factory using up existing parts. You just think you want a short frame. They become VERY prone to speed-wobbles above 95mph. It's why the swingarm was lengthened.
@@dbmail545 Lol. How old are you? I'm 70. And I owned a 1974 R76 short frame BMW 750. WTF is wrong with young Americans these these days---brain damage?
Sir, Your idle is a wee bit low, that’s the main reason the oil pressure lamp stays on when the engine is started. Ask me how I know this? I own a beautiful example of a 1976 R90/6 Model with 27,000 miles. It was explained to me that some owners like to set their timing / carburetor/ idle adjustment down as low as the engine will run, not good for oil pressure.
мот огонь,но почему обороты плавают???? холодный,или халтура??? по номеру видно мот в германии ,откуда работа двигателя не ровная,газу,газу,а холостых нет......карбюраторы настроить надо!!!! мот огонь,молодцы.....
I have read that burning unleaded fuel in a bike designed to use leaded can adversely affect the valve seats. This usually manifests itself in a very rough idle.
Never seen a green one before. Don't hate it, but it's odd to me. I like that it sticks out though. I have same year and make, mine was early 75'. It's not immaculate like this is though!
There was a green colour option but it was more lime-green than this bike so I suspect this has had a re-spray. I also own a 90/6 but mine is Marakesh Red. It is not immaculate either but still a lovely bike to ride
i have one of these 1975 r/90/6es . yours is gorgeous. mine is a cafe racer that needs repairs. does anyone know a good repairman in los angeles that isnt a rip off?
Yes, it should sound so much smoother, it sounds horrible, and DO NOT GUN THE ENGINE WHEN FIRST STARTING IT UP, you very obviously do not know anything about motors, let it warm up on it's own. I had a bike just like this one and never did what you did, mine ran fabulously.
@@TimeGallon for sure, it's the short legged riders that have issues with the/5 and /6. I would suggest putting a right side footpeg on the left side if the rider has big feet.
The color is very beautiful.

Nice bike. I preferred the R75/6 short frame though.

These sound fantastic with straight pipes.
BELLISSIMA, e che minimo. Io avevo la r 45. Era inarrestabile e comodissima soprattutto in autostrada.

BMW offered the colour "Nürburggrün" the colour in the video is not the original colour. I don't like the silver stripes...
I have never seen that shade of green before on a classic BMW …. & I know why …
The colour isn't original. The stripes in silver also not. The original colour "Nürburggrün" with white stripes was very nice.

That bike should sound much smoother at start up, you can't get a Harley sound from a BMW. I agree sinc the carbs.

Sounds like carbs need to be synced ?
Nice bike

І таке вже оюробили в 75 році а в нас навіть Дніпро 11 залишився далеко по заду.!Не розумію чому не можна було іти в ногу з часом!?
Hi, nice color ! genuine ? Color code may be ?
Would this bike be good for someone who is around 6’2”?
VatoreRM sure you already know the answer by now but I’m 6’2 and own a ‘76 R90/6. It’s a perfect fit.
