I grew up hearing them on the alternative radio station in the 90s and had no idea who they were, but loved 'kiss off' a lot. They played 'blister in the sun' every year at the dance at summer camp. I had no idea they were an 80s band
These guys are such nice guys, and they’re fun as heck to watch live. I saw them live the day I turned 21, and they posed for photos with me, Brian signed a dollar bill for me, it was so awesome!
Growing up in Milwaukee I watched this show regularly as a kid and remember seeing the Femmes play on At Twelve. The show was live and the boys changed their lyrics to call our racist police chief Harold Breier a liar. Howard and Rosemary crapped their pants. Great TV

We were crazy about the band and that album freshman year of college university of northern iowa 1987. Id say they blew up at that point. Live in chicago but i never knew until today there is an east side of Milwaukee. Is it on the lake?
i remember dialing for dollars. violent femmes make me think of the replacements, only though , the replacements were a heck of alot better.femmes only had one good song..''american music''.rest were shit.
I always thought the Violent Femmes was an early alternative band there sound was so different and exciting

It's difficult to trust the opinion of someone who still uses term "the blacks"
Roger Clemons pretty sure you're full of shit.
@@authorityblues It's difficult to trust the opinion of someone who can't even quote someone correctly. He didn't say "the blacks", dumbass.
