He has a Knockout walking backwards and the adjustment to the left to the body is incredible.

He's at C (not D) which is still really good. Guru even said heavyweights have a disadvantage/the list is bias since they're bigger and can't move as well. And stipes biggest strength really is his grappling anyway

@@Kaledrone He said jui jitsu.. not grappling. Jui jitsu is grappling but not all grappling is jui jitsu. Wrestlers and jui jitsu guys have very distinct and different styles of grappling.
McGregor not being in S tier is just crazy to me. The skill of his movement and precision in his stand up is one of a kind.
Way better strikers than Conor man.

He wouldnt have ever been rich if it wasnt for mayweather lmao. Was he great? Yes. Goat? Not even close, he got matched vs eddie alverez (who got cut from UFC for losing too much 😂) to win his second title and hes only fought what.. 5 top 10 fighters his whole career? Edson barbosa, all the s tiers on this list, even an upper welterweight striker like Durinho would sleep mcgregor. Hes a good fighter, beat tough guys but besides the aldo flash ko, nothing mind blowing.

McGregor is not a true welterweight. His shots do not have the same affect on 170 pounders like it does 145-155. What are you talking about he got cut cause he lost to much? Eddie alvarez had a no contest against Dustin then beat gaethje and fought Dustin again and lost. Gaethje is fighting for the title at UFC 274 and Dustin was and is a top guy. That right there shows you have no clue what you are talking about. His Loss to McGregor was when he was at his best.

Everyone whos decent (cowboy) (mcgregor) (porier) beat the breaks off him. They gave mcgregor Alvarez cus they knew it was an easy title unification. And they could make more money. Vs porier, mcgregor has been finished twice. He got dropped by Khabib (a wrestler😂) was getting outstruck by mendes, got dropped by nate diaz who got demolished by Masvidal, an old man with 200 fights on his body. Mcgregor is not that good, lol.

Jon jones being in the c tier is ridiculous. He is literally one of the best kickboxers in mma and outstruck some of the best strikers in mma. His reach does carry his striking but that doesn't make him any less of a great striker. You wouldn't say someone is not a good striker because they rely on their speed
He still has no power or boxing. Reach is all he has. If he had a 77 inch reach he would be nothing.
@@Ashw1115 It's not about a what if. He had the reach and he uses it to its maximum potential. That's good striking. You have to work with what you have and play to your strengths. If he fought like a dude with a reach 8 inches shorter than him it would be foolish. Also your reasoning is just poor because if it's all because of his reach then why wasn't Stevan Struve a reigning heavyweight champ because of his reach?
@@Wyatt_Riley i agree. I remember seeing the tallest mma fighter, who probably had the longest reach, not using his reach in the way jones did. If you reduce jones to his reach u know nothing about combat sport. It's his strength and he has to use it
Yeah but it works also because of the wrestling threat, Usman vs Masvidal is a good example, Masvidal would beat the shit out Usman in a kickboxing match, but Usman flatlined him in MMA, the takedown threat is a real thing. Jones is also very dependent of reach.

Tj getting finished by Henry and having such a close fight with cruz on the feet makes him an A level striker all day. He’s epic but S is a reach mate. We know you love TJ though 😉
Yet sandhagen is only a B when he’s easily an A at minimum. He absolutely got robbed against Dillashaw and was fucking him up on the feet and even dropped him

Doesn’t matter how pretty his striking looks, he got KO’d by John Dodson and cejudo. He is not on the same level as adesanya or wonderboy
wonderboy got dropped by Woodley and slept by Pettis. TJs striking is another level, watch Barao fights
Both of the fighters you mentioned are awesome strikers in a division that almost solely relies on skills and speed
@Chocolatito Maravilla I know it’s an unpopular opinion; But I think you’ve got a point.
Izzy hasn’t been as dominant as people seem to think. Yes, his performances against Costa and Whittaker were brilliant … But he lost to/got outstruck by Jan, IMO he probably lost to Romero, he had an extremely close fight with Kelvin, and he didn’t look that good against Vettori (Plus, I don’t think Vettori was actually #3 at MW). And I think that MW is arguably the weakest men’s division.
I don’t think he’d be champ if he wasn’t at MW.
And I’m not one of his haters. Izzy (until gyno-gate) was my favorite fighter. And It’s not that I hate him, I just can’t look at him the same, now that I know he’s almost certainly on PEDs.
But, I think you’d could definitely make an argument that Volk, Yan, Gane, or Poirier could be better/more effective MMA Strikers.
And I think you can make an even stronger argument that Izzy is not top 5 p4p, and maybe not even top 10 p4p.

I would like to see a list based purely on skill (like without taking into account the effectiveness against the top of the division as the might not have fought those guys yet). I'm talking guys like Gane, O'malley, CHikgadze? etc.
Gane would be on any list-regardless of criteria, when you’re talking about striking. He’s without question top 10 strikers in MMA.
I think Volk goes in S tier now.

Disappointed with Gaethje's position in Tier C. Dude put a striking masterclass against a freak like Tony Ferguson. For full 5 rounds he threw great strikes and lit Tony up.

Cruz isn’t really a good striker his foot work would be the highest in mma at one point although Cody figured him out.

Do you not realize the amount of time McGregor took off between his fights between Khabibb and then dustin. He was gone for 657 days before fighting Khabibb then took another 400 days off before fighting Cowboy then Dustin.

I completely with you on Nganou and how you rated fighters in general.
Even if a fighter k.o'd alot of people doesn't really mean their a good striker, Nganou striking is effective yes but very very simple, he k.o opponents who swing at him with chin in the air throwing hay makers, he is a brawler and he doesn't really "out-box" people.
Not trying to downplay him or anything he is very talented and gifted but putting him at S just because of the punching power would not be a good judgment of striking proficiency although I can totally see other more mainstream content creators putting him on S just because of "omg punching power" I'm glad you took a more reasonable aproach to this list.
