Boy am i grateful to my parents for giving me a brain. When i came out, my mother told me, if you turn into one of these, you have 2 weeks to leave the house and live on your own. Being gay was not even a topic of discussion for my parents, not because theyt were against it, but because they couldn't have given less of a fuck about the sexuality of their kids. But my parents are both serious scholars (3 PhD on my Scandinavian father's side working as an archaeologist, historian and theologian for the University of Reykjavik, Helsinki and Oslo and 4 Phds on my British French Russian mother working for the UNESCO as an anthropologist and ethnologist and responsible for sections of the world intangible heritage) and a shallow stupid son was not an option. Thank god instead of going to Mykonos in my early 20s or late teens i was excavating sites with my father in other parts of greece or working with my mother at the documentation and preservation of ancient languages among the Ainu in Japan, the Navajo and Hoppi in Arizona, Utah and New Mexico or the Amazigh in northern Africa, when i wasn't in boarding school in Switzerland and later on getting my veterinary and ethology degree.
I am watching this video as a documentary to try to figure out what i might have missed, and i am glad to realize, i missed nothing.
Bragging about your relatives' PhDs is far more obnoxious than anything "one of these" might come up with.
