György Grozer (born 27 November 1984), also known as Georg Grozer, is a German volleyball player of Hungarian origin, a member of the Germany men's national volleyball team and Italian club Gas Sales Piacenza, a bronze medalist of the 2014 World Championship, two-time German Champion (2009, 2010), Polish Champion (2012), Russian Champion (2013), Chinese Champion (2017).
Personal life
Grozer was born in Budapest, Hungary. His father György Grozer Senior is a former volleyball player and coach. With his first wife Violetta he has two daughters - Leana (born 2007) and Loreen (born 2010).
Career
Clubs
He was crowned national champion on two occasions, in 2009 and 2010, while playing for VfB Friedrichshafen. After moving to the Polish league he was Polish champion in his second season (2011/2012) with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów. He then moved to Belgorod where, in the early stages of the season, he played a major role in the team's success in the Russian championship and in the National Cup of Russia. This season he won the Super Cup and the National Cup in Russia, and was crowned the top club team in Europe with Belgorod.[1] In 2017 Grozer back to Russia Super League join to Lokomotiv Novosibirsk.
National team
2011 Grozer could not help the German team because of an injury. In 2012 the dynamic and powerful hitter smashed the German team to the Olympics and to the 5th place in London. In 2014 played at World Championship 2014 help in Poland. Germany won the match for the bronze medal with France.[2]

During the match between Germany and France in the Tokyo 2020 Qualification, Gyorgy Grozer incredibly breaks a world record with his outstanding spike speed of 130.5 km/h on the opposite side of the court.

For those tho haven't watched that particular match. He only flexed his biceps like that and Ngapeth laughed after because Ngapeth was the first one to do it after a powerful spike. So it was Grozer's response shortly after basically saying 'I can do that too!" :)

Grozer has aged like a fine wine. Not only technically, but in his earlier years he seemed pouty and maybe like not the best teammate but he now to has matured into a great team leader to look up to.

Considering his age he can still play high level of volleyball while most of the players when age 33 yrs old and above attain some injuries that they stop playing from the sport and retiring because they cannot keep up their intensity and playing form to the young ones. I believe he can still play when he is in his 40's

We have mighty players as Grozer for Germany, N’Gapeth for France, Zaytsev for Italy. Bruno and Lucas for Brazil, Maxim Mikaylov and Dmitri for Russia, Clayton Stanley for USA, and many more of older generations.
These days players have muscle and power but they are not efficient like their elder brothers. Cannot score continuously and can’t stay calm until set 5. Make so many mistakes for serving. And they seem like can’t beat the blockers when they are stressed out. I love to watch volleyball games from Olympic Sydney 2000 to Rio 2016. @@nazarenoorefice2104 zaytsev only served 135 kph once and it is still the fastest serve ever, plus spikes are usually less fast than Jump serves. Not saying grozer is better, (i think eg leon is a way better overall player) but in pure spiking Power he can compare with these guys.
