Finally!!! Keto and no cook backpacking THANK YOU!!!
StarGypsy Dreamer thanks for watching, check out my Sherpa tea and keto brick videos.
Outside Chronicles will do thank you!
Awesome recommendations, this makes keto actually seem easier than a normal backpacking diet. Excited to try these.
Agreed, and there are great options without having to cook. Good luck with your keto backpacking meals.
Avid hiker, climber & endurance cyclist... today is my 40th day on Keto...so pleased to discover how minimal & light it all is. Thank you!
You will love it. You should be well on your way at 40 especially if you are active, which it sounds like you are. Check out my Keto Tea and Keto Brick videos too!
Yay! Brian and I just started keto and we’re talking about what we would do on hikes- pre keto we loved carb loading so this is great!
Lots of Avocados and Eggs. Look for avocados at Aldi. The prices fluctuate constantly. I also loved morning bulletproof coffee: coffee+2x heavy cream + MCT oil. Remember to supplement electrolytes as well as magnesium.
Perfect timing... our family is just starting keto and in a week we are doing a backpacking trip. Thank you
Good luck with keto. Glad the video helped, you will notice a difference on keto on long hikes.
i love cooking, just not when im hiking lol… it’s all about simplicity for me in that case… lots of beef jerky, nuts, hard boiled eggs in ziploc bags and instant coffee…very little garbage/utensils to carry also
Heavy whipping 1/4 cup of cream and 1tsp of butter with coffee is a great meal replacement !
Going keto finally gave me a reason to go stoveless too! Probably will be eating straight out of the bags and blending powders and shakes in my waterbottle, so no use for a pot, a mug or utensils either. So, in addition to giving steadier energy on the trail, keto makes for a lighter backpack too. Thanks for your tips!
TRUEiMPROrecords definitely lots of great tasting, high calorie options w/o cooking. Thanks for watching and your comment. Have you tried the keto brick?
I used to go shoeless but now enjoy hot meal end of day, which I have dehydrated. In the morning keto protein shake coffee flavoured and my own trail mix thru the day. I couldn't handle carrying all that packaging waste in and out of the track.
Hey I realized I'm a little late to the party. However I was pretty excited to see this video I really want to get into backpacking and I think being in ketosis would be the best for energy levels. It's exciting to see people making it work.
Definitely, I was Keto for over a year. Loved it, long story short, being fairly lean and athletic, my cholesterol levels were high. My tris and A1C were normal. So I think I was fine, never did an in depth test to see if it was large particles or small particles. I am thinking of cycling back on. It was amazing for long distance hikes.
Great idea for the granola! I am going to try and mix it with Legendary nut butters! Yum!
The ProGronola is awesome. The little bit of vanilla and cinnamon taste is delicious. Thanks for watching!
I just started keto 2 weeks ago! I’m excited to watch your keto content
Love keto and was on it for over a year. It was definitely the leanest I have ever been. I also saw HUGE benefits for long activities like hiking and backpacking. Not only was the food more dense (lighter and less space in the backpack), I never really go hungry. I have been on and off keto since that first year. I still do not eat refined grains or sugar. I found on keto that my cholesterol skyrocketed. My A1C and triglycerides were normal. I read this can happen to lean, athletic types. Basically, you need the cholesterol to circulate nutrition. I was OK continuing, but my doctor freaked out and wanted to put me on statins. I switched diets to prove him wrong. I will do a video soon on my keto sherpa tea! Good luck with keto, if you are disciplined to stay in ketosis, it can be a game changer.
And check out my keto brick review. I used the keto brick on my Devil's Path ultra hike. It is super dense in calories and tastes good.
I will . I’m definitely into bringing bars on a hike. I’ll probably be looking into keto bars and things that are easy to grab on the trail and eat
@@BrianHikesAllDay Bacon and Noosh!
So breakfast avocado and peanut and granola balls or pre cooked bacon. Plus coffee and Keto cafe or lower calories Keto creamer.
Lunch without snacking, Keto bars x 2 or so or almond butters nush (?), or almond, cashew or mixed nuts, hard salami sticks,
Dinner tina/ chicken packets, mix with mayo, avocado, bacon. Or Keto brick.
Watch your electrolytes ? /zip fiz / nun tablet
Sounds about right, see you outside.
For me, nuun has the best flavor.
How did you like the Keto Brick? I have a 7-day trip coming up in August. Thinking that might work well. Wondering how they hold up in the heat though. Thanks for posting! Been Keto for 1 1/2 years and I'm always on the hunt for different food ideas!
The ketobrick worked out really well. I had it on a pretty hot day, mid-70's and it held up fine. I wrapped it in aluminum foil. I found that it tasted really well, but I could only eat 1/4 to 1/3 at one time. It is really dense in calories. I just shaved off a little bit at a break and continued on. I also HIGHLY suggest the Noosh packets, 100 calories and almost no weight. I just kept a few of those in my pocket for a quick pick-me-up. Thanks for the sub!
@@OutsideChronicles - I'll give those a try. Thanks for the quick reply! BTW - Have you tried Next Mile Meals?
Curious for long backpacking trips a concern for constipation with lack of vegetables. Dehydrated kale is easy to make and lightweight and can dust with Himalayan salt and non- fortified nutritional yeast.
Great question, I have not done any long (>2 day) trips on keto.
Ty 4 info happy 2 follow
Glad you liked the video, hope you like my other content. Thanks for the sub!
Good info! Thxs. Can’t waitvto get off all my sugar loads!
Limiting sugar and refined grains will change your life!
Outside Chronicles i.e. clif shot bloks, promax. Bars, etc
I like Laird Superfoods Instafuel as my backpacking coffee. Have to pass on the $12 bricks.
I'm preparing for trekking in Nepal and I can't eat nuts or chocolate. Really limits my keto options. Any ideas for me?
That’s tough without chocolate or nuts. They make some MCT packets with out nuts. I would tend toward jerkies, bacon, etc, There are vegan, no nut Keto Bricks. Hard cheeses will also be an option. You can also get some powder supplements for your water. Good luck, Nepal is definitely a bucket list.
@@OutsideChronicles Wow! Thanks for the advice. I'm adding to my notes. I'm going to try carnivore bars and nut free keto bricks for sure.
Sunflower seed butter or macadamia nut butter would be better.
