Kids these days, and their fancy weapons. In my day, we used our switch axes like golf clubs to smack our friends onto monsters.
Too many amateurs run up to the face, dual blades, great sword and longsword are the worse offenders.. longsword and GS unless no hammer or horn users should be going for the tail or learn to work the opposite side of the head. Everytime I get a full 2 phase charge for a up and down smash attack someone goes directly on my path and stumbles me. Or I take a strp back to do a single charge upward thrust dash and you guessed it..so I launch there asses.. G rank has some great players as well but its half sad tbh. Long sword and dual blades have no business up there especially if tails are not coming off..

@FinalHunter97 I always found it unfair how frontier players get to have some of the main series monsters and yet we can't get like one or two monsters from frontier. Atleast the ones from MHW we get to keep.

Not that i care, but given the name "Magnet spike" Im guessing that little projectile was a magnet thing, and the weapon itsel can magnetize itself towards that projectile; which stuck to the monster, thats my observation
@@blizzardwarrior8738 it would have been cool if the part which got magnetized repelled the hunter if that part was to hit him,imagine rathian's tail swip,you shoot the magnet to his tail and whenever you are about to get hit by it,the magnet automatically repels the hunter

@@solaireofbadciv914 something tells me it'll be a manual input to attract/repel yourself from the magnet. Seems incredibly powerful though, heavy hammer-like combo and even more mobility

You're half right, the weapon origin is unknown but the model being used here is of Ancient Civilization design. Frontier has an area called the Sky Corridor, a huge tower that was built by the Ancient Civilization, the Guild led expeditions into it and started to recreate some of the armor and weapons from what they could find. You can find models designed like this for all the weapon types.

To my knowledge the only weapon that didn't originate from the ancients is the charge blade, or at least we have no proof of it yet

The ability to attract and repel yourself to a targeted part of the monster looks sick, I’m a lance main but I’m definitely learning the magnet spike.

U dont have to do all that lol i live in wisconsin and i have frontier and frontier z on my computer with a lil bit of work its really very easy

Honestly a new “ranged” piercing weapon would be sick. Essentially a lance without the shield but with upgraded mobility, or like two smaller lances with this magnetic ability though.. I think there needs to be a cooldown type technical affect, or phials that you have to charge or reload like the switch axe and charge blade because you could spam it and just sonic the hedge hog your enemy bouncing back and forth off the monster

Looks like a bow, can sort of do insect glave stuff, can create bursts like the gunlance, can transform into an axe, swings it like a great sword and hammer.

Weapon sizes are actually a thing in Frontier, so weapons like Hammer and Great Sword can have even longer reach by themselves.

Just remember, it was said the switch was going to get its own exclusive MH games in the future. We have that to look forward to.
Actually since the main reason Frontier doesn't get ported over is because it's only worth selling the game and paying for servers for the big Japanese consumer base. We might see ZZ come to Switch since Nintendo Online takes the weight off paying for American servers even if it isn't as wildly popular here.

Looking at this from a Broomstick Gaming point of view, I would have to say this is a medium speed, high power, zero guard weapon that makes use of two separate forms to slash and bash the monster. This weapon will do well for players who are comfortable with switching between weapon forms.
I've always considered Frontier to be during the ancient times when they still haven't lost the wyverian tech and all the sub species still existed lol

I'm sorry but tonfas should be for frontier and frontier only,almost all monsters have gigantic AOE attacks that can easily obliterate you in 1 hit
Same for the magnet spike,right now the main series is too easy to get tonfas and the magnet spike (except 4U)
Solaire Of Astora: It's not as much as the main serie games are too easy (world and non-G titles notwithstanding) but that they play vastly differently. Frontier is much closer to fighting a mmo raid boss. The closest fight to a frontier fight the main serie has would be Behemoth.
They are two very different approach to the genre, so it's not so much the difficulty, but the fight mechanic, that dictate why a weapon made with aoe intensive gameplay in mind would not fit the main serie, wich is light on aoe mechanics.

Hunting horn without songs + dark explosions + bow that shoots self and hunter + a touch of greasword.
