    I will be adding items to my store all the time and all proceeds go right back into the channel! I slapped together some basic electronics to see how the Tamiya M06 Drift Bug performs... And its a mess, lol A fun mess at least. Ive never RWD drifted so it seemed very overpowered to me. But it looks awesome! With some practice though it is a lot of fun.

    Those wheels make that model.
    Absolutely stunning. My passion for VWs has been ignited again. It would be cool if there was a way to make the rear lid pop out at the top like tbe Bugs in Hot VW magazine.

    Man she looks really nice. With out crazy steer angle (60 degree plus) and proper shocks she's always going to spin out and do donuts.

  • @chiefjulian
    @chiefjulian Před 6 lety +3

    For rwd drifting we use giro’s and almost 90 degrees of steering angle. Also we use 10,5 turn motors

    • @chiefjulian
      @chiefjulian Před 6 lety +2

      So basicly try to get as mucht steering angle as you can and use a giro that wil help out a lot. And when you start geting better the next thing is going to be speed (motor). Also al of the camber you have in the rear is not helping you (not enough grip)

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  Před 6 lety +2

      Thanks for the advice, steering angle on these mini chassis is notoriously horrible since the servo is so far from the front. Worth looking into re-working it.

  • @brsrc759
    @brsrc759 Před 6 lety +2

    I'd say you need to go with maybe hard rubber tires in the back instead of plastic. I would keep experimenting with different compounds on the rear as well as suspension stiffness for a proper rwd drift

    LOVE this!... now you just need to dump the Tamiya battery connectors, and get a gyro... it’s nearly impossible to drive a RWD drift car w/o one... great job!

    Sometimes the lower budget stuff is surprisingly tons of fun. My wife got me an ECX 1/18th Torment 4x4 short course truck, and that little thing is a blast. Plus it is surprisingly durable for the price.
    The VW looks cool, and if its fun, does it need to handle like its on rails?

    Oops, donuts in an rc video are a no no. Rig looks good, looking forward to seeing the body finished. Maybe adjusting in your throttle curve will help you out in the beginning. Also the extreme camber is making the rear end super loose from lessened contact with your driving surface.

      09fx ¿ actually it's the ruger blackhawk 45. I was told they only made 300 in this configuration with the stainless, but who knows if that's true. Regardless it's a great piece, super robust. It comes with a 45 ACP cylinder and a long colt cylinder so I appreciate that utility as well.

      @@RCeveryday Thanks for getting back to me on this, I really appreciate it. I have the M06 Beetle kit and I really want to put Porsche wheels on it. I am not sure what wheels will fit on the chassis as of yet. I have not started to build the car yet. I have been buying all of the hop ups for it and I intend to build the car when I have all of the hop ups I want on it. Keep up the good work on your channel, I really enjoy your stuff. Take care and have a great day.

      Right on. I figured as much but just had to ask. I’m gonna attempt to 3D print some for the tamiya bus I’m building.
      One more question if you don’t mind, what tires did you use?

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  Před 4 lety +1

      They are hpi drift tires that were made specifically for those wheels. Hpi wanted to be different and these cup racer wheels were slightly larger than tamiya m-series.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  Před 5 lety +1

      It really didnt take much at all. The chassis sits very low right out of the box, just mounted the body much lower on the body posts. I did add adjustable uppers to get the proper scale amount of camber on it and help the +6mm rear wheels tuck
