- Unfortunately the PROairRC kits are no longer made. I picked up this vintage Tamiya FF01 VW golf on ebay a few months ago, dont know why, lol. I have a soft spot for old tamiya touring cars. So after removing the shocks and staring at it a week I decided to go all out and make the air ride kit work with it. Using tons of parts from the recently killed mod rod project we make it happen.

Amazing where you can take the hobby to the next level!👌😎👍 very cool!
Back in the days I used to have a full size golf blue with gold wheels. Brings back good old memories. Love it. Take care bro. Much love from 🇨🇦
Made my rc impala bounce with 30kg 360' servos on shocks running on a garage door relay on 12v 2amp supply press the buttons and it had some kick nothing major but enough to make it a low rider :) so I absolutely respect this build =D
Looks really nice on that car, too bad they are not available any more
Being a vw guy and owning 3 of my own mkiv gti and jettas this makes me really envious.
This thing is super rad! You just made my VW dreams! 😝
I love the looks of it. And I am excited to see some rose videos of it but I would most definitely get a new golf GTI body and paint it up like a touring car with a Hott brushless motor in it and some rubber tires! And let it rip!👍🏼
#1#LOVE THIS ONE#LOVE IT
Very cool hydraulic work! 👏
Awesome work. Car is outrageous.
SOOO KOOOOOLLLL .
That was a cool project. 👍👍
Idea for you ... Kitchen aid vac pump shocks compress on pull an if springs in place should rest itself on air intake . You could get what's called disfuzer's an air them next to spring shocks on an rc vehicle .🤔
Man the way everything looks is always on point. If you are spending time on that, it’s really paying off. It’s like a party for the eyes. 👁👁🪅🍾
Feeling Froggy. Never heard that term before. Must be a Texas thing.😎👍
🤣🤣 it very well might be. I’ve heard it all my life.
" If you're feeling froggy, leap " is the whole saying 😂
I really need to figure out what I'm going to put my ProAir kit on... I'm glad I have one. One of these days, something will inspire me. lol
Very nice transformation..! Loved it 😘
Excelente video sobre la colocacion de esta suspension, de aire a RC este Volkswagen Golf Vintage , mis respetos y saludos desde Venezuela💯🤘👊💯
Love it bro....now time to start cutting the chassis on the lowrider so it will lay frame haha....I know the new hasn't wore off yet....keep up the great work 👍👍👍
So sick
I would most definitely take the plastic drift wheels off and put some rubber street wheels on them rims and instead of drifting It. I would make it more like a touring race car
SICK!!!!
damn i would love to have such a body from a mk4 golf
cool beans🦅👍
Que pasada de guapo!! Has hecho un gran trabajo tio, mis felicitaciones 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
3d printed turbos to cover the shocks
I used to have an ff01 chassis. By the way yours looks like an ff01.
You can probably glue some big turbo chargers on the hood to hide the spacers and stuff or a big horkin engine
Love this car
needs more psssssshhhhhhhh
I never thought this was going to be actually "bagged" .. in my part of the world things like that just not exist..
Hell yeah man!
That is awesome. I wish those kits were still around... Well done! Careful when you sand carbon fiber though, that dust is nasty. It's known to the state of cancer to cause California....
Josh how bout cutting and retapping the black main shaft of the cylinders? If I figure out that size tap I need I’m gonna cut mine down and just do that....
I think you should put those springs back in it for the shocks.
Capo makes up air shock now.
Too bad you didn't stick a dead motor in there for a test weight. Really cool project!
I did and it still lifts with no issues.
@@RCeveryday Awesome!
I guess if you had to do this again you'd have to be using the copper one it's too bad that not more people don't make these systems.
It looks cool and is it just me or dose the struts out of the hood kind looks like turbos
Whouahh😍
Those tires look like they get good wet traction.
Drift tires, no traction at all!
This is cool. I've seen a few vids with them mounted in scale crawlers.
Have you seen or considered one of the SupaScale set ups? I ordered one, just have to decide which truck I want to put it in. The scale realism you can dial in for truck body roll is crazy. I've seen em in drift cars also.
I’ve got one from him. Haven’t had a chance to really get into it yet.
@@RCeveryday do you build for customers?I'm looking to have a custom built stock floor body dropped late 80s yota built.with either hydraulics or air bags for the system..custom built bed floor with the custom system displayed and have the body shaved with a nice interior..have it be a nicely built rc I can drive and figure out a way to lay it out and throw sparks haha...is there a way to get ahold of you and discuss it if your down
As of right now I dont do builds for others. Im in between houses right now, lol. The 1/10 rod shop does custom work and entire builds, as well as wesmade. Wes does amazing scratch built bodies, 1/10 would be the guy to 3d design and make the chassis stuff. He is well acquainted with the mini truck scene from back in the day.
@@RCeveryday that's the info I needed thank you man I appreciate it..wish you were free man I love your style of builds
@@RCeveryday okay so I've contacted both of those profiles and neither must be active on CZcams cause neither have contacted me back..guess I'm a have to bite the bullet and get on Instagram
Are you using the capo air ride system?
I don't even know if they're still making the ff03s.
😊😊😊
That looks so cool can't wait for V2 of this one!
On another note can you let me in on what where you buy your screws and nuts for the custom jobs you do? Thanks a ton!
The scale hardware is from locked up rc. And I have the m3 nuts in my amazon store. Packs of 100. Lol
Hello. Is there anyway that you could of heated up and stretched the hood ? rather than cutting holes in it. Not sure if it would be possible but just a thought. 🤷♂️
It could work on a newer body, this old one is too brittle
By the way I had an actual Volkswagen golf with that body the 2002 model.
Hey bro would be more awesome, if you add colored LED lights on the bottom it will look more import Japan stylish LOL sean from Oahu,h
Oahu,hawaii
But mine was a four-door.
? How do you like the bow house RC tool.
I’ve saved a lot of nearly stripped screws with it. It has better tips than my other tools do.
Thank you... I'm going to get one
How much to make me a 06 gti shell charcoal gray with black windows on air ? Or just f you paint this one how much please ?
We’re did you get the car from
I found it on eBay. It’s a late 1990’s tamiya ff01
I have a full pro air kit if anyone is interested
What is the remote you are using for the air ride ?
It came with the kit. I know it’s generic as I’ve seen them used for other things like remote start on real cars.
Ok good news. How it's working for power supply ?
Where can I buy the air bags?
hi, can you send the full link of the product?
It is no longer made.
@@RCeveryday Is there any possibility to find a second hand?
Oi vc tem ele pra vender ou só o chassi com a suspensão se tiver pode me mandar o link pra mim poder comprar
The chassis is late 1990's tamiya dn the air ride kit has been discontinued for many years now unfortunately
@@RCeveryday sim mas você não tem o sistema de suspensão pra vender consegue fazer pra mim comprar o sistema de suspensão aí vou ver se eu consigo adaptar em outro chassi
You can not buy them like this right?
Oh no. This is a vintage 90’s car with an aftermarket and heavily modified air setup.
@@RCeveryday okay cuz me and a friend of mine want to make our oen air shocks as a business because there is only one company that did that but those cost 400€
Would you consider selling? Iam interested
A LOT OF COINCIDENCE THAT THE PROairRC KITS ARE NO LONGER MANUFACTURED, BUT A LOT OF CHANCE ALSO THAT YOU HAVE 3 OR 4 KITS...……..
Hey bro where are you from?
Texas
Hola
¿ En donde se puede comprar una carcasa o carrocería de un Golf IV como la del vídeo ? Un saludo
It’s is from tamiya in the late 90’s. Very rare. There are some on eBay I have seen
@@RCeveryday vale gracias
I’ll frfr give u 500$ for it I’ll buy the whole thing off ya
Golf is better!
