That is incredible. The ingenuity of man always amazes me. I played a repro cylinder (blank Dictaphone's were used) for a long time collector that never heard one before, and he was amazed at the clarity.

Have you considered doing a Record store day limited release of a diamond disc that is in the public domain? It seems like the perfect way to do a limited color release with a limited run.

My very good friend Mike Hartmann and I put the Record I have into a large lathe, gripping the edge, than ever so genially cleaned off the label aria, and I have yet to make a label for it, But when I do, I will send You some photos! Don You are doing some AWESOME work, preserving these BEAUTIFUL Records by "Re- Creating" them! I LOVE this!

Astounding and wonderful! Finding DDs in excellent condition is getting harder every year. I just hope that you will be able to simplify the process somehow, because it looks very labor intensive. Great work and congratulations!

It's absolutely beautiful and I would like to ask, is there a video explaining how to make a copy of a record and what resin and pigment you are using as well the mold material name. I want to copy my lathe cut discs. Greetings from the kingdom of Eswatini.

      Hi,
Take a look at my other videos and you’ll find one called “copying a disc record at home” or similar. Most mold-making grades of silicone will work, but the polyurethane resins are difficult to use, without pressure casting equipment. I don’t recall the exact products which are easiest to use, but I mention them in another video.

absolutely amazing! I Always wonder about what happened to the old 78 molds and machinery to make them went to. This is a good look at how they were made

SO DID YOU HAVE THE MOLD OFF AN OLD RECORD PRESSED INTO A BLANK DISC??? THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO MAKE "NEW" COPIES OF OLD DISCS? CORRECT??? WAS THERE A PREVIOUS VIDEO SHOWING HOW YOU MADE THE MOLD???
