The OW community doesn't understand that the Paladins devs start working on each champion 6 months before release and they still often have annoying bugs that have a huge impact on the gameplay.
Tbh mauga is way more fun and smoother than raum

You used to be able to hold both m1 and m2 on moji for high dps but now you have to wait a little before left clicking when marking someone to get the most dmg

is it more dps to wait for a full mark or to just explode the mark asap?
@@thamontine Moji fires every 0,7 sec while applying one mark every 0,08 sec
If you were to hold down both m1 and m2 you would hit enemies at around 8-9 marks wich can deal from 509-652 dmg
But if you were to wait around 0,1 sec for the tenth mark to apply than your shot would deal 1000 dmg
So for just around 0,1 sec of waiting you can get an around 350 or even a 500 dmg increase.
Obviously Moji isn't as straight forward as many think as there are situations where you would want to detonate the mark early like finishing an enemy below 650 hp or trying to destroy a barrier or deployable

Yea she was bursting way too fast and too hard for it to be balanced so they slightly changed it
actually something interesting about that cage fight ultimate; in paladins' closed beta buck used to have an ultimate called "imprisonment" that created a giant ring of rock around wherever he casted it, trapping enemies, and giving him 50% damage reduction while inside the ring. if you go on the fan wiki and look up bucks removed content you can find a linked youtube video showcasing it!

A dome that locks people pretty much was a Paladins ability early on the games life. Buck's ultimate trapped people in a small ring made of earthen walls, which was basically the same thing. They changed that years ago though
not to mention that characters in games who use a hook in a way similar to Roadhog and Makoa existed way before Roadhog and Makoa... I really, really never understood all the outrage around similar games

Arena of Valor has multiple heroes with a hook ability. But all are short range except for Grahk, who looks like a demon version of Roadhog. Also, all of them have a "Get over here!" voice line.

Like with Roadhog and Makoa. when looking at D.Va and Ruckus, they are offensive mech based heros/champions, but play completely different, even when there abilities look very identical. Rockets, booster, dual weapons with low range.
mauga is based on the character from retribution event in overwatch 1, the heavy assault unit, apparently mauga was ready and he wass supposed to come out instead of sigma... that was on like 2017-2018
I mean, not really? They made a kit that was originally supposed to be mauga's, but they realized it didn't fit him, so they made sigma and gave it to him instead
honestly thi sounds the same as how league players say hanzo's ult from mobile legends is a copy of karma's skill that didn't even reached the beta test.
@@no.notfromRDR I would say it's different because in the archives event from 2018 there were heavy assault units with dual machine guns and a charge ability that you fight. There was also an exploit that let you play as it in pvp.

im a paladins player at heart but been playing ow more this year , I think it would be awesome to have a paladins vs OW kinda like a marvel vs capcom or capcom vs SNK , bring all the characters into one universe , itd be so broken but so fun , having grover and ana on one team or buck and genji

This made remember the time that overwatch came out so many people said paladins copied overwatch despite paladins being released first.

But Paladins was likely being worked on longer
They didn't copy each other but are similar games in some ways nevertheless
paladins had player access to gameplay earlier, the closed beta released a year before in 2015, two months before overwatches closed beta. Either way, they both would have been in development for a while. @@itsjemmacakes
both games take inspiration from each other, thats just how it works in gamedev. neither fully copied the other, both just take ideas since they seem fun so who really cares
Paladins started development first, it took longer because Hi-rez didn't invest much into it.
@@notanagger4861idk about that, but they were both inspired by TF2. Overwatch took the Hero switching mechanic while Paladins took a loadout system. You even had to collect the cards like you had to collect weapons in TF2, but it was too P2W.

man i havnt played paladins since 2019. what a throwback i need to get back in there…
another thing is that two games have different play style, Paladins prefers a more planned ahead style, building different decks for different effects on different champions, in game you get different items to buy to have different effects (although most casual players don't even know and just leave it on auto buy). OW doesn't have any customization on your character other than skins, but it change that by the fact that most of these characters were designed when the switching heroes were the main focus, so if you get hard countered, you don't have to stick to it. So even if one game tries to copy one another, it may not work on the grand scheme of that game.
ok i feel like its important to say : there are limited amount of mechanics that you can do in FPS game, though those things have similarities, and i 100% garantee any respectable gd will be playing competitor's game and take notes. None of this mechanics have anything extremely special about them to be a "clone".
Actually I'm pretty sure that Makoa bases his abilities on a Assault´s variant from Global Agenda, like many other Paladins characters, I also heard that Roadhog is very similar to Veteran from SMNC

Considering how many years both games had been alive, makes sense champion/heros features will start overlapping to some level, specially now that OW is starting to release heros at more or less the same speed rate as Paladins

You missed the hog predict it would be awsome to have a belly flop tho, Paladins and OW are two very smillar games I ve played a bunch of both and for some time I liked paladins the most the characters felt more original honestly the abilities felt like things ive never seen in other games like when evie came out that I played so much paladins this being said I think its okay for each game to "feed of each other" like evie is by far a better mei and to this day I m hoping for an OW character with some mechanic like soar the flight felt so good and would be cooler then just a dash or straight up flying like phara, it is an amazing abilitie to use. I agree with you when I saw maugas kit I thought Ive seen this before but hey not here so it might fit in in my opinion they are both amazing games that sometimes feed a bit too much of each other and thats fine honestly whats sad is that both games are a bit down and I would like to see the genre comeback to life but that seems very hard to do

i love both games if im feeling awful playing overwatchs current rank system I'd play from time to time in paladins both have similarities. Its not roadhog having a hook and mokoa also having a hook. There are also different games with hooks lets say pudge in dota 2 he has a hook and blitzcrank in league of legends he also has a hook but that does mean they're the same.

OW's hero design has become very similar to Paladins since the launch of OW2. Hope the quality doesn't pitfall like Paladins though.

In turn it could be argued that moji's sort of thing itself kind of does somethign similar to pyro from tf2 if you're running a combo flare loadout. Since flares crit people on fire so you as a pyro want to get close so you can burn people with your short range flame thrower and then pull your flare out to crit OR poke from a distance with it in the hopes you can land it, get them on fire with it, then land another to get a crit. Pyro's airblast is also kind of similar to moji's barriar in that it's a good "get off of me/ let me pass" tool that punishes players for attacking. Airblast is just way harder to use due to being more akind to a parry and only works on projectiles since it reflects them back for extra damage. Nothings truly original, its more about how you mix and match and execute on ideas and how you learn from older ideas. Mauga himself takes very clear ideas from tf2's heavy with how he's basically a chain gunner with a similar game plan of close range damage and smaller poke damage. Raum's similar too infact. Each character has a lot that sets them apart too and again, its about what their whole is not just their inspirations.

I forgot to mention they also have a competent dev team who can do something other than habitually faceplant
to be fair, these games have so much shared similarities now the creativity will just overlap, when illari came out i legit thought they just mashed furia, io and raze (valorant) kits together lmfao
