Portimao is just : " you never see the track"
Looks absolutely incredible. I'm so glad it's back
"Portimao is just : " you never see the track"" This is why Hamilton says at the start of the video: "Honestly I don't really remember it" is because he's never actually seen the track.
@@Dr01d1 Hahaha
Thanks for your comment, my dear friend. How,re you doing?
The way he describes how the track disappears and all you see is sky and front wheels is incredible! Love this dude!
I got him
I cant drive f1 (in ac) in first person cuz im not gonna be looking at the sky too as soon im done i will be deep in the barrier or gravel traps lol
I was gonna like your comment but it at 44 likes so I can’t, write another and I’ll like that lol
@@Mtha77 well some people have ruined it so, did you like the comment?
@@anatoliylotarev5977 I did it for him :)
We need a POV for this track ASAP!
the Nico v Lewis rivalry continues.
Hahah was searching for that comment 😂❤️
Rosberg?
@@PonySparkle69 he also does track guides reviews his techniques etc
I knew this comment existed
Found the comment I was looking for 😂
gets pole position 6 months ago, doesn't even remember the turns in the track. what a legend.
Still a Legend, yes😂😂
it doesn't really matter rn
Your muscle memory do it for you, so your brain doesnt need to.
He's got too many poles
@AndrewJennings...sounds like that's a good thing that he doesn't remember !! with stats like Lewis has got, it must be working in his favour.
Finally Lewis doing a video, we see him very rarely here. Good Luck to him and Mercedes AMG F1 PETRONAS.
thanks ❤
Lewis and Mercedes don't need luck. Their competitors do. 😅😉🤣
Ameeen!!!
Lewis' analysis is based on his talent and skill. It all comes to him where, when and how to drive and position a car around a race track, not just this one, that's why he doesn't remember exactly what corner is where, which I'm sure he knows all that....but his talent takes over.
I LOVE SEEING HIM HAVE THE ATTENTION HE DESRVE INSTEAD OF HATE
THANKS A LOT 💜
I think 99 pole positions is a big reason he does not remember
Thanks Daz
@@gold6813 99?
Or he's only been here once before. Hard to forget the layout of Monza
Honestly knowing the corner numbers wont help you go faster anyway. Just makes it easier to talk about the track
Lewis is that student who never look like studying as hard as other but get AA all the time. Guy doesn't even do track walks or sim work. What a legend
Is that actually true that he doesnt do sim work? If it is, what a friggin legend.
Btw selam aga.
@@ylmzll I don’t know if it is! I remember last year at Mugello, he was not brilliant in FP1 and he said maybe in an interview “ I have to work really hard on the simulator “, so I think he does it
@@ylmzll I think he’s done sim work on tracks he’s never been to before, but he doesn’t spend any time on tracks he’s familiar with
I think that's one of Lewis's best talents. He makes it look like he's not trying, especially in the pre-COVID days when he'd jetset around and post on IG. I think he works even harder than most, but doesn't allow that to be seen. I've seen him recall particular random moves from races a decade ago, I don't buy for one second that he doesn't remember this lap.
i think every team have their own special sim. and their driver use that to test their car set up
Holy hell do this stuff more. Lewis is surprisingly good at this. Like he totally conveyed how hard it is to position yourself in a track like Portimao. Big respect for that lap as well!
thanks ❤
not really he doesn’t go too deep into detail it’s as if tho it comes to him
@@lohithreddy6629 what do u mean ?
not really he should get more into the specifics like nico
@@rosieland2857 I’m mean he doesn’t go into the details
This video ended Nico and Romain's youtube careers.
Real talk though, Nico is the only one who I feel taught me something
Most people will watch all three.
The differences between how they approach certain tracks is just as great as the individual videos themselves.
Lewis is just naturally faster. He cant explain all the details of a track or the physics of his car in the way nico can. Nico probably overanalyses how to put the perfect lap time in place a bit too much to the point where it compromises a bit of his full potential in terms of speed whereas with lewis theres a basic understanding of what to do beforehand but its all natural instinct and it cant be taught. You have either have it or you dont.
*faints to see this comment*
@@GM_FtblA I feel the same it comes to Lewis as like an instinct but others have to work too hard to get the same
Having a Pole lap analysed by the Greatest Driver Of All Time with the most poles in F1 history 😭😭 it doesn’t get better than this 🥶🥶🥶
I totally agree, seeing a YT vid from the G.O.A.T makes you want to see & listen to everything he does on that track... Still Rises Sir Lewis !!
Lewis was so quick, he doesn't even remember it. Thanks to the team for slowing it down a few frames!
Lewis qualifies first out of all F1 drivers and then says "I gotta work a bit harder to improve." That's why he's so good
Nico: This is how you get the fastest lap using the sim
Lewis: This is me doing the actual fastest lap on the track with a real F1 car
The *MAN,*
the *MYTH,*
the *_LEGEND_* Sir Lewis Hamilton describing his pole laps- _please_ make this a full series! :D
(You don't know _how long_ I've been waiting for this!)
I remember Hamilton's track guides from 2007 and 2008 while he was with Mclaren-Mercedes. Always was willing to pause the video to give information that was extra to just what his body felt in the car (eg. what is he seeing? what is he thinking?). I thoroughly enjoy the information he shares with his onboards.
you are the one lewis, thanks that you on earth, my mother and me watch every race with you with heartbeating, your such a good person and great racer, thanks for everything, best wishes from my heart, rene, today you had drove soo good. best wishes for portugal, i believ in you we believ in you ! )
this track looks insane, even from my safe position in my couch! love the racing at Portimão, but it must be terrifying to be driving!
That 1st corner is really terrifying,.,, I LOVE IT
Wow, it's so cool seeing Lewis on here! Please bring him in more often!
“That gap should be bigger”
Wow so he could have gone even quicker 🤯 GOAT
GOAT statement.
The man said he got to work harder. 💪🏽 Got pole on this lap and he still going strong Legendary.
How great to get this perspective from a 7 time world champ
Enthusiasm is still 100% there as if he was still a rookie.
mica tanto...
It's wonderful to see the passion!
This track is crazy, one can barely see the corners when driving it... I love it.
I love it how he's not considering if he's going to get pole or not but simply how much he's going to get pole by. Unreal! The GOAT.
This guy is so talented and cerebral in his approach. The wins and championships make sense now.
Always a pleasure..thank you Champ #44💪
Great to see a track guide from the greatest qualifier of all time!
Please do this for every race, this insight is awesome
Make this a full series please Mercedes!
Thanks for your comment, my dear friend. How,re you doing?
@Diana Maioru Thanks for your comment, my dear friend. How,re you doing?
I miss you, W11!
Me too. The Redbull fanboys are like gloating and being arrogantly confident which pisses me off.
An Engineering Marvel and Fastest car ever to grace a racing circuit. I think George Russell is very lucky to drive that car in a Race.
That's dope having the king do the break down. Good drive to everyone this weekend.
Man, the way this car could turn on Turn 1 is just incredible to watch.
Thanks for this Lewis this helps us viewing from home understand the challenges you face in different trucks.
Let's go Sir Lewis and Mercedes AMG F1!!!
Lewis, all the best for the oncoming weekend and the whole season.
1:21 "Bono, the road is gone." (Lewis, 2021)
If you pay attention Lewis is already talking about corners and thinking about sections of the track that his car hasn’t arrived at yet. This is the sign of a very good driver who looks and plans ahead and a good lesson for young drivers on how to go fast.
I can't imagine going flat out and having the road disappearing in front of you. Pretty scary! A lot of what-if's that could lay just ahead when the pavement reappears in front of you at full speed afterwards. I guess one needs to have a good memory and a lot of courage to succeed in Portimão. You can do it, Lewis!!! 💪🏎🏁#1
One of the best tracks in the calendar 👌👌
This is really cool Guide!! Thanks to Lewis and the entire Mercedes team.
Sir Lewis STILL has the will to go faster !! if he continues to have that F1 buzz this season, I'll think he'll be back next year...Still He Rises :-)
I like how Lewis explains. Clearly he still have a lot of passion for his work.
Mercedes' confidence is unbeatable. They did Q3 on mediums
Excellent tyre management of the yellow wall medium compound, exceptionally smooth through Lagos throughout the first, awesome through the second sector particularly through Portimao & Sagres, brilliant amount of traction generated through the Galp corner onto the straight!🙌
Love that kind of videos
This is a really tricky track with blind spots and it's so good to hear from Lewis himself. The qualifying and Sunday race with traffic and these conditions I am really looking forward to it. Good Luck Team , may the best driver win. 🥂👍🏼 Please do share insights for upcoming races like these it helps get upto speed.
Good luck Lewis! Now i understand the track. Good luck team!
This is of REAL value! Thank you.
Lewis... you’re actually really really good at this ...the grins on your face 👍🏻😂
Hi Peter how are you doing. I'm Allyson from California. I hope you are safe and in good health? Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. Hope you don't mind please.
Very humble. The ending explains why he is the champion of F1.
Thats the greatest of all time right here
Lewis, you are the best.
We need more of this!!!
Good luck tomorrow Lewis!
I gotta get some of that gear this year.
He used to love doing this when he was banging out pole position with Mclaren during his rookie season.
Good luck this weekend team!
This track is like "I Believe I can Fly"
Woooohoooo
Great details, I didn’t realized that they can’t see the road in those hills
Good Luck for Mercedes F1 Team in Portuguese Grand Prix.
Amazing video more of this please!!
*Insert funny joke about Lewis being like a professor in school and the other pilots taking notes here
but... it's not really a joke. If you had any sense as a professional you would be wondering what Lewis is doing. ie. they all look at his telemetry and not the other way round.
@@noomade OH an internet warrior like you is gonna school Lewis now? Lmfao. Idiots.
@@SuperIceman44 LOL , what? Your reading comprehension is poor
This guy is awesome🙌🏻
I'm in love with this track. It's just beautiful.
Lewis managed to describe it so well!
i love this, you should put out more of these. I'm going to have it play on a loop now.
Rack up so many poles, you don't remember them. Legend.
I am enjoying it. All the best to you this weekend !
Give us more Lewis content!! ☺️
Good luck for quali and race, boys!!
You can tell how experienced he is. He has been in F1 for so long with taking a break. He knows these cars and these tracks better than anyone.
Great vid guys been wanting this for a long time but its finally happened :)
All of a sudden a goat appears in Petronas YT page..
Is it me or does lewis look happier lately?
I hope it goes well for you tomorrow lewis and team!
listening to james allison 🤝me🤝listening to lewis
Love this guide and full experience. Good luck for Sunday😉
Total legend
We re lucky to see him race
It's an honour!
Most amazing circuit ever made, fantastic flow! Really is an exciting track, the elevation changes are quite incredible!
Notice how Nico gets right down to objective details and the exact braking points, biases, apex positions, changes in downforce etc.
While Lewis is talking more towards the experience of driving, how he feels during the turns and so on.
Supports that old story of Nico being the more analytical driver, while Lewis is more instinctive.
Except, Nico makes 10m videos on a sim for his own channel while this is just a 2m review of his older Pole Lap just for PR
@@nikhilpaleti3872 both are for PR, don't be mistaken my guy. Why did he do them on the week the race is on? ;)
@@nikhilpaleti3872 That may be true but I think he's on to something. Nico from everything I heard was incredibly hard working and an analytical driver. If you listened to the Beyond the grid podcast with the Brackley boys they express the same sentiments. Lewis drives on instinct using data as guidelines, never relying on it completely. This is shown in wet weather races where Nico as a driver was too rigid and couldn't adapt quickly to new braking points, apex, optimum speeds etc. While Lewis is a master in the wet.
You master Lewis!! Get going bro!
I loved this. Please let's have more of these guides from LH and VB in the future.
I've been subscribed to this channel for 1 year now and been a fan since 2014
Amazing video🥰
Let's go team for the win💪
LM should do more of these
*LH
Pls do all upcoming tracks with Lewis.
Accelerating into the sky. Poetic.
Great job! Huge fan! Smart giving just enough information without revealing too much!
Thank you champ
Love it. He has so many poles he can’t remember
Oh.my. god I love this commentry thanks Lewis. Man can't see road so accelerate to the sky!
Man, it's so clear Lewis has a crazy aptitide for keeping all these details in check. Not hardly remembering exactly which corner, but still sounds like he could be spending 3 hours or more fully detailing the crazy fine detail i suspect he has locked in that immensely talented brain.
Hell, saw a short clip on youtibe some time ago where he was talking about spotting a brake distance by some ture rubber on a curb. Could barely see a faint mark when the curbing was shown.
Bahrain a few seasons ago, 2018 i think, he said at the end of the race he passed Vettel due to the wind changing direction. Which he noticed becuase of the flags at the track changing direction. So he figured the headwind would make the Merc stick.
It sure did, Charles Leclerc had a bummer of a engine issue allowing lewis to catch and pass but damn, charles was quantum locked for grip and atomic energy powered that race.
The capacity for detail and intense physical effort throughout a race weekend will never cease to amaze me.
Nico: You my friend, just started an act of war.
Congratulations on winning the 2021 Portimao Grand Prix Sir Lewis!!
Seeing how their car handle this year compared to last year makes the w11 probably the best f1 car ever made to this day.
Portimão seems to be interesting and a driver's track where skill and balls (or guts for females) separate pros from rookies :-D good elevation changes, and F1 needs more tracks like these (Spa, Mosport, Turkey, Glen end Zolder and Imola)
Lewis Hamilton the goat of F1!!
🐐🐐🐐
Would love to hear more of these from Lewis.
Lewis Hamilton,I'm from suriname and for us suriname people your a super hero, thank you man and we got your back brother,go for pole nr 100😃
